Much of the genetic predisposition to polyposis,and particularly to serrated polyposis(SP),remains *** germline pathogenic variants in RNF43,a tumor suppressor that exerts negative feedback in the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway,have been causally linked to some SP cases(<2%),a disease associated with increased risk of colorectal cancer(CRC).^(1) Most known hereditary CRC and polyposis genes affect DNA repair,BMP/TGF-β,or Wnt signaling,being the latter associated with adenomatous and serrated polyposis phenotypes.2 Based on this observation,we evaluated the presence and role of germline variants in those pathways in unsolved polyposis patients.

Porous g-C_(3)N_(4)-encapsulated TiO_(2) hollow sphere as a high-performance Z-scheme hybrid for solar-induced photocatalytic abatement of environmentally toxic pharmaceuticals

Herein,we rationally constructed a hybrid heterostructure comprising porous g-C_(3)N_(4)(CN)-encapsulated anatase TiO_(2) hollow spheres(TOHS)via a synthesis method that involves hydrothermal and calcination *** fabricated hybrid,termed CN/TOHS,demonstrated extraordinary activity toward the degradation of environmentally toxic pharmaceutical substances(acetaminophen and ciprofloxacin)in aqueous solutions under simulated sunlight irradiation;the activity of CN/TOHS was superior to that attained for individual TOHS and CN *** particular,the CN/TOHS hybrid containing 13.3 wt.%of CN on TOHS displayed the optimum degradation activity among the tested catalysts used in this study,and it also possessed exceptional recyclability and stability during consecutive degradation *** remarkable photocatalytic activity and stability of the hybrid were predominantly ascribed to the large solid interfacial contact between constituents,TOHS and CN,induced by effective hybrid structure,which boosted the interfacial charge transfer and impeded with the direct recombination of photo-induced ***,the results of the liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis corroborated the effective mineralization of model pharmaceutical pollutants in the presence of the CN/TOHS *** simple interfacial engineering strategy presented in this study offers a potential route for the rational design of novel catalysts for application in environmental remediation and solar energy conversion.

In this study,Differential Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar Interferometry(DInSAR)of artificial Corner Reflectors(CRs)were validated in the area of fast and nonlinear deformation gradient caused by active coal longwall *** Sentinel-1 datasets were processed using conventional DInSAR,Persistent Scatterer Interferometry(PSI),and Small BAseline Subset methods implemented in ENVI SARscape™.For evaluation,leveling and Global Navigation Satellite System(GNSS)measurements were *** the challenge of snow cover,the removal of all winter images was not a successful strategy due to the long temporal baseline and strong movement,which cause phase unwrapping problems and underestimate the real *** results indicate that only conventional DInSAR and SBAS with low network redundancy allow us to capture maximal deformation gradient and the root mean square error calculated between the CRs and the ground truth is on the level of 2–3 cm for the vertical and easting deformation component,*** the small deformation gradient represented by the permanent GNSS station(4 cm/year),all SBAS techniques appeared to be more accurate than DInSAR,which corresponds to higher redundancy and better removal of the atmospheric *** contrast,DInSAR results allowed to capture information about two subsidence basins,which was not possible with SBAS and PSI approaches.

A two-dimensional(2D)/2D hybrid heterojunction with face-to-face interfacial assembly is a desirable dimensionality design with significant potential for various photocatalytic applications due to the large interfacial contact area,which facilitates charge migration and ***,we developed an ef-ficient 2D/2D hybrid heterojunction consisting of BiOIO 3 nanoplates(BIO)and g-C_(3)N_(4) nanosheets(CN)using a simple but effective in situ growth method for photocatalytic aqueous antibiotic degradation and H_(2) *** face-to-face interfacial assembly of the BIO and CN components in the BIO/CN hy-brid heterojunction was verified using electron ***,the BIO/CN hybrid heterojunc-tion outperformed both the BIO and CN counterparts in terms of norfloxacin degradation and H_(2) gen-eration under simulated solar light ***,the photocatalytic performance of the hybrid catalyst remained nearly unchanged throughout five consecutive test *** exceptional performance and stability of the hybrid catalyst are attributable to its extended optical absorption range,large interfa-cial contact area provided by the face-to-face assembly in the 2D/2D hybrid configuration,and enhanced photoexcited charge separation efficiency and redox power of the separated charges,which are supported by an efficient S-scheme charge transfer *** study illuminates the rational construction of novel 2D/2D S-scheme hybrid heterojunction photocatalysts with practical applications in environmental remediation and sustainable energy generation.

The development of a bifunctional photocatalyst that can be utilized for both energy conversion and envi-ronmental remediation is of great practical *** addition,an S-scheme charge transfer process can assist a photocatalyst in efficiently separating photoexcited electrons and holes while maintaining the strong reducibility and oxidizability of the former and the latter,*** developed a bifunctional S-scheme hybrid photocatalyst comprising CdS nanorods and BiOIO_(3)(BIO) nanosheets for efficient antibi-otic degradation and cocatalyst-and sacrificial reagent-free CO_(2) *** combination of visible-light-responsive one-dimensional(1D)CdS and UV-light-responsive 2D BIO resulted in a CdS/BIO hybrid photocatalyst with effective 1D/2D(line)interfacial contact and a broadened optical absorption ***,the CdS/BIO hybrid exhibited exceptional diclofenac degradation and mineralization as well as outstanding CO_(2) reduction activity for CO production,with 95.4%CO selectivity over H_(2)*** exceptional performance of the hybrid catalyst is primarily attributed to the accelerated photoexcited charge transfer caused by the 1D/2D line interfacial contact and the high charge separation and strong redox power of the separated charges,both of which stem from the effective S-scheme charge transfer *** addition,photocorrosion of CdS was substantially mitigated,resulting in the high photocat-alytic performance of the hybrid catalyst even after repeated test *** study provides insight into the rational design of bifunctional S-scheme hybrid photocatalysts for CO_(2) reduction and pollutant degra-dation.

Grain size refinement of magnesium composite alloys by addition of B_2O_3

The high performance magnesium alloy was investigated by adding B2O3 in magnesium and magnesium alloys. Experiments include adding B2O3 in Mg, Mg-Al and Mg-RE alloys, respectively, studying the effects of B2O3 on the microstructure, were studied measuring the change of grain size and microhardness of the materials, discussing the change of grain size, morphology and distribution. The results show that adding 3% or 6%(mass fraction) B2O3 in Mg can bring twinning in Mg, adding B2O3 in Mg-Al alloys and Mg-RE alloys can refine the alloy grain size. Adding 3%B2O3 in Mg-6Al alloys can refine the average grain size by about 5μm, with the average hardness increased by 13.3% (53.3-60.4 HV0.03); adding 6%B2O3 in Mg-6Al alloys can refine the average grain size by about 13μm, with the average hardness increased by 15.8% (53.3-61.73 HV0.03); adding 3% and 6%B2O3 into Mg-6RE alloys can refine the grain size by about 5 and 9μm, respectively, with the average hardness decreased to HV0.03 64.66 and HV0.03 57.86, respectively from HV0.03 88.57. In the Mg-6Al alloy the content of aluminum is increased, while in the Mg-6RE alloy the content of oxygen is decreased. It can be concluded that it is beneficial to develop Mg-Al-B-O particle reinforce composite alloys, and it is feasible to develop nanometer crystallization of block material by Mg-B-O-RE.

Development of magnesium composite alloy by a new method combining B_2O_3 addition and melt stirring

For developing high performance magnesium alloys, a new method in combination of B2O3 addition and melt stirring was applied. When 0, 3%, 6% and 12%( mass fraction) B2O3 was added into pure Mg, many twins were produced in each alloy. The average grain size of Mg was about 200μm. In Mg-6Al alloy, the grain size is decreased from 50 to 35μm by B2O3 addition. In Mg-6RE (rare earth) alloys, the grain size is decreased from 35 to 15μm. The grain size of Mg-9Al- 6Ti-3B2O3 alloy is about 5μm. The hardness of pure Mg does not change by B2O3 addition. In Mg-6Al alloy, the hardness is increased by addition of 3% B2O3, however, the hardness of Mg-6RE alloy is decreased by B2O3 addition. Addition of B2O3 into Mg-Al, Mg-RE and Mg-Al-Ti alloys makes the fine grain structures, the hardness of Mg-RE alloy is decreased. This strange behavior may be interpreted with existence of many fine pores in the alloy. The mechanical properties of composite Mg-9Al-6Ti with 3%B2O3 are higher than those of AZ91C. The present results demonstrate the potential of this new method for developing high performance magnesium alloys.

In the present study, the conventional process of Compo-casting was carried and the microstructural and mechanical propertied were then investigated. The matrix alloy used was Mg-6Al, and B2O3 was added into Mg-Al alloys was investigated at two levels of 3 and 6wt%. The other experimental materials were NaCl and CaCl2. The microstructures were of the samples analyzed with Optical Microscopy, SEM and XRD, and the mechanical properties were determined by micro-hardness and tensile test. The results showed that the mechanical properties of Mg- 6Al-3B2O3- 1NaCl- 1CaCl2 increased and the microstructure was satisfactory, for a cast alloy, *** tensile strength was 175MPa.

Fixed-Bed Column Adsorption Modeling of MnO₄- Ions from Acidic Aqueous Solutions on Activated Carbons Prepared with the Biomass

Activated carbons calcined at 400˚C and 600˚C (AC-400 and AC-600), prepared using palm nuts, collected in the town of Franceville in Gabon, were used to study the dynamic adsorption of MnO4- ions in acidic media on fixed bed column and on the kinetic modeling of experimental data of breakthrough curves of MnO4- ions obtained. Results on the adsorption of MnO4- ions in fixed-bed dynamics obtained on AC-400 and AC-600 adsorbents beds indicated that the AC-400 bed appears to be the most efficient in removing MnO4- ions in acidic media. Indeed, the adsorbed amounts, the adsorbed capacities at saturation and the elimination percentage of MnO4- ions obtained with AC-400 (31.24 mg;52.06 mg·g-1 and 41.65% respectively) were higher compared to those obtained with AC-600 (9.87 mg;16.45 mg·g-1 and 17.79% respectively). The breakthrough curves kinetic modeling revealed that the Thomas model and the pseudo-first-order kinetic model were the most suitable models to describe the adsorption of MnO4- ions on adsorbents studied in our experimental conditions. The results of the intraparticle diffusion model showed that intraparticle diffusion was involved in the adsorption mechanism of MnO4- ions on investigated adsorbents and was not the limiting step and the only process controlling MnO4- ions adsorption. In contrast to AC-400, the intraparticle diffusion on AC-600 bed plays an important role in the adsorption mechanism of MnO4- ions.

Study of the Temperature-Programmed Desorption of Carbon Dioxide (CO₂) on Zeolites X Modified with Bivalent Cations

Study of physisorbed and chemisorbed carbon dioxide (CO2) species was carried out on the NaX zeolite modified by cationic exchanges with bivalent cations (Ca2+ and Ba2+) by temperature-programmed desorption of CO2 (CO2-TPD). Others results were obtained by infrared to complete the study. The results of this research showed, in the physisorption region (213 - 473 K), that the cationic exchanges on NaX zeolite with bivalent cations increase slightly the interactions of CO2 molecule with adsorbents and/or cationic site. Indeed, the desorption energies of physisorbed CO2 obtained on the reference zeolite NaX (13.5 kJ·mol-1) are lower than that of exchanged zeolites E-CaX and E-BaX (15.77 and 15.17 kJ·mol-1 respectively). In the chemisorbed CO2 region (573 - 873 K), the desorption energies related to desorbed species (bidentate carbonates: CO32-) on the exchanged zeolites E-CaX and E-BaX are about 81 kJ·mol-1, higher than the desorbed species (bicarbonates: HCO32-) on the reference R-NaX (62 kJ·mol-1). In addition, the exchanged E-BaX zeolite develops the secondary adsorption sites corresponding to bicarbonates species with desorption energies of 35 kJ·mol-1 lower to desorption energies of bicarbonates noted on the reference zeolite NaX.
