OBJECTIVE:To characterize the chemical profile of methanolic crude extract and its fractions(Ethyl acetate,n-butanol and aqueous)using liquid chromatographymass spectrometry(LC-MS)analysis,to evaluate their biological and pharmacological properties:antioxidant(1,1-diphenyl-2-pycrylhydrazyl(DPPH),2,2′-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonic)(ABTS·+),galvinoxyle free radical scavenging,reducing power,phenanthroline andβcarotene-linoleic acid bleaching assays),enzymes inhibitory ability against several enzymes[acetylcholinesterase(AChE),buthyrylcholinesterase(BChE),urease and tyrosinase].METHODS:Secondary metabolites were extracted from Tamarix africana air-dried powdered leaves by maceration,the crude extract was fractionated using different solvents with different polarities(Ethyl acetate,n-butanol and aqueous).The amount of polyphenols,flavonoids and tannins(hydrolysable and condensed)were determined using colorimetric assays.A variety of in vitro biochemical tests were carried out to assess antioxidant and oxygen radical scavenging properties using DPPH,ABTS,galvinoxyle free radical scavenging,reducing power,phenanthroline andβcarotene-linoleic acid bleaching *** effect was examined against acetylcholinesterase and buthyrylcholinesterase *** anti-urease and antityrosinase activities were performed against urease and tyrosinase enzymes *** extract’s components were identified using LC-MS and compared to reference ***:The results indicated that Tamarix africana extracts presented a powerful antioxidant activity in all assays and exhibited a potent inhibitory effect against AChE and BChE as well as urease and tyrosinase ***-MS analysis identified amount of eight phenolic compounds were revealed in this analysis;Apigenin,Diosmin,Quercetin,Quercetine-3-glycoside,Apigenin 7-O glycoside,Rutin,neohesperidin and Wogonin in methanolic extract and its different fractions of Tamarix africana from ***

Effects of Eriobotrya japonica(Lindl.) flower extracts on mercuric chloride-induced hepatotoxicity in rats

Mercury(II) is an important factor in hepatotoxicity that can enter the body through marine diets and *** the present study,the protective effect of the Eriobotrya japonica flower extract(EJFE) on HgCl 2-induced hepatotoxicity was *** mg/kg of mercuric chloride in drinking water was given to rats either with saline or EJFE(100 and 200 mg/kg as intraperitoneal(IP)) for 30 *** mercury levels in different groups of liver tissues of the rats were measured with flameless atomic absorption spectroscopy(F-AAS).Also,mercury accumulation in the liver of the rats was modeled by using a parallel chemical kinetic *** results showed that HgCl 2-induced oxidative damage led to a significant decrease in glutathione(gSH) and the total antioxidant capacity(TAC) levels,and to a significant increase in lipid peroxidation *** mercury was 14.47% more in the livers of the stress groups than in those of the control groups(Pnt of Hg was adjusted to 13.49% and 13.93% in groups treated with 100 and 200 mg/kg of EJFE respectively,as compared with stress groups(Pnalysis of EJFE revealed that hesperetin and gallic acid are the major antioxidants in *** demonstrate that flowers of the Eriobotrya japonica cause a significant protection against HgCl 2 induced hepatotoxicity in all diagnostic parameters by strengthening the antioxidant defense mechanisms and they may have a therapeutic function in free radical mediated diseases.

Hemogram Parameters in Fibromyalgia and Effects of Wet Cupping Therapy on Hemogram Parameters

Objective:Wet cupping therapy(WCT)is one of the complementary and traditional therapies that are still must be scientifically *** study aimed to assess hemogram parameters that are subclinical inflammatory markers in patients with fibromyalgia syndrome(FMS)and observe how they were affected with ***:The present study consisted of two groups;patient group included participants who were diagnosed with FMS and who received WCT and control group included healthy participants who received WCT within the concept of preventive ***:neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio(nLR)and platelet-lymphocyte ratio(PLR)values were higher in the patient group(P=0.029and P=0.003,respectively).Considering that the participants had FMS,the optimal cutoff value for PLR was≥1.62,sensitivity was 70%,specificity was 56%,positive predictive value was 61.7%,and negative predictive value was 65.3%.Receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve revealed a significant sensitivity and specificity(ROC area=0.664),(confidence interval[CI]:0.530–0.781)(Pnsitivity was 60%,specificity was 83%,positive predictive value was 78%,and negative predictive value was 67%.ROC curve revealed a statistically significant sensitivity and specificity(ROC area=0.726),(CI:0.59–0.83)(Pnsitivity was 83%,specificity was 40%,positive predictive value was 58%,and negative predictive value was 70%.ROC curve revealed a significant sensitivity and specificity(ROC area=0.65),(CI:0.51–0.76)(P=0.036).Conclusion:nLR,PLR,and thrombocyte count parameters can be useful in the process of diagnosing *** addition,nLR,PLR,and MPV decreased in patients who received WCT.

The Effect of IMF-Bz and F10.7 Solar Flux on neutral Molecule Density of Ionospheric E-Region

In this study, the relationship between the neutral components （n2 and 02） in the E-region of the ionosphere （at 110 km altitude） for the Singapore （01.23 n; 103.55 E） station in the equatorial region and the FI0.7 solar flux and z-component of Interplanetary Magnetic Field （IMF-Bz） was investigated. This relationship was determined by means of statistical multiple regression model. As a result, it was observed that the changes in F10.7 solar flux and IMF-Bz were inversely proportional to the changes in n2 and 02. 92% and 83% of changes in n2 and O2 were found to be explained by F10.7 solar flux and IMF-Bz, respectively. When the F10.7 solar flux is changed by 1 s.f.u., it causes a decrease of 2.61×10TM m-3 in n2 and 2.96×1014 m-3 in O2. Change of I nT in IMF-Bz causes a decrease of 9.95× 1015 m-3 in n2 and 1.69× 1015 m-3 in O2.

Comparison between primary angioplasty and thrombolytic therapy on erectile dysfunction after acute ST elevation myocardial infarction

Acute ST elevation myocardial infarction has high mortality and morbidity rates. The majority of patients with this condition face erectile dysfunction in addition to other health problems. In this study, we aimed to investigate the effects of two different reperfusion strategies, primary angioplasty and thrombolytic therapy, on the prevalence of erectile dysfunction after acute myocardial infarction. Of the 71 patients matching the selection criteria, 45 were treated with primary coronary angioplasty with stenting, and 26 were treated with thrombolytic agents. Erectile function was evaluated using the International Index of Erectile Function in the hospital to characterize each patient＇s sexual function before the acute myocardial infarction and 6 months after the event. The time required to restore blood flow to the artery affected by the infarct was found to be associated with the occurrence of erectile dysfunction after acute myocardial infarction. The increase in the prevalence of erectile dysfunction after acute myocardial infarction was 44.4% in the angioplasty group and 76.9% in the thrombolytic therapy group （P= 0.008）. In conclusion, this study has shown that reducing the time of reperfusion decreases the erectile dysfunction prevalence, and primary angioplasty is superior to thrombolytic therapy for decreasing the prevalence of erectile dysfunction after acute myocardial infarction.
