Thermoelectric materials, Mg2Si1-xGex （x=0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1）, have been prepared by bulk mechanical alloying （BMA） and hot pressing （HP）. The electrical conductivity, Seebeck coefficient and thermal conductivity were measured from room temperature up to about 700 K. The electrical conductivity of all the samples increases with increasing temperature, while the Seebeck coefficient and thermal conductivity decrease with increasing temperature. Mg2Si and Mg2Si0.8Ge0.2 possess negative type of conductivity, while for other compounds it is positive. At the same time, the effect of hot processing condition on thermoelectric properties was also investigated. The maximum figure of merit of Mg2Si0.6Ge0.4 was obtained with the processing parameter of BMA at 600 cycles and hot pressing at 773 K and i GPa for i h.

Many studies have focused on reinforced concrete(RC)slender beams,while there is a paucity of studies on deep ***,there is a lack of studies on the impact performance of FRP-reinforced concrete *** this study,a 3-D numerical model was established to explore the impact behavior of the basalt fiber reinforced polymer(BFRP)and steelreinforced concrete beams with different span-to-depth ratios(l0/h).The effects of impact mass and tension reinforcement ratio were analyzed and *** is determined that the impact behavior of the shortest beam with l0/h=1.5 corresponds to punching shear failure,which is distinctive from the other deep *** l0/h exceeds 3.0,the failure mode gradually changes from shear dominant to flexural *** increase in the impact mass leads to a linear increase in the max midspan deflection,the duration of the contact between the hammer and member,and the duration of the dynamic reaction *** max midspan deflection has a negative correlation with the reinforcement *** max reaction force increases with an increase in the reinforcement ratio,which is more evident for higher l0/*** failure mode of the BFRP-reinforced concrete beam is similar to that of the steel-reinforced *** the impact condition,in this study,part of the steel bars yield,whereas BFRP bars exhibit no signs of fracture because of their higher tensile strength and better deformability.A simplified calculational method based on energy is proposed in this study,and the method accurately predicts the residual deflection of the concrete beams with different l0/***,it is established that it is difficult to reproduce the impact response of the deep beams via the singledegree-of-freedom(SDOF)model,which is based on the assumption of the same deflection shape as that of slender ***,a more rational simplified model for deep beams under impact loads is still required.

Size Effect of Impact Abrasive Particles on Wear and Surface Hardening Behavior of High‑Manganese Steel

The size effect of impact abrasive particles on wear and surface hardening behavior of high-manganese steel was *** wear tests were carried out on MLD-10 tester with abrasive particle sizes of 6.0–0.75 mm,*** results showed that the impact wear behavior and surface hardening mechanism of high-manganese steel were affected by the size of abrasive particles.A critical size of abrasive particle might exhibit to distinguish the impact wear *** the abrasive particle size was larger than 0.75 mm,the wear mass loss generally showed a decreasing trend with the decrease of the abrasive particle *** strengthening and mechanical twinning contributed to the good work hardening ***,effective surface hardening layer could not be formed for sample tested with particle size of 0.75 mm and the wear mass loss was the highest among all the *** weak hardening effect led to the sharp increase of the wear mass ***-in abrasives could be observed on the wear surface when the abrasive particle size was larger than 0.75 *** press-in abrasives were peeled off from the wear surface and broken,leaving deep grooves and peeling *** exchange with the sample would occur with the flow of abrasives.A large area of furrow was formed on the wear *** particle size of 0.75 mm,aggregated abrasives formed a dynamic buffer layer on the surface and the stress distribution was more *** formation of buffer layer would lower the effect of the impact load and the work hardening effect could not be fully *** mutual extrusion among the abrasives,friction wheel and sample caused plastic deformation of the worn surface during impact *** present study would help guiding to select the application field of high-manganese steel more precisely.

Fractal theory offers a powerful tool for the precise description and quantification of the complex pore structures in reservoir rocks,crucial for understanding the storage and migration characteristics of media within these *** with the challenge of calculating the three-dimensional fractal dimensions of rock porosity,this study proposes an innovative computational process that directly calculates the three-dimensional fractal dimensions from a geometric *** employing a composite denoising approach that integrates Fourier transform(FT)and wavelet transform(WT),coupled with multimodal pore extraction techniques such as threshold segmentation,top-hat transformation,and membrane enhancement,we successfully crafted accurate digital rock *** improved box-counting method was then applied to analyze the voxel data of these digital rocks,accurately calculating the fractal dimensions of the rock pore *** numerical simulations of permeability experiments were conducted to explore the physical correlations between the rock pore fractal dimensions,porosity,and absolute *** results reveal that rocks with higher fractal dimensions exhibit more complex pore connectivity pathways and a wider,more uneven pore distribution,suggesting that the ideal rock samples should possess lower fractal dimensions and higher effective porosity rates to achieve optimal fluid transmission *** methodology and conclusions of this study provide new tools and insights for the quantitative analysis of complex pores in rocks and contribute to the exploration of the fractal transport properties of media within rocks.

Although a few studies reveal the reasons of poor charge-discharge abilities for lithium-ion batteries based on LiNi_(x)Mn_(y)Co_(1-x-y)O_(2) at low temperature,there are still some practical issues worthy of further *** instance,how the side reactions affect the cyclabilities of commercial LiCoO_(2)/artificial graphite(LCO/AG)cells at different low temperatures,and are the synergistic effects between the side reactions similar to that at room temperature?To answer the issues,the performances of a-3 Ah LCO/AG pouch cell at different temperatures and C-rates are *** illustrate that the obvious increase in charge transferring impedance especially in AG anode at low temperature causes large polarization,then reducing charge-discharge ability and even yielding lithium deposition at−10℃ and 0.5C under 3−4.45 *** from at room temperature,the side reactions such as electrolyte decomposition and electrode structural evolution reduce significantly at low temperature,which contribute to an excellent cyclability after 500 cycles at 0℃.Instead,a series of chain reactions cause a relative lower cyclability at 25℃.Lithium deposition is slight after 5 cycles at−10℃,but become considerably severe after 20 cycles and cause rollover failure of *** these results deepen the understanding on mechanisms for different behaviors of LCO/AG cells at low temperature and provide optimization direction.

Enhancing energy storage density of poly(arylene ether nitrile)via incorporating modified barium titanate nanorods and hotstretching

Dielectric energy storage materials that are extensively employed in capacitors and other electronic devices have attracted increasing attentions amid the rapid progress of electronic ***,the commercialized polymeric and ceramic dielectric materials characterized by low energy storage density face numerous limitations in practical *** this study,we report the simultaneous enhancement of dielectric properties of poly(arylene ether nitrile)(PEN)through the incorporating of sulfonated PEN(SPEN)modified barium titanate nanorods(BTNR)(SPEN@BTNR)and *** is synthesized using a two-step hydrothermal method,aminated with KH550,and then reacted with SPEN to form the cladding-modified SPEN@*** to the intrinsic high permittivity of barium titanate(BT)and enhanced compatibility between SPEN@BTNR and PEN stemming from the cladding of SPEN,the dielectric constant and breakdown strength of SPEN@BTNR/PEN composite are as high as 14.0 at 103 Hz and 198.1 kV/mm at the doping amount of 15 wt.%,*** a result,the energy storage density of SPEN@BTNR/PEN is increased to 2.43 J/cm^(3),compared with that of 0.82 J/cm^(3)for *** addition,derived from the rearrangement of SPEN@BTNR and orientation of PEN after hot-stretching,the dielectric constant and breakdown strength of SPEN@BTNR/PEN with 15 wt.%fillers are further enhanced to 17.1 and 204.8 kV/mm,respectively,resulting in an energy storage density of 3.36 J/cm^(3).The boosting of energy storage density up to 310%provides a new idea for improving the performances of dielectric energy storage materials.

The mechanical behavior of TiNi alloy and Cr12MoV alloy under dynamic impact loading was investigated with a self-made impact testing system. The real-time contact force was measured with a piezoelectric force sensor and digital signal processing system during impact. Equations for predicting instantaneous velocity anti displacement were presented. The results showed that the TiNi alloy exhibited a plateau of maximum contact force with increasing impact height. At the plateau stage, TiNi alloy in the parent phase can absorb impact energy and keep the maximum contact force nearly identical due to its pseudoelasticity.
