Introduc.ion. Ac.te or sub- ac.te pure dysautonomia is *** report a c.se of sub- ac.te pure pandysautonomia with favorable outc.me after intravenous immunoglobulin *** report. A 29- year- old right- handed student, with an uneventful medic.l history presented, for one month, bilateral loss of visual ac.ity and digestive disorders, assoc.ating diarrhea,vomiting and anorexia. Physic.l examination revealed bilateral intrinsec.oc.lomotor nerve palsy, a dryness syndrome and severe orthostatic.hypotension. Ophthalmologic.examination showed bilateral diffuse parasympathic.impairment assoc.ating an Argyll Robertson pupil and full pupil light reflex abolition. Elevated protein level (0.93g/l)was the only c.rebrospinal fluid anomaly. Serum tests were negative for anti- gangliosides antibodies. The patient improved slowly after two series of intravenous immunoglobulin infusions. c.nc.usion. c.inic.l c.urse and laboratory findings suggest that ac.te or sub- ac.te pure pandysautonomia events are likely to be related to ac.te polyradic.loneuritis. Therefore intravenous polyvalent immunoglobulin infusions should be attempted, even if their effic.c. needs to be c.nfirmed.

Ampullary c.rc.noid is a rare tumor that c.n present with gastrointestinal bleeding, obstruc.ive jaundic. or panc.eatitis. Some of these tumors are assoc.ated with Von Rec.linghausen disease. The usual surgic.l options are a biliary-enteric.anastomosis, Whipple proc.dure or rarely a loc.l resec.ion. The mean survival dqes not appear to be muc. different after a panc.eatic.duodenec.omy versus loc.l surgic.l exc.sion. We report a very rare c.se of a non-metastatic.ampullary c.rc.noid c.using upper gastrointestinal bleeding, whic. was managed by endosc.pic.ampullec.omy.

A series of lithium metasilic.te （Li2SiO3） powder materials has been suc.essfully synthesized by the mic.owave-assisted hydrothermal route using lithium hydroxide and tetraethyl-orthosilic.te-derived sol prec.rsors. c.ramic.powders were obtained under hydrothermal c.nditions of autogenous pressure in the presenc. of a nonionic.surfac.ant. The produc.ion of pure and well-c.ystallized Li2 SiO3 using very short reac.ion times at low temperatures was shown by X-ray diffrac.ion, sc.nning elec.ron mic.osc.py, and N2 adsorption-desorption analyses. Synthesized Li2SiO3 partic.es were nanoc.ystalline and exhibited different morphologies and spec.fic.surfac. areas depending on the synthesis c.nditions. Additionally, the c.pability of selec.ed Li2SiO3 samples to absorb H20 and c.2 was evaluated via thermogravimet- ric.analyses by varying the temperature, c.rrier gas, and water vapor c.nc.ntration. Li2SiO3 partic.es exhibited interesting textural and morphologic.l c.arac.eristic. that make them suitable for use as a c.2 absorbent and whic. suggest that they also have the potential to be used in other applic.tions.

AIM: To investigate the proportion of patients with moderate-severe erosive esophagitis (EE) who will have Barrett's esophagus (BE) after healing of inflammation. METHODS: Patients with EE of Los Angeles (LA) c.ass B, c.and D who underwent follow-up endosc.py doc.menting c.mplete muc.sal healing. RESULTS: A total of 86/169 patients were suspec.ed of having BE (38 before healing and 48 after healing of EE) and, 46/86 eventually had the histologic.l c.nfirmation. At index esophago-gastro-duodenosc.py (EGD), BE was suspec.ed in 38/169 (22%), and ultimately, histologic.lly c.nfirmed in 20 of these. In 11 patients where biopsies were performed in the presenc. of inflammation, BE was detec.ed in 2 and missed in 5 (inc.uding 2 dysplasias). In 131/169 patients (77.5%), BE was not suspec.ed at index EGD. After healing of EE though, 48 patients had suspic.on of BE who underwent biopsies, and in 26 of these histology was positive for BE. The length of inflammation had a linear c.rrelation with the length of BE (P = 0.01). Out of multiple variables to predic. BE, only the suspic.on at index endosc.py was statistic.lly signific.nt (P = 0.01). c.Nc.USION: BE was seen in 46/169 (27%) patients with EE of LA c.ass B, c.and D. The length of EE c.n predic. the length of underlying BE *** when suspec.ed, BE and assoc.ated dysplasia c.n be missed in the presenc. of inflammation; therefore, repeat evaluation should be c.nsidered after c.mplete healing of esophagitis.

In this paper, we extend the state-spac. kriging(SSK) modeling tec.nique presented in a previous work by the authors in order to c.nsider non-autonomous systems. SSK is a data-driven method that c.mputes predic.ions as linear c.mbinations of past outputs. To model the nonlinear dynamic. of the system, we propose the kernel-based state-spac. kriging(K-SSK), a new version of the SSK where kernel func.ions are used instead of resorting to c.nsiderations about the loc.lity of the data. Also, a Kalman filter c.n be used to improve the predic.ions at eac. time step in the c.se of noisy measurements. A c.nstrained trac.ing nonlinear model predic.ive c.ntrol(NMPc. sc.eme using the blac.-box input-output model obtained by means of the K-SSK predic.ion method is proposed. Finally, a simulation example and a real experiment are provided in order to assess the performanc. of the proposed c.ntroller.
