Various issues concerning the progress of rice research are related to ambiguous germplasm identification, difficulty in tracing pedigree information, and lack of integration between genetic resources, characterization, breeding, evaluation and utilization data. These issues are the constraints in developing knowledge-intensive crop improvement programs. The rapid growth, development and the global spread of modern information and communication technology allow quick adoption in fundamental research. Thus, there is a need to provide an opportunity for the establishment of services which describe the rice information for better accessibility to information resources used by researchers to enhance the competitiveness. This work reviews some of available resources on rice bioinformatics and their roles in elucidating and propagating biological and genomic information in rice research. These reviews will also enable stakeholders to understand and adopt the change in research and development and share knowledge with the global community of agricultural scientists. The establishment like International Rice Information System, Rice Genome Research Project and Integrated Rice Genome Explorer are major initiatives for the improvement of rice. Creation of databases for comparative studies of rice and other cereals are major steps in further improvement of genetic compositions. This paper will also highlight some of the initiatives and organizations working in the field of rice improvement and explore the availability of the various web resources for the purpose of research and development of rice. We are developing a meta web server for integration of online resources such as databases, web servers and journals in the area of bioinformatics. This integrated platform, with acronym iBIRA, is available online at http：//***. The resources reviewed here are the excerpts from the resources integrated in iBIRA.

Diagnostic value of sperm DnA fragmentation and sperm high-magnification for predicting outcome of assisted reproduction treatment

Over the last years, major improvements in the field of male infertility diagnosis have been achieved. The aim of this study was to determine the diagnostic usefulness of sperm DnA integrity and sperm vacuolisation for predicting outcome in infertile couples undergoing in vitroferti lisation （IVF） and intracytoplasmic sperm injection （ICSI） treatments. A cohort study from 152 infertile couples undergoing sperm DnA fragmentation and high-magnification tests prior to an assisted reproduction treatment was designed. We found that the most predictive cutoff for pregnancy was 25.5% of DnA fragmentation with a negative predictive value of 72.7% （P=0.02）. For the degree of vacuolisation, the best predictor of pregnancy was 73.5% of vacuolated sperm grades Ⅲ ＋ Ⅳ with a negative predictive value of 39.4% （P=0.09）, which was not statistically significant. In conclusion, sperm DnA fragmentation greater than 25.5% could be associated with higher probability of failure IVF treatment. Regarding the results of the sperm analysis at high magnification, they do not allow us to predict whether or not oatients will become pregnant.

We deal with Einstein＇s field equations with a time-decaying cosmological term of the forms （i） ∧=β（a/a）＋ α/a62 and （ii）∧ = α/a^2, where a is the average scale factor of the universe, α and β are constants for a spatially homogeneous and anisotropic LRS Bianchi type-Ⅱ spacetime. Exact solutions of the field equations for stiff matter are obtained by applying a special law of variation for the Hubble parameter. Anisotropic cosmological models are presented with a constant negative deceleration parameter which corresponds to the accelerated phase of the present universe. The cosmological constant A is obtained as a decreasing function of time that is approaching a small positive value at the present epoch, which is corroborated by the consequences from recent supernovae Ia observations. The physical and kinematical behaviors of the models are also discussed.

Melanodins are amino-carbonyl complex, predominantly present in sugarcane molasses based distillery wastewater as major source of colourant. The microbial decolourisafion of melanoidin is a challenge due to its binding property with other co-pollutants of distillery waste. Results revealed that the presence of Zn2＋（2.00-20.00 mg/L） in melanoidin solution （1200 mg/L） stimulated the bacterial growth and sucrose-aspartic acid Maillard product （SAA） decolourisation as compared to control, while Fe3＋ and Mn2＋ at the same concentration inhibited the process. However, the presence of phenol （100 mg/L） along with Zn2＋, Fe3＋ and Mn2＋ suppressed the bacterial growth, SAA decolourisation and MnP activity. The shrinkage and reduced number of bacterial cell count at higher concentration of heavy metals in presence of phenol was also observed under scanning electron microscope.

Studies on litterfall and decomposition provide estimations of decomposition rates of different *** is key information to understanding ecosystem dynamics and changes in a scenario of global *** objective of this research was to assess litterfall production,the potential deposition of macro and micronutrients through leaf and twig fall as well as macronutrient—use efficiency in three forest ecosystems at different altitudes： a pine forest mixed with deciduous species（S1）; a Quercus ***（S2）; and,a Tamaulipan thornscrub forest（S3）.Total annual litterfall deposition was 594,742 and 533 g m^（-2） for S1,S2 and *** litter was higher （68%） than twigs（18%）,reproductive structures（8%） or miscellaneous material（6%）.Micronutrient leaf deposition was higher for Fe followed by Mn,Zn and *** leaf deposition was higher for Ca followed by K,Mg and *** though P deposition in leaves and twigs was lower than other macronutrients,its nutrient use efficiency was higher than Ca,Mg or *** and species composition determine litter and nutrient deposition,with higher values at mid-altitudes（550 m）.Altitude is an important factor to consider when analyzing litter production as well as nutrient deposition as shown in this *** production and nutrient deposition are expected to change in a scenario of global warming.
