Synthesis of boron nitride nanorod and its performance as a metalfree catalyst for oxidative desulfurization of diesel fuel

In order to reduce the sulfur compounds in diesel fuel,boron nitride(BN)has been used as a novel metal-free catalyst in the present *** nanocatalyst was synthesized via template-free approach followed by heating treatment at 900℃ in nitrogen atmosphere that the characteristics of the sample were identified by the X-ray diffraction,Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy,raman spectroscopy,field emission scanning electron microscopy,transmission electron microscopy,atomic force microscopy,and N2 adsorption-desorption *** results of structural and morphological analysis represented that BN has been successfully *** efficacy of the main operating parameters on the process was studied by using response surface methodology based on the Box-Behnken design *** prepared catalyst showed high efficiency in oxidative desulfurization of diesel fuel with initial sulfur content of 8040 mg·kg^(-1)*** statistical analysis,a significant quadratic model was obtained to predict the sulfur removal as a function of efficient *** maximum efficiency of 72.4%was achieved under optimized conditions at oxidant/sulfur molar ratio of 10.2,temperature of 71℃,reaction time of 113 min,and catalyst dosage of 0.36 ***,the reusability of the BN was studied,and the result showed little reduction in activity of the catalyst after 10 times ***,a plausible mechanism was proposed for oxidation of sulfur compounds on the surface of the *** present study shows that BN materials can be selected as promising metal-free catalysts for desulfurization process.

In this paper,the experimental investigation on the performance improvement of conventional stepped solar still is *** steps are covered by the porous material to improve the performance of the conventional device and increase the evaporation *** the parameters,including the temperature on the glass surface,the water temperature inside the evaporation zone,and the amount of water produced in both conventional and modified stepped solar stills are measured and *** efficiency of two devices and their exergy efficiency have been ***,the economic analysis of both devices has been done to check the economic feasibility of the modified *** amount of freshwater generated during one day was 2244.4 and 3076.2 mL/m^(2),respectively for the conventional and modified stepped solar *** a result,the amount of water produced in one day by modified stepped solar still is 35.5% more than the conventional ***,the costs for the conventional and modified stepped solar stills have been calculated as 0.0359 and 0.029$/(L·m^(-2)),respectively.

Exploitation of sustainable energy sources requires the use of unique conversion and storage systems,such as solar panels,batteries,fuel cells,and electronic *** load management of these energy conversion and storage systems is one of their challenges and *** this article,the thermal management of these systems using thermoelectric modules is *** results show that by choosing the right option to remove heat from the hot side of the thermoelectric modules,it will be a suitable local cooling,and the thermoelectric modules increase the power and lifespan of the system by reducing the spot *** modules were effective in reducing panel *** increase the time to reach a temperature above 50℃ in batteries by 3 to 4 ***,in their integration with fuel cells,they increase the power density of the fuel cell.

AIM:To investigate the impact of niosome nanoparticles carrying umbelliprenin(UMB),an anti-angiogenic and anti-inflammatory plant compound,on the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF-A)and connective tissue growth factor(CTGF)genes in a human retinal pigment epithelium(rPE)-like retina-derived cell ***:UMB-containing niosomes were created,optimized,and ***-like cells were treated with free UMB and UMB-containing *** IC_(50)values of the treatments were determined using an MTT *** expression of VEGF-A and CTGF was evaluated using real-time polymerase chain reaction after rNA extraction and cDNA ***’characteristics,including drug entrapment efficiency,size,dispersion index,and zeta potential were *** UMB had an IC_(50)of 96.2μg/mL,while UMB-containing niosomes had an IC_(50)of 25μg/***:Treatment with UMB-containing niosomes and free UMB resulted in a significant reduction in VEGF-A expression compared to control cells(P=0.001).Additionally,UMB-containing niosomes demonstrated a significant reduction in CTGF expression compared to control cells(P=0.05).However,there was no significant reduction in the expression of both genes in cells treated with free ***:Both free UMB and niosome-encapsulated UMB inhibits VEGF-A and CTGF genes ***,the latter demonstrates significantly greater efficacy,potentially due to the lower UMB dosage and gradual *** findings have implications for anti-angiogenesis therapeutic approaches targeting age-related macular degeneration.

Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide, with breast cancer being the most common (2.26 million new cases and 685,000 deaths). In Saudi Arabia, breast cancer ranked the first among females in 2014, accounting for 15.9% of all cancers reported among Saudi nationals and 28.7% of all cancers reported among females of all ages. Early detection of breast cancer could decrease the risks, have a better prognosis, and have better outcomes/more successful treatments. Prevalence of breast cancer reached more than 25% of all diagnosed cancer in the kingdom among women. Aim: This study aims to assess the knowledge and performance of women attending primary care centers about breast self-examination and mammogram screening for prevention and early detection of breast cancer in Abha city primary healthcare centers, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. research Method: cross sectional design was conducted by using questionnaire, which was distributed to primary care center nurses. The collected data was statistically analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences, version 25. results: The study found that participants had poor awareness and knowledge about breast self-examination, risk factors for breast cancer, and trends and practices in early diagnosis of breast cancer. Conclusion and recommendations: It recommends increasing awareness campaigns and providing educational programs to improve knowledge and practices.

Synthesizing CNT-TiO_(2) nanocomposite and experimental pore-scale displacement of crude oil during nanofluid flooding

Metallic nanoparticles and carbon nanomaterials have been extensively studied in enhanced oil *** nanotube(CNT)/TiO_(2) nanocomposite is synthesized and investigated in terms of contact angle,interfacial tension(IFT),emulsion stability,*** performance in oil displacement in porous media is evaluated through glass micromodel *** synthesized CNT/TiO_(2) is composed of TiO_(2)-based nanocomposites and CNTs as reinforcement ***_(2) is the dominant crystalline phase,and TiO_(2) nanoparticles cover on the ***/TiO_(2) nanocomposite is able to alter the wetting conditions of the rock from strong oil-wet to hydrophilic conditions and effectively reduce the interfacial ***/TiO_(2) nanocomposite plays an effective role in stabilizing the Pickering emulsions,and even forms stable emulsions at high temperature as 90℃.For NaCl concentration of up to 2%,a stable emulsion can be formed even after 7 *** is observed from glass micromodel experiments that the CNT/TiO_(2) nanofluid provides a higher recovery factor denoting its promising performance in enhanced oil recovery.

Efficient management of air quality requires a comprehensive emission inventory to support decision-making on air quality *** article presents a comprehensive framework for detailed emission inventory development in cities with low-quality basic data,which examines the emission of primary criteria pollutants(CO,NO_(x),SO_(2),PM_(2.5),PM_(10),and VOC)from mobile sources,residential,commercial,and public services,fuel stations,transport terminals,energy conversion sections,and *** research was applied to Tabriz in Northwest Iran,one of the polluted medium-sized cities with a population of 1.77 *** show the city daily emission per capita is 569.8 g of CO,68.6 g of NO_(x),38.6 g of VOC,17.6 g of SO_(x),and 3.7 g of *** emissions accounted for 98%of CO,91%of VOCs,61%of NO_(x),and 56%of PM;meaning alternative policy strategies in vehicles would reduce emissions *** applicable and effective scenarios in transport and one concerning stationary sourceswere proposed and reduction potential of themwas *** of the public transport improvement and replacement of old passenger cars were founded the key *** two alternatives decrease 14 and 2 tons of SO_(2) and 6797 and 2394 tons of NO_(x) annually with the cost of$99.5 MM and$366.5 MM,*** findings of this study provides the choice of travel method by each citizen is a function of cost,speed,comfort and safety of travel;therefore,all the requirements of any scenarios must be fully considered in the implementation step.
