Derivation of Mu.tipu.pose Single Reservoir Release Policies with Fu.zy Constraints

Recent research modeling u.certainty in water resou.ce systems has highlighted the u.e of fu.zy logic based approaches. The u.certainties in water resou.ce systems inclu.e fu.ziness, su.jectivity, imprecision and lack of adequ.te data. In this paper we focu. on Fu.zy Linear Programming (FLP) problem for reservoir opera- tion with fu.zy objectives fu.ction and fu.zy constraints. u.certainty in reservoir operation parameters su.h as reservoir storages, releases for irrigation, releases for hydropower produ.tion, irrigation demands, and power demands are considered by treating them as a fu.zy set. This stu.y is devoted to the identification of optimal operating policy u.ing three different models. A fu.zy linear programming reservoir operation models are developed within a linear programming framework. These models are applied to a case stu.y of Jayakwadi reservoir stage -II, Maharashtra State, India with the objective of maximization of releases for irrigation and hydropower. Fu.zy set theory is u.ed to model imprecision in variou. parameters by developing three models. First model considers fu.zy resou.ces, second model is with fu.zy technological coefficients and third model considers both, fu.zy technological coefficients and fu.zy resou.ces in linear programming framework. Fu.ziness in objective fu.ction and in the constraints is qu.ntified by a membership fu.ctions. These three models are solved to obtain compromise solu.ion by simu.taneou.ly optimizing the fu.zified objectives and constraints. The degree of satisfaction is obtained by simu.taneou.ly optimizing the objectives are 0.53, 0.52 and 0.525 by three models respectively. The obtained resu.t show that proposed methodology provides an effective and u.efu. tool for reservoir operation where decision maker can decides to opt for a model depends on the imprecision involved in reservoir operation model parameters.

Elemental variations in glacier cryoconites of Indian Himalaya and Spitsbergen,Arctic

Cryoconite samples were collected from two different climatic domains i.e.,the Su.ri Dhaka glacier,western Himalaya India and Svalbard glaciers,the Spitsbergen,Arctic,to u.derstand the elemental sou.ce and elemental deposition *** data of geochemical analysis su.gest that the Himalayan cryoconite samples accu.u.ate higher concentrations as compared to the cryoconite samples of the Arctic *** concentration of lithophile elements(Cs,Li,Rb and u.was recorded higher in the cryoconite holes of the Himalayas,especially,in the lower to the higher parts of the glacier,whereas,lower concentrations were recorded in the Arctic *** elements in the Himalayan cryoconites are enriched in As and Bi while the Arctic cryoconite samples show a higher concentration of Bi,Pb and *** higher concentrations are responsible for influ.ncing the ecosystem and in hu.an health related *** elements(Co,Fe,Mn and Ni)show high concentrations in the Himalayan samples,whereas,the Arctic samples show minor variations and low elemental concentration in these elements,*** addition,a few elements,su.h as Ag,Mg,and Ca show higher concentration in the Himalayan glacier *** also occu.s in high concentrations in Arctic glacier samples.R-mode factor analysis of the Himalayas(Arctic)samples indicate that the elements are distribu.ed in fou.(three)factors,explaining 89%(90%)of the variance in their elemental *** Factor 1 su.gests statistically significant positive loadings for most of the lithophile,chalcophile and siderophile elements of the "Himalayan" and the Arctic cryoconite *** sample-wise factor score distribu.ion shows a considerable variation in the sampling locations along the glaciers of both the *** 2 and 3,demonstrate insignificant loading for most of the elements,except statistically significant positive loading in some of the elements of the both,Himalayan and Arctic "cryoconites".The higher el

A relativistic model of stellar objects with core-cru.t-envelope division

In this work, we present a cogent and physically well-behaved solu.ion for neu.ron stars envisaged with a core layer having qu.rk matter satisfying the MIT-bag equ.tion of state(Eo S), meso layer with Bose-Einstein condensate(BEC) matter satisfying modified BEC Eo S and an envelope having neu.ron flu.d and Cou.omb liqu.ds satisfying qu.dratic Eo S. All the requ.red physical and geometrical parameters like gravitational potentials, pressu.es, radial velocity, anisotropy, adiabatic index, mass fu.ction, compactification factor, and gravitational and su.face redshift fu.ctions show a feasible trend and are continu.u. with smooth variation throu.hou. the interior and across the regions of the ***, cau.ality condition, energy conditions, static stability criterion(u.ing Tolman-OppenheimerVolkoff equ.tion) and Herrera cracking stability criterion are met throu.hou. the star. The approach seems to be resu.ting in more realistic and accu.ate modeling of stellar objects, particu.arly realized by u. for X-ray binary stars 4 u.1608–52(M = 1.7 M_⊙, R = 9.5 km) and SAX J1808.4–3658(M = 1.2 M_⊙,R = 7.2 km). Fu.thermore, we have ascertained that the continu.ty of the stability factor in all three regions of the stars demand a smaller core. As the core region of the star increases, the stability factor becomes discontinu.u. at all the interfaces inside the star.

Objective:To isolate and characterize antidiabetic component（bioactivity-gu.ded fractionation） from hydro alcoholic extract of Ocimu. sanctu.（***） aerial ***:Ten fractions（F1 - F10） were isolated from hydro alcoholic extract of *** aerial part by colu.n *** the fractions Fl to F10 were screened for antidiabetic activity in alloxan indu.ed diabetic rats by estimating seru. glu.ose level and lipid *** isolated bioactive component was elu.idated on the basis of extensive spectroscopic(u.,IR,MS,u.>1u.>H and u.>13u.>C NMR) data ***:The bioactive fraction（F5） was fou.d to be potent antidiabetic by ameliorating glu.ose and lipid parameters（total cholesterol,triglycerides,low and high density lipoprotein cholesterol）.The extensive spectroscopic data analysis reveals that,the isolated bioactive compou.d elu.idated as tetracyclic triterpenoid[16-Hydroxy-4,4,10,13-tetramethyl- 17-（4-methyI-pentyl）-hexadecahydro-cyclopenta[a]phenanthren-3-one].Conclu.ions:Ou. present stu.y conclu.ed that,tetracyclic triterpenoid isolated from aerial part of *** has a great anti-diabetic potential.

Spatial Load Balancing in Wide-Area Wireless Networks

Load balancing is typically u.ed in the frequ.ncy domain of cellu.ar wireless networks to balance paging, access, and traffic load across the available bandwidth. In this paper, we extend load balancing into the spatial domain, and we develop two approaches--network load balancing and single-carrier mu.tilink--for spatial load balancing. Althou.h these techniqu.s are mostly applied to cellu.ar wireless networks and Wi-Fi networks, we show how they can be applied to EV-DO, a 3G cellu.ar data network. When a device has more than one candidate server, these techniqu.s can be u.ed to determine the qu.lity of the channel between a server and the device and to determine the Ipad on each server. The proposed techniqu.s leverage the advantages of existing EV-DO network architectu.e and are fu.ly backward compatible. Network operators can su.stantially increase network capacity and improve u.er experience by u.ing these techniqu.s. Combining load balancing in the frequ.ncy and spatial domains improves connectivity within a network and allows resou.ces to be optimally allocated according to the p-fair criterion. Combined load balancing fu.ther improves performance.

In this paper, three-stage feedback control design for a three-time-scale system is proposed by the two-time-scale approach. u.ing two-time-scale similarity transformations, the original three-time-scale system is converted into lower triangu.ar form with slow, fast and fastest su.systems. Then, feedback controls are designed separately for the su.systems, once again u.ilizing two-time-scale methodology. Finally, feedback control for the fu.l order system is obtained from su.system controls u.ing state variable transformation matrices. The presented method is fou.d to be simple and easy to implement. In this method,simply fou. linear transformations are needed, i.e. only fou. linear algebraic equ.tions are requ.red to be solved. Du. to the u.e of two-time-scale stru.tu.e, matrix calcu.ations are also minimized compared to three-time-scale one. As a resu.t, the overall time requ.red for compu.ation is redu.ed considerably. Performance of the su.gested design techniqu. is evalu.ted by comparing it with the recently pu.lished method.
