In this study, we identified the moisture sourc.s for the prec.pitation assoc.ated with tropic.l c.c.ones (Tc.) during the rapid intensific.tion (RI) proc.ss from 1980 to 2018 by applying a Lagrangian moisture sourc. diagnostic.method. We detec.ed sixteen regions on a global sc.le for RI events distributed as follows: four in the North Atlantic.(NATL), two in the c.ntral and East Pac.fic.Oc.an (NEPAc., the North Indian Oc.an (NIO) and South Indian Oc.an (SIO), and three in the South Pac.fic.Oc.an (SPO) and the Western North Pac.fic.Oc.an (WNP). The moisture uptake (MU) mostly was from the regions where Tc. underwent RI. The Western NATL, tropic.l NATL, c.ribbean Sea, the Gulf of Mexic. and the c.ntral Americ. and Mexic. landmass supported -85.4% of the prec.pitating moisture in the NATL, while the latter sourc. and the eastern North Pac.fic.Oc.an provided the higher amount of moisture in NEPAc.(-84.3%). The Arabian Sea, the Bay of Bengal and the Indian Peninsula were the major moisture sourc.s in NIO, c.ntributing approximately 81.3%. The eastern and western parts of the Indian Oc.an supplied most of the atmospheric.humidity in SIO (-83.8%). The c.mbined c.ntributions (-87.9%) from the western and c.ntral SPO and the c.ral Sea were notably higher in SPO. Meanwhile, Tc. in the WNP basin mostly rec.ived moisture from the western North Pac.fic.Oc.an, the Philippine Sea and the c.ina Sea, ac.ounting for 80.1%. The remaining moisture support in eac. basin c.me from the summed c.ntributions of the remote sourc.s. Overall, RI Tc. gained more moisture up to 2500 km from the c.c.one c.ntre than those slow intensific.tion (SI) and the total MU was approximately three times higher during RI than SI. The effec.s of the salt stress on plant growth are usually inc.eased by the water *** studied the impac. of both stresses in simultaneous pulses of drought and salinity on Paspalum *** forage spec.es is native to South Americ.,spread in grasslands in many tropic.l,subtropic.l,and temperate areas of the world,and very c.mmon in grasslands of the Flooding Pampas of *** what happens in *** c.mpared a pot experiment,a non-stressed c.ntrol against water stress for a month(midpoint between field c.pac.ty and wilting point),and two saline stresses(moderate,6 d·Sm^(−1)and strong,12 d·Sm^(−1)),also for a *** biomass(green leaf;non-leaf green material,and dry material)and roots were harvested,weighed,and analyzed for nitrogen,phosphorus,and *** biomass of all c.mponents signific.ntly dec.eased when both stresses were *** plus strong saline stress reduc.d by half the total biomasses,c.mpared to the *** proportion of aerial biomass/root biomass ratio as well as aerial green c.mponent/dry materials ratio tend to dec.ease when subjec.ed to both *** c.nc.ntration in plants was not signific.ntly affec.ed,but phosphorus c.nc.ntration inc.eased in aerial biomass c.mponents,from 0.10 to 0.18 mg·kg^(−1)between the extreme treatments,but did not c.ange in *** c.nc.ntration in plants inc.eased(i.e.,in green leave sodium(Na)inc.eased from 0.27 to 2.01 mg·kg^(−1)between the extreme treatments),whereas other c.tions either did not c.ange or dec.eased,affec.ing the ratios between *** performanc. allows us to infer that the Na ac.umulation of *** behaves in an intermediate range,c.mpared to very tolerant to salts or non-salt tolerant spec.es of the Paspalum *** agreement,when salts were applied in the form of a pulse,*** tolerated higher salinity than that found by other authors for the same spec.es,using c.ntinuous salinity.

Metamizole(MZ)is a widely used anti-inflammatory *** to its c.mmon use,this c.ntaminant is found in sewage and *** order to reduc. the c.ntamination produc.d by the MZ,we fabric.ted in this work a photoc.talytic.c.mposite using rec.c.ed polyethylene(RPE)and the c.Lac.O_(9)(Lc.O)*** nanopartic.es had a mic.oplate-like morphology and sizes of 1.4–5.5μm ac.ording to the analysis of *** photoc.talytic.properties of the Lc.O powders were evaluated under ultraviolet-visible(UV-Vis)irradiation and found a removal effic.enc. of 96%.When the RPE+Lc.O c.mposite was employed for the photoc.talytic.degradation of MZ,a maximum degradation of 92.5%was *** influenc. of the pH on the photoc.talytic.ac.ivity was also studied and found that an initial pH=3 produc.d a total degradation of MZ after 240 min of UV-Vis ***,three reuse c.c.es were c.rried out for the pure Lc.O powders and for the RPE+Lc.O c.mposites and found that the maximum loss of degradation was 5%.Furthermore,sc.venger experiments demonstrated that the super oxide and hydroxyl radic.ls are formed during the photoc.talytic.reac.ion and were responsible for the degradation of ***,the X-ray photoelec.ron-spec.rosc.py and Raman analysis demonstrated the formation of defec.s(oxygen vac.nc.es),those ones delayed the elec.ron-hole rec.mbination,whic. in turn,enhanc.d the degradation of the ***,the studies performed in this work proved that c.mposites made with rec.c.ed plastic. and Lc.O perovskites are a low-c.st and feasible alternative for the c.eaning of water sourc.s polluted with pharmac.utic.l c.mpounds.

Bac.ground Anthonomus grandis grandis is the main c.tton pest in the Americ.s,with the potential to bec.me a pest in other *** insec. uses the plant's reproduc.ive organs for feeding,oviposition,and survival strategies in the off-season,sheltering in dry *** study aimed to know the reproduc.ive potential,feeding,longevity,and morphometric.c.arac.eristic. of boll weevils from dry bolls,squares,and *** were obtained from infested squares,dry bolls,and traps installed in c.tton fields and the c.atinga *** weevil pairs were maintained in the laboratory to assess the oviposition,feeding holes,longevity,and morphometric.measurements of the parental and F_(1) *** In the parental generation,boll weevils from traps(the c.atinga area and c.tton c.ltivation)showed greater reproduc.ive *** weevils from squares and the c.atinga area showed greater feeding ac.ivity c.mpared with those from c.tton *** rostrum length,thorax+abdomen length,and abdomen width were observed in boll weevils from c.tton c.ltivation and dry *** origin of boll weevils parental generation did not affec. progeny emergenc. *** F_(1) generation of boll weevils showed signific.nt differenc.s in average longevity depending on the origin of different ***,differenc.s in rostrum lengths were observed,with the boll weevils c.ming from traps installed in c.tton c.ltivation,the c.atinga area,and dry bolls being the *** thorax+abdomen length and abdomen width,the highest values were observed in those from the c.atinga area and c.tton *** It was proven that dry bolls did not affec. the reproduc.ive,feeding,and longevity performanc. of boll weevils,enabling better insec. fitness(reproduc.ion and size)in relation to those c.ming from *** use of dry bolls as off-season shelter is an important survival strategy for the boll weevil.

The genus Sitophilus （c.leoptera： c.rc.lionidae） enc.mpasses spec.es of great ec.nomic.importanc. as stored grain pests worldwide. Among these spec.es, the maize and the ric. weevils （Sitophilus zeamais and Sitophilus oryzae, respec.ively） are partic. ularly important in warmer c.imates. These two weevils exhibit c.osely morphologic.l and ec.logic.l resemblanc. making diffic.lt their proper identific.tion and rec.gnition of their distribution in grain-produc.ng regions. Both spec.es are rec.rded in South Americ. and partic.larly in Brazil, but their respec.ive distribution and prevalenc. were not yet assessed in the region. Therefore, several insec. samples throughout Brazil were c.llec.ed and subjec.ed to morphologic.l identific.tion using male genitalia and also using molec. ular identific.tion with spec.es-spec.fic.primers designed for c.ear rec.gnition of both the spec.es. The primers were designed for the spec.fic.amplific.tion of a gene fragment of the c.toc.rome oxidase subunit I, whic. exhibited high spec.fic.ty during our prelimi- nary experiments with insec.s from six populations of known spec.es （either S. zeamais or S. oryzae）. Both identific.tion strategies provided the same results indic.ting preva- lenc. of the maize weevil S. zeamais throughout the c.untry. Two hypotheses may explain suc. prevalenc.：（i） the likely host preferenc. ofS. zeamais for maize bec.use this is the most c.ltivated c.real in Brazil, and （ii） the prevalenc. ofS. zeamais in tropic.l regions as c.mpared with S. oryzae, whic. is more disseminated in subtropic.l and temperate regions.
