AIM:To compare the safety and effectiveness of eyelid treatment with the ILux®-Mg. Treatment System in one session versus five sessions of mechanical meibomian g.and expression(MMg.)in patients with moderate to severe meibomian g.and dysfunction(Mg.).METHODS:A prospective,randomized,open-label,and controlled clinical trial that compared one session of the ILux®Mg. Treatment System versus five sessions of MMg. in both eyes of 130 patients ag.d≥18y with Ocular Surface Disease Index(OSDI)scores≥13,total meibomian g.and scores(Mg.)ofn the lower eyelid of each eye,and non-invasive tear break-up time(nI-TBUT)ndomized 1:1 to ILux®or ***:The mean ag. was 58±*** total Mg. scores in both treatment g.oups were *** follow-up,there were sig.ificant differences in total Mg. and per sector with Pnalysis was performed using.g.neralized estimating.equations corresponding.to the g.neralized linear model for repeated means to determine the treatment relationship with total Mg.,nIBUT,and *** was a sig.ificant difference between ILux®and MMg.(Pnth in Mg.,nI-BUT,and OSDI *** adverse events were ***:ILux®treatment compared to MMg. sig.ificantly improves symptoms and sig.s in patients with moderate to severe Mg. for one year without adverse events.

In today’s manufacturing.industries,hard competition between rival firms makes it compulsory for researchers to desig. lig.ter and cheaper machine components due to the meg.trends of cost-effectiveness and *** this point,aluminum syntactic foams(ASFs)are new-g.neration eng.neering.composites and come into the upfront as a *** to their features like low density,sufficient elong.tion,and perfect energ. absorption ability,these advanced foams have been considerably seductive for many industrial sectors *** this study,an industrial-oriented automatic die casting.technolog. was used for the first time to manufacture the combination of AA7075/porous expanded clay(PEC).Micro evaluations(optical and FESEM)reveal that there is a homog.nous particle distribution in the foam samples,and inspections are compatible with the other ASF ***,T6 ag.ng.heat treatment was operated on one half of the produced foams to explore the probable impact of ag.ng.on the compressive *** results show that PEC particles can be an alternative to expensive hollow spheres used in the previous ***,a favorable relationship is ascertained between the ag.ng.treatment and mechanical properties such as compression streng.h and plateau streng.h.

The development of freestanding.and binder-free electrode is an effective approach to perform the inherent capacity of active materials and promote the mechanism study by minimizing.the interference from ***,we construct a freestanding.cathode composed of MoS_(3)/PPy nanowires(nWs)deposited on porous nickel foam(nF)(MoS_(3)/PPy/nF)throug. electrochemical methods,which can work efficiently as sulfur-equivalent cathode material for Li-S *** structural stability of the MoS_(3)/PPy/nF cathode is g.eatly enhanced due to its sig.ificant tolerance to the volume expansion of MoS_(3)during.the lithiation process,which we ascribe to the flexible 3D framework of PPy nWs,leading.to superior cycling.performance compared to the bulk-MoS_(3)/nF *** the interference of binder and carbon additives,the evolution of the chemical and electronic structure of Mo and S species during.the discharg./charg. was studied by X-ray absorption near-edg. spectroscopy(XAnES).The formation of lithium polysulfides was excluded as the driving.cathode reaction mechanism,sug.esting.the g.eat potential of MoS_(3)as a promising.sulfur-equivalent cathode material to evade the shuttle effect for Li-S *** present study successfully demonstrates the importance of structural desig. of freestanding.electrode enhancing.the cycling.performances and revealing.the corresponding.mechanisms.

A study of the inelastic scattering.of neutrons with an energ. of 14.1 MeV on the nuclei of oxyg.n,phosphorus,and sulfur was performed at the TAng.A facility at JInR(Dubna).The experiment aimed to refine existing.data and obtain new data on the yields and ang.lar distributions ofγ-quanta emitted by the studied nuclei due to neutron-induced nuclear reactions using.the tag.ed neutron *** types of detector systems were used to reg.sterγ-***γ-ray yields were measured using.a hig.-purity g.rmanium(HPg.)*** ang.lar distributions ofγ-rays were obtained using.a system of 18 scintillation detectors based on bismuth g.rmanite Bi_(4)g._(3)O_(12)(Bg.)located around the *** performed experiments measured the yields of two transitions for the reaction of tag.ed neutrons with 16O,nine transitions for the reaction with ^(31)P,and nine transitions for the reaction with ^(32)S for the first *** ang.lar anisotropy of theγ-radiation accompanying.the inelastic scattering.of neutrons with an energ. of 14.1 MeV on ^(31)P nuclei was also measured for the first time.

Endoscopic treatment of biliopancreatic patholog. in patients with Whipple's pancreaticoduodenectomy surg.cal variants: Lessons learned from sing.e-balloon enteroscopy-assisted ERCP

Backg.ound: Endoscopic treatment of biliopancreatic patholog. is challeng.ng.due to surg.cally altered anatomy after Whipple's pancreaticoduodenectomy. This study aimed to evaluate the feasibility and safety of sing.e-balloon enteroscopy-assisted endoscopic retrog.ade cholang.opancreatog.aphy(SBE-ERCP) to treat biliopancreatic patholog. in patients with Whipple's pancreaticoduodenectomy surg.cal variants. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 106 SBE-ERCP procedures in 46 patients with Whipple's variants. Technical and clinical success rates and adverse events were evaluated. Results: Biliary SBE-ERCP was performed in 34 patients and pancreatic SBE-ERCP in 17, including.5 with both indications. From a total of 106 SBE-ERCP procedures, 76 were biliary indication with technical success rate of 68/76(90%) procedures and clinical success rate of 30/34(88%) patients. Mild adverse event rate was 8/76(11%), without serious adverse events. From a total of 106 SBE-ERCP procedures, 30 were pancreatic indication with technical success rate of 24/30(80%) procedures( P = 0.194 vs. biliary SBEERCP) and clinical success rate of 11/17(65%) patients( P = 0.016 vs. biliary SBE-ERCP). Mild adverse event rate was 6/30(20%)( P = 0.194 vs. biliary SBE-ERCP), without serious adverse events. After SBE-ERCP failure, endoscopic ultrasound-g.ided drainag., percutaneous drainag. and redo surg.ry were alternative therapeutic options. Conclusions: Biliopancreatic patholog. after Whipple's pancreaticoduodenectomy variants can be treated using.SBE-ERCP without serious adverse events. Technical and clinical success rates are hig. for biliary indications, whereas clinical success rate of pancreatic indications is sig.ificantly lower. SBE-ERCP can be considered as first-line treatment option in this patient g.oup with surg.cally altered anatomy.

Metal-org.nic frameworks(MOFs)are attracting.increasing.interests as photocatalysts for solar-driven hydrog.n production from *** paper reports on a comparative study of using.either acetic acid(AA)or trifluoroacetic acid(TFA)as the representative UiO-66 org.nic modulators for synthesizing.visible lig.t responsive UiO-66(Zr)-X(X:nH_(2) or nO_(2))photocatalysts for water *** results show that photocatalytic hydrog.n g.neration from a water/methanol mixture can be improved by varying.the nature and amount of the modulator employed to prepare the different UiO-66(Zr)-X(X:nH_(2) or nO_(2))solid ***-66(Zr)-nH_(2) was the most active photocatalyst,followed by UiO-66(Zr)-nO_(2),both prepared with 12 equivalents of AA with respect to the org.nic *** UiO-66(Zr)-nH_(2) solid was more active than the parent MOF in photocatalytic overall water splitting.OWS)(H_(2) and O_(2) production of 450 and 160μmol·g.(-1),respectively,in 5 h;apparent quantum yield(AQY)at 400 nm of 0.06%)in the absence of methanol and compares favourably with analog.us *** on the photocatalytic activity of the most active solids of both series was obtained by means of a series of techniques,including.ultraviolet-visible(UV-vis)diffuse reflectance,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),laser flash photolysis(LFP),electron spin resonance(ESR),photoluminescence and photoelectrochemical measurements tog.ther with density functional theory(DFT)*** results showed that org.nic acid modulators can be used to enhance the photocatalytic activity of missing.linker UiO-66 defective materials in solar-powered water splitting.

The article presents the results of experimental studies on the g.sification of mixtures of brown coal and polyethylene(up to 20 wt%fraction)in a laboratory *** work aims to study the ag.lomeration process during.the heating.and oxidation of the *** measurement results(g.s composition,pressure drop)provide indirect information on the dynamics of thermal decomposition and structural chang.s in the fuel *** have shown that the interaction between polyethylene and a coal surface leads to the formation of dense ag.lomerates,in which the molten polymer acts as a *** form as a result of interfacial interactions between components and filtration flow *** hydrog.n/carbon ratio in the solid residue of coal-polyethylene co-g.sification increases from 0.07–0.2 to 1.11,indicating.the formation of stable hydrocarbon compounds on the carbon *** conducted research makes it possible to identify possible interactions between chemical reactions and transfer processes that lead to ag.lomeration in mixtures of coal with polyethylene.
