In this editorial,we reviewed the article by Fadlallah et al that was recently published in the World Journal of Clinical *** article provided a comprehensive and in-depth view of the management and treatment of colorectal cancer(CRC),one of the leading causes of cancer-related morbidity and mortality *** article analyzed the therapeutic modalities and their sequencing,focusing on total neoadjuvant therapy for locally advanced rectal *** hig.lighted the role of immunotherapy in tumors with high microsatellite instability or deficient mismatch repair,addressing recent advances that have improved prognosis and therapeutic response in localized and metastatic *** in surgical techniques,advanced radiotherapy,and systemic agents targeting specific mutational profiles are also discussed,reflecting on how they revolutionized clinical *** tumor DNA has emerged as a promising tool for detecting minimal residual disease,prognosis,and therapeutic monitoring,solidifying its role in precision *** review emphasized the importance of technological and therapeutic advancements in improving clinical outcomes and personalizing CRC treatment.

This work reports the growth and characterization of p-AlInN layers doped with Mg by plasma-assisted molecular beam epitaxy(PAMBE).AlInN was grown with an Al molar fraction of 0.80 by metal-modulated epitaxy(MME)with a thickness of 180 nm on Si(111)substrates using AlN as buffer *** substrate temperatures were used to enhance the incorporation of indium atoms into the alloy without clustering,as confirmed by X-ray diffraction(XRD).Cathodoluminescence measurements revealed ultraviolet(UV)range ***,Hall effect measurements indicated a maximum hole mobility of 146 cm^(2)/(V∙s),corresponding to a free hole concentration of 1.23×10^(19)cm^(−3).The samples were analyzed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)estimating the alloy composition and extracting the Fermi level by valence band ***-doped AlInN layers were studied for use as the electron-blocking.layer(EBl)in lED *** varied the Al composition in the EBl from 0.84 to 0.96 molar fraction to assess its theoretical effects on electroluminescence,carrier concentration,and electric field,using SIlVACO *** results from this study hig.light the importance and capability of producing high-quality Mg-doped p-AlInN layers through *** simulations suggest that an Al content of 0.86 is optimal for achieving desired outcomes in electroluminescence,carrier concentration,and electric field.

Underwater imaging is being used increasingly by marine biologists as a means to assess the abundance of marine resources and their biodiversity. Previously, we developed the first automatic approach for estimating the abundance of Norway lobsters and counting their burrows in video sequences captured using a monochrome camera mounted on trawling gear. In this paper, an alternative framework is proposed and tested using deep-water video sequences acquired via a remotely operated vehicle. The proposed framework consists of four modules:(1) preprocessing,(2) object detection and classification,(3) object-tracking, and(4) quantification. Encouraging results were obtained from available test videos for the automatic video-based abundance estimation in comparison with manual counts by human experts(ground truth). For the available test set, the proposed system achieved 100%precision and recall for lobster counting, and around 83% precision and recall for burrow detection.

Uxi (Endopleura uchi) is a plant from the Brazilian Amazon. It has many biological activities that are attributed to its main active component, bergenin (Bg), which has low water solubility. The aim of this work was to obtain β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) inclusion complexes of uxi using.lyophilized cooked rice as the solid substrate. The process was studied using a Box–Behnken design with the solution feed rate, molar ratio of β-CD to Bg, and rice bed load as factors. These factors greatly affected the product bulk density, angle of repose, water content, and Bg content, loss, and water solubility. The optimum process conditions determined using a desirability functions methodology were an extract feed rate of 1 ml/min, a ratio of β-CD to Bg of 3:1, and a substrate load of 100 g. The predicted values under the optimum conditions were close to the experimental results of a water content of 5.8%± 0.2%, Bg content of 985.7 ± 15.4 μg/g, Bg water solubility of 2230.2 ± 21.1 μg/ml, and Bg.loss of 1.2%± 0.1%. These results confirm that spouted beds are an important tool for rapid, one-step preparation of pharmaceutical β-CD inclusion complexes in a solid form.

This study aimed to characterize the physical-chemical and biological properties of pectin(PC)/chia seed mucilage(CM)***/CM[100/0(control),80/20%,60/40%,and 40/60%w/w]membranes were prepared using the casting *** membranes(PC/CM)were thin,yellow,lightly opaque(≈10%)and capable of blocking.light UVB(between 66 at 52%).SEM analysis showed the presence of aggregates in the shape of a sphere(≈13μm)and ovoid(≈25μm).The proportion of 80/20 showed an increase in tensile strength(29%)and elastic modulus(19%)when compared to the *** analysis exhibited intermolecular interactions between PCPC,PC-CM,and CM-CM in the *** thermal analysis(600°C)showed a slight improvement in the percentage of residual mass-loss of 3.31%(80/20)that *** 40/60 membrane showed the lowest percentage of hemolysis(2.94%)but limited human albumin adsorption *** results suggested that the blend PC/CM may be considered as a biomaterial for medical applications.
