Role of diet and gut microbiota on colorectal cancer immunomodulation

Colorectal cancer(CRC) is.one of the mos. commonly diagnos.d cancers. and it is.characterized by genetic and epigenetic alterations. as.well as.by inflammatory cell infiltration among malignant and s.romal cells. However, this.dynamic infiltration can be influenced by the microenvironment to promote tumor proliferation, s.rvival and metas.as.s.or cancer inhibition. In particular, the cancer microenvironment metabolites.can regulate the inflammatory cells.to induce a chronic inflammatory res.ons. that can be a predis.os.ng condition for CRC retention. In addition, s.me nutritional components.might contribute to a chronic inflammatory condition by regulating various.immune and inflammatory pathways. Bes.des.that, diet s.rongly modulates.the gut microbiota compos.tion,which has.a key role in maintaining gut homeos.as.s.and is.as.ociated with the modulation of hos. inflammatory and immune res.ons.s. Therefore, diet has.a fundamental role in CRC initiation, progres.ion and prevention. In particular,functional foods.s.ch as.probiotics. prebiotics.and s.mbiotics.can have a potentially pos.tive effect on health beyond bas.c nutrition and have antiinflammatory effects. In this.review, we dis.us. the influence of diet on gut microbiota compos.tion, focus.ng on its.role on gut inflammation and ***, we des.ribe the potential benefits.of us.ng probiotics.and prebiotics.to modulate the hos. inflammatory res.ons., as.well as.its.application in CRC prevention and treatment.

The aim of this.s.udy was.to analyze the performance of Acaena elongata colonized by arbus.ular mycorrhizal fungi(AMF)to different phos.horus.P)concentrations.as.a meas.re of AMF ***,is.a s.ecies.from s.ils.where P availability is.limited,s.ch as.temperate *** res.arch ques.ions.were:1)How do different P concentrations.affect the AMF as.ociation in Acaena elongata,and 2)How does.the AMF as.ociation influence ***’s.growth under different P concentrations.***’s.growth,P content in plant tis.ue,AMF colonization and dependency were meas.red under four P concentrations.control(0 g P kg^(-1)),low(0.05 g P kg^(-1)),intermediate(0.2 g P kg^(-1))and high(2 g P kg^(-1))in different harves.s.A complete randomized block des.gn was.***’s.growth was.higher under-AMF in intermediate and high P concentrations.and the lowes. growth corres.onded to+AMF in the low and intermediate P *** obs.rved a negative effect on the root biomas. under+AMF in intermediate P concentration,while the P concentration had a pos.tive effect on the leaf area *** AMF colonization in *** decreas.d in the highes. P concentration and it was.favored under intermediate P concentration;while the low and the high concentrations.generated a cos.-benefit *** res.lts.s.gges. that the performance of s.me plant s.ecies.in s.ils.with low P availability may not be favored by their as.ociation with AMF,but a s.nergy between AMF and intermediate P concentrations.might drive ***’s.growth.

Eccentric training as.a new approach for rotator cuff tendinopathy: Review and pers.ectives

Exces.ive mechanical loading is.cons.dered the major caus. of rotator cuff tendinopathy. Although tendon problems.are very common, they are not always.eas. to treat. Eccentric training has.been propos.d as.an effective cons.rvative treatment for the Achilles.and patellar tendinopathies. but les. evidence exis.s.about its.effectivenes. for the rotator cuff tendinopathy. The mechanotrans.uction proces. as.ociated with an adequate dos. of mechanical load might explain the beneficial res.lts.of applying the eccentric training to the tendons. An adequate load increas.s.healing and an inadequate(over or underus.) load can deteriorate the tendon s.ructure. Different eccentric training protocols.have been us.d in the few s.udies.conducted for people with rotator cuff tendinopathy. Further, the effects.of the eccentric training for rotator cuff tendinopathy were only evaluated on pain, function and s.rength. Future s.udies.s.ould as.es. the effects.of the eccentric training als. on s.oulder kinematics.and mus.le activity. Individualization of the exercis. pres.ription, comprehens.on and motivation of the patients. and the es.ablis.ment of s.ecific goals. practice and efforts.s.ould allbe cons.dered when pres.ribing the eccentric training. In conclus.on, eccentric training s.ould be us.d aiming improvement of the tendon degeneration, but more evidence is.neces.ary to es.ablis. the adequate dos.res.ons. and to determine long-term follow-up effects.

While Ramularia leaf blight of cotton caus.d by Ramularia areola is.of top mos. importance for Brazil, information is.lacking regarding the s.rvival mechanis. of this.pathogen during the cotton-free period. The teleomorph of R. areola is.expected to belong to the genus.Mycos.haerella. In the pres.nt s.udy attempts.were made to verify occurrence of this.teleomorph in the s.ate of Mato Gros.o, Brazil. Decaying cotton leaves.were collected two months.after harves. of 2014 from 44 commercial and experimental fields.where aerial fungicidal applications.were made or not during the crop cycle to control the Ramularia leaf blight. Examination of the decaying cotton leaves.revealed pres.nce of abundant s.lerotia, s.ermagonia and as.oma of Mycos.haerella s.. intermingled with each other during the cotton-free period in mos. of the leaf s.mples. Mono-as.os.ore is.lations.were obtained from the as.oma and cons.dering their cultural, morphological, pathological and DNA s.quence analys.s.they were identified as.Mycos.haerella areola. M. areola and R. areola is.lates.produced s.milar s.mptoms.under glas.hous. inoculations. Reis.lation of the pathogen from the s.mptoms.produced by M. areola is.lates.yielded R. areola. s.me cotton leaves.s.owing s.ch s.mptoms.were kept on the s.il s.rface on plas.ic trays.for two months.under natural field condition. After this.period the decaying leaves.s.owed abundant perithecia identical to their original M. areola. ITs.rDNA s.quence analys.s.revealed identical s.quences.from M. areola and R. areola is.lates. Occurrence and the viability of the perfect s.age M. areola during the cotton-free period on the left-over s.ubble from one s.as.n to another were interpreted as.the s.rvival mechanis. of the pathogen and were cons.dered res.ons.ble for the Ramularia blight epidemics.in the s.ate of Mato Gros.o. Dis.as. management practices.for the s.ate of Mato Gros.o are dis.us.ed. This.is.the firs. report about the occurrence of the M. areola in Brazil.
