Phase separations have been studied for graded-indium content In_xGa_（1-x）N/GaN multiple quantum wells（MQWs） with different indium contents by means of photoluminescence（PL）,cathodeluminescence（CL） and time-resolved PL（TRPL） *** the main emission peaks,all samples show another 2 peaks at the high and low energy parts of the main peaks in PL when excited at 10 *** images show a clear contrast for 3 samples,which indicates an increasing phase separation with increasing indium *** spectra at 15 K of the main emissions show an increasing delay of rising time with indium content,which means a carrier transferring from low indium content structures to high indium content structures.

High-mobility group box 1 was first discovered in the calf thymus as a DNA-binding nuclear protein and has been widely studied in diverse fields,including neurology and ***-mobility group box 1 in the extracellular space functions as a pro-inflammatory damage-associated molecular pattern,which has been proven to play an important role in a wide variety of central nervous system disorders such as ischemic stroke,Alzheimer’s disease,frontotemporal dementia,Parkinson’s disease,multiple sclerosis,epilepsy,and traumatic brain *** drugs that inhibit high-mobility group box 1 as a damage-associated molecular pattern,such as glycyrrhizin,ethyl pyruvate,and neutralizing anti-high-mobility group box 1 antibodies,are commonly used to target high-mobility group box 1 activity in central nervous system *** it is commonly known for its detrimental inflammatory effect,high-mobility group box 1 has also been shown to have beneficial pro-regenerative roles in central nervous system *** this narrative review,we provide a brief summary of the history of high-mobility group box 1 research and its characterization as a damage-associated molecular pattern,its downstream receptors,and intracellular signaling pathways,how high-mobility group box 1 exerts the repair-favoring roles in general and in the central nervous system,and clues on how to differentiate the pro-regenerative from the pro-inflammatory *** targeting high-mobility group box 1 in the central nervous system may benefit from differentiating between the two functions rather than overall suppression of high-mobility group box 1.

BACKGROUND The high prevalence of human papillomavirus(HPV)infection in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma(SCC)is well established,and p16 expression is a strong ***-related tumors exhibit unique mechanisms that target p16 and p53 ***,research on HPV prevalence and the combined predictive value of p16 and p53 expression in head and neck cutaneous SCC(HNCSCC),particularly in Asian populations,remains *** retrospective study surveyed 62 patients with HNSCC(2011-2020),excluding those with facial warts or other skin *** To explore the prevalence of HPV and the predictive value of p16 and p53 expression in HNCSCC in Asian *** All patients underwent wide excision and *** staining for HPV,p16,and p53 yielded positive and negative *** relevance of each marker was investigated by categorizing the tumor locations into high-risk and middle-risk zones based on recurrence *** Of the 62 patients,20(32.26%)were male,with an average age of 82.27 years(range 26-103 years).High-risk included 19 cases(30.65%),with the eyelid and lip being the most common sites(five cases,8.06%).Middle-risk included 43 cases(69.35%),with the cheek being the most common(29 cases,46.77%).The p16 expression was detected in 24 patients(38.71%),p53 expression in 42 patients(72.58%),and HPV in five patients(8.06%).No significant association was found between p16 expression and the presence of HPV(P>0.99),with a positive predictive value of 8.33%.CONCLUSION This study revealed that p16,a surrogate HPV marker in oropharyngeal SCC,is not reliable in HNCSCC,providing valuable insights for further research in Asian populations.

Swarm robot systems are an important application of autonomous unmanned surface vehicles on water *** monitoring natural environments and conducting security activities within a certain range using a surface vehicle,the swarm robot system is more efficient than the operation of a single object as the former can reduce cost and save *** is necessary to detect adjacent surface obstacles robustly to operate a cluster of unmanned surface *** this purpose,a LiDAR(light detection and ranging)sensor is used as it can simultaneously obtain 3D information for all directions,relatively robustly and accurately,irrespective of the surrounding environmental *** the GPS(global-positioning-system)error range exists,obtaining measurements of the surface-vessel position can still ensure stability during platoon *** this study,a three-layer convolutional neural network is applied to classify types of surface *** aim of this approach is to redefine the sparse 3D point cloud data as 2D image data with a connotative meaning and subsequently utilize this transformed data for object classification ***,we have proposed a descriptor that converts the 3D point cloud data into 2D image *** use this descriptor effectively,it is necessary to perform a clustering operation that separates the point clouds for each *** developed voxel-based clustering for the point cloud ***,using the descriptor,3D point cloud data can be converted into a 2D feature image,and the converted 2D image is provided as an input value to the *** intend to verify the validity of the proposed 3D point cloud feature descriptor by using experimental data in the ***,we explore the feasibility of real-time object classification within this framework.

As location data are widely available to portable devices, trajectory tracking of moving objects has become an essential technology for most location-based services. To maintain such streaming data of location updates from mobile clients, conventional approaches such as time-based regular location updating and distance-based location updating have been used. However, these methods suffer from the large amount of data, redundant location updates, and large trajectory estimation errors due to the varying speed of moving objects. In this paper, we propose a simple but efficient online trajectory data reduction method for portable devices. To solve the problems of redundancy and large estimation errors, the proposed algorithm computes trajectory errors and finds a recent location update that should be sent to the server to satisfy the user requirements. We evaluate the proposed algorithm with real GPS trajectory data consisting of 17 201 trajectories. The intensive simulation results prove that the proposed algorithm always meets the given user requirements and exhibits a data reduction ratio of greater than 87% when the acceptable trajectory error is greater than or equal to 10 meters.

The effects of lntcr-ckxttxxk insertion on the performance of a hollow--electrode plasma torch have been investigated by numerical *** results revealed that when inter-dcctrodes arc inserted,the arc voltages and plasma powers increase due to the increase in the arc *** addition,it was predicted that thermal efficiency can be improved with the increase in plasma power by injecting plasma gases through the gaps between *** unique effects of inter-electrode insertion arc a result of the plasma temperatures adjusting themselves to increase arc voltages when the arc column is contracted radially by increasing gas-flow rate or decreasing inter-electrcxk diameter.

Subcortical ischemic white matter injury(SIWMI),pathological correlate of white matter hyperintensities or leukoaraiosis on magnetic resonance imaging,is a common cause of cognitive decline in *** its high prevalence,it remains unknown how various components of the white matter degenerate in response to chronic *** incomplete knowledge is in part due to a lack of adequate animal *** current review introduces various SIWMI animal models and aims to scrutinize their advantages and disadvantages primarily in regard to the pathological manifestations of white matter *** SIWMI animal models are categorized into 1)chemically induced SIWMI models,2)vascular occlusive SIWMI models,and 3)SIWMI models with comorbid vascular risk *** induced models display consistent lesions in predetermined areas of the white matter,but the abrupt evolution of lesions does not appropriately reflect the progressive pathological processes in human white matter *** occlusive SIWMI models often do not exhibit white matter lesions that are sufficiently unequivocal to be *** combined with comorbid vascular risk factors(specifically hypertension),however,they can produce progressive and definitive white matter lesions including diffuse rarefaction,demyelination,loss of oligodendrocytes,and glial activation,which are by far the closest to those found in human white matter hyperintensities ***,considerable surgical mortality and unpredictable natural deaths during a follow-up period would necessitate further refinements in these *** the meantime,in vitro SIWMI models that recapitulate myelinated white matter track may be utilized to study molecular mechanisms of the ischemic white matter *** in vivo and in vitro SIWMI models will contribute in a complementary manner to making a breakthrough in developing effective treatment to prevent progression of white matter hyperintensities.
