the uterus is transiently receptive for embryo implantation. It remains to be understood why the uterus does not reject a semi-allogeneic embryo (to the biological mother) or an allogeneic embryo (to a surrogate) for implantation. to gain insights, we examined uterine early response genes approaching embryo attachment on day 3 post coitum (D3) at 22 hours when blue dye reaction, an indication of embryo attachment, had not manifested in mice. C57BL/6 pseudo-pregnant (control) and pregnant mouse uteri were collected on D3 at 22 hours for microarray analysis. the self-assembling-manifold (SAM) algorithm identified 21,858 unique probesets. Principal component analysis indicated a clear separation between the pseudo-pregnant and pregnant groups. there were 106 upregulated and five downregulated protein-coding genes in the pregnant uterus with fold change (fc) >1.5 andq value tology (GO) analysis of the 106 upregulated genes revealed 38 significant GO biological process (GOBP) terms (P them were associated with immune responses, with a dominant natural killer (Nk) cell activation signature. Among the top eight upregulated protein-coding genes,Cyp26a1 inactivates retinoic acid (ra) whileLrat promotes vitamin A storage, both of which are expected to attenuate ra bioavailability;Atp6v0d2 andGjb2 play roles in ion transport and transmembrane transport;Gzmb,Gzmc, andIl2rb are involved in immune responses; andtdo2 is important for kynurenine pathway. Most of these genes or their related pathways have functions in immune regulations. ra signaling has been implicated in immune tolerance and immune homeostasis, and uterine Nk cells have been implicated in immunotolerance at the maternal-fetal interface in the placenta. the mechanisms of immune responses approaching embryo attachment remain to be elucidated. the coordinated effects of the early response genes may hold the keys to the question of why the uterus does not reject an implanting embryo

Objective:to delineate immunomodulatory role of histamine on antibody generation pr of ile in rabbit in the present dose-dependent histamine ***:the cohort comprised of three groups(Ⅲ,ⅣandⅤ),containing six rabbits each,and received subcutaneous histamine 50μg/kg×bis in die(b.i.d.),100μg/kg×*** 200μg/kg X b.i.d.,respectively for 10 days (starting from the 1st day).they were subsequently immunized on the 3rd day with intravenous injection of sheep blood cell(SRBC)(1×10 cells/mL).GroupⅡ(positive control)(n=6) received vehicle(sterile distilled water) and immunized at day 3 similarly while groupⅠ(negative control) (n=6) remained non-immunized and received only *** experimentations were performed in *** samples were collected on pre-immunization(pre-I)(day 0),as well as on days 7-,14-,21-,28- and 58- post-immunization(post-I).Immunological parameters[total immunoglobulins(Igs),IgM and IgG]were analyzed by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) ***:Histamine could influence a detectable antibody response to SRBC as early as day 7-post-I,which lasted until day 58- *** results were found statistically significant(P< 0.05).Conclusions:Our results provide evidence that histamine has a short-term effect on antibody generation(until its presence in the body),and the antibody generation titer in vivo were affected by the concentration of histamine.

Many quantum emitters have been measured close or near the grain boundaries of the two-dimensional hexagonal boron nitride where various Stone–Wales defects *** show by means of first principles density functional theory calculations that the pentagon–heptagon Stone–Wales defect is an ultraviolet emitter and its optical properties closely follow the characteristics of a 4.08-eV quantum emitter,often observed in polycrystalline hexagonal boron *** also show that the square–octagon Stone–Wales line defects are optically active in the ultraviolet region with varying gaps depending on their density in hexagonal boron *** results may introduce a paradigm shift in the identification of fluorescent centres in this material.

Severity of gastroesophageal reflux disease influences daytime somnolence: A clinical study of 134 patients underwent upper panendoscopy

AIM: to asses the relationship between severity of gastroesophageal refluxe disease and Epworth sleepiness scale as an indicator of daytime somnolence. MEtHODS: One hundred and thirty-four patients underwent an upper panendoscopy as indicated by the typical reflux symptoms and were also investigated with regard to somnolence. Sleepiness was evaluated by Epworth Sleepiness Scale, which was compared to the severity of endoscopic findings (Savary-Miller/modified by Siewert). Patients with psychiatric disorders or being on sedato-hypnotics as well as shift workers were excluded from the study. the relationship between the severity of the reflux disease and daytime somnolence was analyzed with the help of multivariate regression analysis. RESULtS: A positive tendency was found between the severity of the reflux disease and the corresponding Epworth Sleepiness Scale. In the case of the more severe type-Savary-Miller Ⅲ- at least a mild hypersomnia was found. For this group daytime somnolence was significantly higher than in the case of the non-erosive type of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease representing the mildest stage of reflux disease. CONCLUSION: the severity of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease influences daytime somnolence.

the ground-state mass excess of the t_(z)=−2 drip-line nucleus ^(22)Al is measured for the first time as 18103(10)keV using the newly-developed Bρ-defined isochronous mass spectrometry method at the cooler storage ring in *** new mass excess value allowed us to determine the excitation energies of the two low-lying 1+states in ^(22)Al with significantly reduced uncertainties of 51 *** compared to the analogue states in its mirror nucleus ^(22)F,the mirror energy differences of the two 1^(+)states in the ^(22)Al-^(22)F mirror pair are determined to be−625(51)keV and−330(51)*** excitation energies and mirror energy differences are used to test the state-of-the-art ab initio valence-space in-medium similarity renormalization group calculations with four sets of interactions derived from the chiral effective field *** mechanism leading to the large mirror energy differences is investigated and attributed to the occupation of theπs_(1/2) orbital.

Point defect quantum bits in semiconductors have the potential to revolutionize sensing at atomic ***,vacancy-related defects are at the forefront of high spatial resolution and low-dimensional *** the other hand,it is expected that impurity-related defect structures may give rise to new features that could further advance quantum sensing in low ***,we study the symmetric carbon tetramer clusters in hexagonal boron nitride and propose them as spin qubits for *** utilize periodic-DFt and quantum chemistry approaches to reliably and accurately predict the electronic,optical,and spin properties of the studied *** show that the nitrogen-centered symmetric carbon tetramer gives rise to spin state-dependent optical signals with strain-sensitive intersystem crossing ***,the weak hyperfine coupling of the defect to their spin environments results in a reduced electron spin resonance linewidth that can enhance sensitivity.

Divacancy spins implement qubits with outstanding characteristics and capabilities in an industrial semiconductor host On the other hand,there are still numerous open questions about the physics of these important defects,for instance,spin relaxation has not been thoroughly studied ***,we carry out a theoretical study on environmental spin-induced spin relaxation processes of divacancy qubits in the 4H polytype of silicon carbide(4H-SiC).We reveal all the relevant magnetic field values where the longitudinal spin relaxation time t,drops resonantly due to the coupling to either nuclear spins or electron *** quantitatively analyze the dependence of the t,time on the concentration of point defect spins and the applied magnetic field and provide ananalytical *** demonstrate that dipolar spin relaxation plays a significant role both in as-grown and ion-implanted samples and it often limits the coherence time of divacancy qubits in 4H-SiC.
