Oil production and mainte nance are essential issues in naturally fractured reservoirs because they are the largest and most productive on ***,they present early water and gas channeling but could be remediated by using foaming agents to control these phenomena through blocking channeling *** Mexico these reservoirs have pressure up to 5,500 psi,high temperature up to 200℃,salinity up to400,000 ppm,and hardness up to 250,000 ppm;due to these thermodynamic conditions,there has been no available technology to form stable enough *** this work,a foaming supramolecular surfactant with the capability to chelate Ca^(2+)ions is *** a result,surfactant monomers are bridged by captured Ca^(2+)cations leading to the formation of high-molecular-weight oligomers,which significantly increment the viscosity of the solution improving the foam stability,and since at this manner the Ca2+cations are no longer available to precipitate as components of solid salts,the foaming supramolecular surfactant also performs as *** observations are explained through quantum theoretical *** foam is stable,effectively blocking the gas channels,whereas in presence of oil the foam is broken leading the oil to pass into the *** characteristic rheological properties of the foam allow its injection into the formation at a range of flow rates,foam qualities,and shear stress to achieve the flooding and the blocking of a variety of fractured carbonate formations,and the change of the wettability of the matrix,which is a desirable behavior in a huff and puff process,as reported in a previous publication about a successful pilot test of this foam.

This study aimed to in vitro evaluate the impact of common gastrointestinal(GI)alterations appearing with aging on protein digestibility,and functional related properties,in four different meats(chicken,turkey,pork and beef).Thus,three elderly digestion models were stated as long as altered GI conditions affected at oral(E1),oral and gastric(E2)and oral,gastric and intestinal stages(E3).Healthy adult GI conditions were also mimicked as standard control model(C).A notable trichloroacetic acid(TCA)soluble protein and the free amino acids(FAA)release reduction(pl suboptimal conditions(E3),being more accused in beef than in other ***,chicken intake would be more advisable,than other meats,in terms of protein digestibility;while beef would provide a greater net supply of FAA under E3 model *** altered conditions,seem to favor protein ***,while gastric and intestinal suboptimal conditions diminish the angiotensin converting enzyme(ACE)inhibition of meat digesta,their antioxidant activity was only negatively affected by intestinal altered conditions.

Content and bioaccessibility of bioactive compounds with potential benefits for macular health in tiger nut products

Clinical studies have associated the consumption of tiger nuts(Cyperus esculentus l.),and its derivates,with improved macular health,due to the presence of certain liposoluble compounds with antioxidant activity,especially to lutein and ***,the benefits derived from ingestion of tiger nut products may vary depending on the release of these compounds from the food matrix to the digestive fluids and their eventual ***,this study aims at evaluating the influence of the food matrix on the liberation and final bioaccessibility of bioactive compounds with positive impact on macular health in different tiger nut products(flour,oil,and milk with and without added sucrose).The in vitro digestibility of macronutrients and the release of vitamin E,lutein,zeaxanthin,β-carotene,and total polyphenols of tiger nut products was *** addition,the antioxidant activity of the bioaccessible fraction was determined by ABTS,DPPH and FraP *** showed that tiger nut milk resulted in the greatest proteolysis and total polyphenols ***,flour can contribute to hypoglycaemia and,alongside oil,were the best sources of carotenoids and vitamin *** digestion increased the antioxidant activity of milk,but the addition of sucrose decreased this *** food matrix was a highly relevant factor protecting or hindering the digestion and release of bioactive compounds in the digestive ***,tiger nut products are presented as ingredients with great potential to develop functional foods oriented to macular health.

Minimization of methabenzthiazuron residues in leaching water using amended soils and photocatalytic treatment with TiO_2 and ZnO

In the present work, potential groundwater pollution by methabenzthiazuron （MTBU） and the effect of three different amendments （composted sheep manure, composted pine bark and spent coffee grounds） on its mobility were investigated under laboratory conditions. The efficiency of ZnO and TiO2 suspensions in the photocatalytic degradation of MTBU in leaching water was also investigated. The relative and cumulative breakthrough curves were obtained from disturbed soil columns. The presence and/or addition of organic matter drastically reduced the movement of the herbicide. On other hand, photocatalytic experiments showed that the addition of ZnO and TiO2 strongly enhances the degradation rate of this herbicide compared with the results of photolytic experiments under artificial light. ZnO appeared to be more effective in MTBU oxidation than TiO2. The results obtained point to the interest of using organic wastes and heterogeneous photocatalysis for reducing the pollution of groundwater by pesticide drainage.

Overweight and obesity in children are an increasing public health problem,and the influence the gut microbiota has on it,is still *** consumption of prebiotics has been studied in children with overweight and obesity after an intervention with fermented milk,supplemented with different fructans like prebiotics,was carried out to obtain a healthy *** were randomly assigned into three groups,a double-blind intervention was carried out,receiving different fermented milk products for 6 weeks,including the following supplements:lactobacillus casei strain Shirota,*** strain Shirota with inulin or *** strain Shirota with fructans from Agave salmiana Otto ex *** was extracted from stool samples and the differential abundance of ASV was monitored by high throughput 16S rRNA gene sequencing.A synbiotic with fructans from *** stimulated the abundance and diversity of the microbiota,specifically on genera Faecalibacterium and Holdemanella,thus,leading to a healthier gut microbiota,which led to obtaining the best anthropometric changes in synbiotic *** intervention may provide health benefits to children with overweight or obesity by increasing the richness of the gut microbiota and stimulate beneficial ***,more studies are needed to get a better understanding of the mechanisms of action.

Transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) have been shown to be an efficient portal systemic derivative treatment for Budd Chiari syndrome (BCS) patients uncontrolled by medical therapy. However, the main drawback of TIPS for this condition is a very high rate of shunt dysfunction. Recently, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) covered stents have been shown to reduce the incidence of TIPS dysfunction in patients with cirrhosis. The aim of the study was to assess the incidence of TIPS dysfunction in 2 cohorts of BCS patients treated with bare or PTFE covered stents. The study included 25 TIPS procedures (16 bare stents and 9 covered stents) with a median follow up period of 20.4 months (range, 3.9-124.8). Fourteen of 16 patients (87%) receiving bare stents had TIPS dysfunction compared to 3 of the 9 patients (33%) receiving PTFE covered stents (P = .005). The actuarial rates of primary patency in the bare stent group were 19%at 1 year compared with 67%in the PTFE covered stent group (P= .02; log rank test). The number of additional interventional procedures to maintain TIPS patency was significantly greater in the bare stent than in the PTFE covered stent group (1.9 ±1.2 vs. 0.6 ±0.9; P=.007). The number of patients with clinical relapses was greater in the bare stent group compared to the PTFE covered stent group (13 vs. 5 episodes in 9 and 3 patients, respectively). In conclusion, PTFE covered stents have a considerable advantage over bare stents for the TIPS treatment of BCS patients, with a lower dysfunction rate, a lower number of reinterventions, and fewer prosthesis requirements. PTFE covered stents are preferable in patients with Budd Chiari Syndrome.
