In this paper,single-phase homogeneous nanofluid model is proposed to investigate the natura. convection of magneto-hydrodynamic(MIID)flow of Newtonian Cu—H20 nanoliquid in a baffled U-shaped *** brinkman model and Wasp model are considered to measure the effective dynamic viscosity and effective thermal conductivity of the nanoliquid ***'s effective properties such as specific heat,density and thermal expansion coefficient are modeled using mixture *** complicated PDS(partial differential system)is treated for numeric solutions via the Galerkin finite element *** pertinent para.eters Hartmann number(1≤Ha≤60),ra.leigh number(10^(3)≤ra.10^(6))and nanoparticles volume fra.tion (0% ≤Ф≤4%) are taken for the para.etric analysis, and it is conducted via streamlines and isotherms. Excellent agreement between numerical results and open litera.ure. It is ascertained that heat tra.sfer ra.e enhances with ra.leigh number ra.and volume fra.tion 0, however it is diminished for laiger Hartmann number Ha.

The function and conservation of many forest ecosystems depend on the distribution and diversity of the community of rodents that consume and disperse *** habitat preferences and intera.tions are especially relevant in alpine systems where such gra.ivorous rodents reach the southernmost limit of their distribution and are especially sensitive to global *** analyzed the community of gra.ivorous rodents in the Pyrenees,one of the southernmost mountain ra.ges of *** species were identified by DNA with particular attention to the Apodemus species,which are prominent seed-dispersing rodents in *** confirmed for the first time the presence of the yellow-necked mouse,Apodemus flavicollis,in centra. Effect of pectic oligosaccharide on probiotic survival and physicochemical properties of hydrogel beads for synbiotic encapsulation of Lactobacillus bulgaricus

The present study was carried out to evaluate the effects of different concentra.ions of pectic oligosaccharide(POS)on the physicochemical properties of Lactobacillus bulgaricus(***)loaded-synbiotic hydrogel beads and the survival of *** methoxyl(LM)pectin-resistant starch(RS)hydrogel beads,named RS beads,were coated/filled with different concentra.ions of POS:0.8%(RS-POS0.8 beads),1.0%(RS-POS1.0 beads),and 1.2%(RS-POS1.2 beads).POS treatment resulted in smooth beads with less surface dent by hydrogen bonding between RS beads and POS,which was confirmed by SEM and XRD *** encapsulation efficiency of RS beads and RS-POS beads ra.ged from 90.40%to 92.03%.In simulated gastric fluid(SGF)and bile salt solution,free *** completely died but *** encapsulated in RS-POS1.2 beads only slightly *** indicates that RS-POS1.2 beads exhibited higher protective effects on *** under SGF condition and bile ***,considering the relatively higher stora.e stability of *** loaded in RS-POS1.2 beads,the present results suggest that RS beads coated/filled with POS could be used for synbiotic encapsulation,protection,and delivery of probiotics.

Assessment of ra.ioactivity levels in some oil samples from the western desert,Egypt

Distributions of natura. gamma-emitting ra.ionuclides were determined in 93 oil samples collected from some petroleum fields in the western desert of Egypt. The ra.ioisotope activities in the area under investigation lay in the ra.ge of (21 ± 4) to (38 ± 13) bq?L-1 for 226ra. (9 ± 2) to (15 ± 5) bq?L-1 for 232Th, and (154 ± 28) to (303 ± 54) bq?L-1 for 40K. The mean values were 27, 12, and 201 bq?L-1, respectively. Among oils, variations in ra.ionuclide ac- tivities could be on account of differences in TDS, HCO3, and ba, with high or low pH. In this environment, oil prop- erties differently affected the mobilization of natura. ra.ionuclides. The ra.ge of 226ra.variation had been compared with available data from other countries. The calculated absorbed dose ra.e ra.ged from 22.33 to 32.66 nGy?h-1 in lo- cation (b) and (E) respectively, which was less than the accepted value.

Antioxidant potential,tannin and polyphenol contents of seed and pericarp of three Coffea species

Objective:To investigate the antioxidant activity,total phenolic and total tannin content of the pericarp and the seed of Coffea benghalensis(***) and Coffea liberica compared to Coffea ara.ica(***).Methods:The antioxidant potential,total tannin and polyphenol contents of the immature and mature seed and pericarp of *** and Coffea liberica were quantified and compared to *** chemiluminescence(ECL).2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydruzyl(DPPH).oxygen ra.ical absorbance capacity,Folin-Ciocaltcau method and total tannin content assays were ***:Trolox equivalent(TE/g plant material) values obtained by ECL and DPPH methods showed loose correlation(r^2=0.587)while those measured by oxygen ra.ical absorbance capacity assay were higher without correlation in each plant.A closer correlation was detected between the ECL method and the percentage antioxidant activity of the DPPH technique(r^2=0.610 7) in each species,however the immature pericarp of *** showed much higher DPPH scavenging potential than was seen in the ECL *** immature pericarp of *** expressed the highest tannin and polyphenol content,and a high polyphenol level was also detected in the immature seed of *** immature pericarp of bengal and Liberian coffees showed the largest amount of phenolic ***:The obtained data highlight the potential role of *** as a new source of natura. antioxidants and polyphenols compared to ***.

Role of seed size, phenology, oogenesis and host distribution in the specificity and genetic structure of seed weevils (Curculio spp.) in mixed forests

Synchrony between seed growth and oogenesis is suggested to largely shape trophic breadth of seed-feeding insects and ultimately to contribute to their co-existence by means of resource partitioning or in the time when infestation *** we investigated:(i)the role of seed phenology and sexual matura.ion of females in the host specificity of seed-feeding weevils(Curculio spp.)predating in hazel and oak mixed forests;and(ii)the consequences that trophic breadth and host distribution have in the genetic structure of the weevil *** analyses were used to establish unequivocally host specificity and to determine the population genetic *** identified 4 species with different specificity,namely Curculio nucum females matured earlier and infested a unique host(hazelnuts,Corylus avellana)while 3 species(Curculio venosus,Curculio glandium and Curculio elephas)predated upon the acorns of the 2 oaks(Quercus ilex and Quercus pubescens).The high specificity of *** coupled with a more discontinuous distribution of hazel trees resulted in a significant genetic structure among *** addition,the presence of an excess of local ra.e haplotypes indicated that *** populations went through genetic expansion after recent ***,these effects were not observed in the more genera.ist Curculio glandium predating upon ***,co-existence of weevil species in this multi-host-para.ite system is influenced by both resource and time *** what extent the restriction in gene flow among *** populations may have negative consequences for their persistence in a time of increasing disturbances(*** in Mediterra.ean areas)deserves further research.

Objective:To examine the antiplatelet and antithrombotic activity of Rumex acetosella ***:Standard light aggregometry was used for platelet aggregation,intra.ellular calcium mobilization assessed using Fura.2/AM,gra.ule secretion(ATP release)by luminometer,and fibrinogen binding to integrin α_(Ⅱb)β_(3) detected using flow *** blotting is carried out to determine the phosphorylation of mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)and phosphoinositide 3-kinase(PI3K)/Akt ***:Rumex acetosella displayed the ability to inhibit platelet aggregation,calcium mobilization,gra.ule secretion,and fibrinogen binding to integrin α_(Ⅱb)β_(3).Rumex acetosella has also down-regulated MAPK and PI3K/Akt phosphorylation(all Pella extra.t exhibits antiplatelet activity via modulating GPVI signaling,and it may protect against the development of platelet-related cardiovascular diseases.

Aims Forest fra.mentation and reduced tree population densities can poten-tially have negative impacts on mating patterns,offspring genetic diversity and reproductive *** aim of the present study is to test these hypotheses comparing an extremely fra.mented,low tree density(~0.02 trees/ha)holm oak(Quercus ilex l.)stand from Centra. spain with a nearby high tree density stand(~50 trees/ha).Methods We genotyped adult trees and seeds from the low-density stand(436 seeds from 15 families)and the high-density stand(404 seeds from 11 families)using nine microsatellite *** these data,we performed paternity analyses,determined pollen flow,mating patterns and pollen pool structure,and estimated progeny genetic diversity in both *** also studied seed set and production and performed a pollen supplementation experiment to determine whether reduced tree density has limited foreign pollen *** Findings We have found extensive pollen immigra.ion(>75%)into the low tree density stand and monte Carlo simulations revealed that pollen moves larger distances than expected from null models of ra.dom *** patterns and differentiation of pollen pools were similar in the high-density stand and the low-density stand but we found higher inter-annual differentiation of pollen pools in the *** genetic diversity and self-fertilization ra.es did not dif-fer between the low-density stand and the high-density *** set ra.es were significantly lower in the low-density stand than in the high-density stand and experimental cross-pollen supplementation evidenced that foreign pollen availability is indeed a limiting factor in the ***,seed crops did not differ between the low-density stand and the high-density stand,indicating that limitation of foreign pollen is not likely to be of great concern in terms of reduced seed production and potential *** forest regenera.ion due to other ecological and human fac
