It is a common observation that whenever patients arrives at the front desk of a hospital,outpatient clinic,or other health-associated centers,they have to first queue up in a line and wait to fill in their registration form to get *** long waiting time without any status updates is the most common complaint,concerning health *** this paper,UrNext,a location-aware mobile-based solution using Bluetooth low-energy(BLE)technology is presented to solve the ***,a technology-oriented method,the Internet of Things(IoT),has been gaining popularity in helping to solve some of the healthcare sector’s *** implementation of this solution could be illustrated through a simple example of when a patient arrives at a clinic for a *** of having to wait in long lines,that patient will be greeted automatically,receive a push notification of an admittance along with an estimated waiting time for a consultation *** will not only provide the patients with a sense of freedom but would also reduce the uncertainty levels that are generally observed,thus saving both time and *** work aims to improve the clinics’quality of services,organize queues and minimize waiting times,leading to patients’comfort while reducing the burden on nurses and *** results demonstrate that the presented system is successful in its performance and helps achieves a plea-sant and conducive clinic visitation process with higher productivity.

Constrained groove pressing(CGP)is a severe plastic deformation(SPD)technique used as a strengthening method for sheet *** the current work,an optimal/cost-saving design for CGP dies was attained using the stress analysis tool in SolidWorks Simulation Xpress *** study examined low-cost and widely industrially applied aluminium materials,i.e.,pure 1050 Al and 5052 Al *** material was subjected to three passes of the CGP process using a 150 tons capacity *** both materials,inter-pass annealing treatment was undertaken before the third *** effect of the number of CGP passes on the microstructure and tensile properties was studied after each *** CGPed pure 1050 Al with respect to the as-received material,the ultimate tensile strength(UTS),yield strength(YS)and YS/UTS ratio increased with an increasing number of CGP passes until the second pass,while elongation decreased with the number of *** CGPed 5052 Al alloy,the UTS and YS increased after the first pass and then decreased after the second *** in the elongation and YS/UTS ratio of 5052 Al alloy after the CGP process were *** inter-pass annealing and applying the third CGP pass,the strength of pure 1050 Al decreased,and that of 5052 Al alloy increased,which was attributed to the influence of composition on their *** strength-ductility balance decreased with an increasing number of CGP passes in both materials.

The worldwide mortality rate due to cancer is second only to cardiovascular *** discovery of image processing,latest artificial intelligence techniques,and upcoming algorithms can be used to effectively diagnose and prognose cancer faster and reduce the mortality *** applying these latest techniques has increased the survival chances during recent *** research community is making significant continuous progress in developing automated tools to assist dermatologists in decision *** datasets used for the experimentation and analysis are ISBI 2016,ISBI 2017,and HAM *** this work pertained models are used to extract the efficient *** pertained models applied are ResNet,InceptionV3,and classical feature extraction *** that,efficient preprocessing is conducted on dermoscopic images by applying various data augmentation ***,for classification,convolution neural networks were *** classify dermoscopic images on HAM 1000 Dataset,the maximum attained accuracy is 89.30%for the proposed *** other parameters for measuring the performance attained 87.34%(Sen),86.33%(Pre),88.44%(F1-S),and 11.30%false-negative rate(FNR).The class with the highest TP rate is 97.6%for Melanoma;whereas,the lowest TP rate was for the Dermatofibroma *** dataset ISBI2016,the accuracy achieved is 97.0%with the proposed classifier,whereas the other parameters for validation are 96.12%(Sen),97.01%(Pre),96.3%(F1-S),and further 3.7%(FNR).For the experiment with the ISBI2017 dataset,Sen,Pre,F1-S,and FNR were 93.9%,94.9%,93.9%,and 5.2%,respectively.

Native and prosthetic septic arthritis in a university hospital in Saudi Arabia:A retrospective study

BACKGROUND Septic arthritis,whether native or prosthetic,poses a significant challenge in clinical practice due to its potentially devastating *** its clinical importance,there remains a dearth of comprehensive studies and standardized diagnostic criteria,particularly in the Kingdom of Saudi *** To investigate the epidemiology,microbiological profiles,and clinical characteristics of native and prosthetic septic joints in the Saudi Arabian *** Medical records of patients diagnosed with septic arthritis between January 1,2015,and December 31,2022,were retrospectively *** regarding patient demographics,clinical presentation,microbiological cultures,treatment modalities,and outcomes were *** In a retrospective review of 52 cases of septic arthritis,a balanced gender distribution was observed(1:1 ratio),with the knee being the most commonly affected joint(80.8%).Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus predominated in native joints(24.2%),while Brucella *** more prevalent in prosthetic joints(21.1%).Joint preservation was achieved in most cases(84.6%),with no significant difference in clinical features between native and prosthetic ***,certain comorbidities were more common in native joint cases,including renal impairment(P=0.002),hemodialysis(P=0.004),heart disease(P=0.013),and chronic liver disease(P=0.048).At the same time,osteoarthritis was more prevalent in prosthetic joint cases(P=0.013).Vancomycin was the most frequently used antibiotic(26.9%),and most patients received antibiotics before joint aspiration(57.7%).Surgical intervention,predominantly arthrotomy,was required in most cases(32.7%).Notably,a significant association was found between joint type and mortality(odds ratio=0.587,P=0.048),as well as the Charlson comorbidity index and mortality(P=0.001).CONCLUSION This study highlighted distinctive microbiological profiles and etiological factors in septic arthritis cases in the Sau

Objective: To evaluate the antibacterial activity of Egyptian honey against bacteria causing respiratory tract ***: Sputum and throat swab specimens were used, from which five bacterial species were isolated, namely, Klebsiella pneumonia, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Streptococcus pneumonia were isolated,identified and grown on suitable media for further identification or confirmation. Different concentrations(100%, 75% and 25%) of honey and simulated honey solution were used for activity assay and estimation of minimum inhibitory concentration and minimum bactericidal ***: All the tested bacterial isolates were completely susceptible to the 75%concentrations of honey and to the 100% concentration of the simulated honey solution. This may be due to the high osmotic pressure exerted by the high sugar content in both honey samples. Moderate susceptibility of the isolated bacteria to honey at 100%v/v concentration, and resistance to honey at 25% concentration and the 75% and 25%concentrations of simulated honey solution, indicated the presence of other antimicrobial components responsible for the activity other than the osmotic ***, it was suggested that honey showed distinguished antibacterial activities against the most common bacteria causing respiratory infections with varied ***: Honey, a non-toxic, nutritious, safe for human consumption and cheap natural antibacterial agent, should be globalized.

Effect of supplementing layer hen diet with phytogenic feed additives on laying performance, egg quality, egg lipid peroxidation and blood biochemical constituents

This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of supplementing laying hen diet with phytogenic additives on laying performance, egg quality, blood constituents and egg lipid peroxidation. Two hundred Lohmann Brown Lite laying hens were randomly allotted to 4 dietary treatments: control(without phytogenic additive), fennel seeds(5 g/kg), black cumin seeds(5 g/kg) and hot red pepper(5 g/kg).Each of the 4 diets was fed to 5 replicates of 10 hens for 8 weeks. No significant differences were observed in body weight or feed intake between the groups. Dietary inclusion of fennel followed by red pepper improved(P < 0.05) egg weight, egg production, egg mass and feed conversion ratio compared with control. Higher yolk shape index, shell and albumen weight percentages and Haugh unit(P < 0.05)were recorded in the fennel supplemented group compared with control. The egg yolk color score increased by the addition of fennel or hot red pepper in laying hen diets compared with control. The inclusion of black cumin or hot red pepper decreased serum and egg yolk cholesterol and malondialdehyde concentrations(P < 0.05) compared with control. Serum aspartate aminotransferase concentration was lower in black cumin group(P < 0.05) than in other treatments. In conclusion, the best laying performance and egg quality were obtained by dietary inclusion of fennel, followed by hot red pepper and black cumin. Dietary supplementation of black cumin or red pepper may lead to the development of low-cholesterol concentration and better antioxidant capacity of eggs.
