The coastal dunes located near the Ashirmata region, south of Mandvi beach lies near the straight coast have been stud-ied by making use of sedimentological information and Ground Penetrating radar (GPr) data. Sedimentological analy-sis reveals the NNW-SSE trending longitudinal dunes consists of well sorted fine sands with unimodal distribution pos-sibly formed by constant wind gust and also the point out to the origin of sediments from single source;mostly the sediments derived from Indus delta transported to beach by long shore drift and tidal waves, carried inland by local on-shore winds. The radargram confirms, the homogenous sand layers with paleosols at shallow depth slip faces are proba-bly formed due to extreme storm activity of recent.

We have studied the dissociation phenomenon of 1p states (χc and χb) of the charmonium and bottomonium spectra in a hot QCD medium. This study employed a medium modified heavy quark potential encoding the medium effects in the dielectric function to the full Cornell potential. The medium modified potential has a quite different form in the sense that it has a long range Coulomb tail in addition to the usual Yukawa term even above the deconfinement temperature. We further study the flavor dependence of their binding energies and explore the nature of dissociation by employing the perturbative, non-perturbative, and the lattice parametrized form of the Debye masses in the medium-modified potential. Interestingly, perturbative result of the Debye mass predicts the dissociation temperatures closer to the results obtained in lattice correlator studies whereas the lattice parametrized form of the Debye masses gives the results closer to the current theoretical works based on potential studies.

Two-dimensional(2D)gas chromatography(GC)provides enhanced vapor separation capabilities in contrast to conventional one-dimensional GC and is useful for the analysis of highly complex chemical *** developed a microfabricated flow-restricted pneumatic modulator(FrPM)for portable comprehensive 2D micro-GC(μGC),which enables rapid ^(2)D injection and separation without compromising the ^(1)D separation speed and eluent peak profiles.^(2)D injection characteristics such as injection peak width and peak height were fully characterized by using flow-through micro-photoionization detectors(μPIDs)at the FrPM inlet and outlet.A ^(2)D injection peak width of~25 ms could be achieved with a ^(2)D/^(1)D flow rate ratio over *** FrPM was further integrated with a 0.5-m long ^(2)D μcolumn on the same chip,and its performance was ***,we developed an automated portable comprehensive 2D μGC consisting of a 10m OV-11D μcolumn,an integrated FrPM with a built-in 0.5m polyethylene glycol ^(2)D μcolumn,and two μ*** separation of 40 volatile organic compounds in~5 min was demonstrated.A hybrid 2D contour plot was constructed by using both ^(1)D and ^(2)D chromatograms obtained with the two μPIDs at the end of the ^(1)D and ^(2)D μcolumns,which was enabled by the presence of the flow resistor in the FrPM.

Tissue engineering scaffolds require a controlled pore size and interconnected pore structures to support the host tissue growth. In the present study, three dimensional （3D） hybrid scaffolds of poly lactic acid （PLA） and poly glycolic acid （PGA） were fabricated using solvent casting/particulate leaching. In this case, partially fused NaCl particles were used as porogen （200-300μ） to improve the overall porosity （≥90%） and internal texture of scaffolds. Differential scanning calorimeter （DSC） analysis of these porous scaffolds revealed a gradual reduction in glass transition temperature （Tg）（from 48°C to 42.5°C） with increase in hydrophilic PGA content. The potential applications of these scaffolds as implants were further tested for their biocompatibility and biodegradability in four simulated body fluid （SBF） types in vitro. Whereas, simulated body fluid （SBF） Type1 with the optimal amount of HCO 3 ions was found to be more appropriate and sensible for testing the bioactivity of scaffolds. Among three combinations of polymer scaffolds, sample B with a ratio of 75：25 of PLA： PGA showed greater stability in body fluids （pH 7.2） with an optimum degradation rate （9% to 12% approx）. X-ray diffractogram also confirmed a thin layer of hydroxyapatite deposition over sample B with all SBF types in vitro.

Laboratory and green house experiments were carried out to evaluate the efficacy of fungicides, biological agents and host resistance in managing FHB and the associated T-2 toxin. In vitro activity of fungicides and antagonists was determined by paired culture method. Effect of microbial agents on FHB severity and mycotoxin content was determined by co-inoculating F. graminearum and F. poae with Alternaria spp., Epicoccum spp. and Trichoderma spp. Fungicides Pearl? (500 g/L carbendazim), Cotaf? (50 g/L hexaconacole), Thiovit? (micronised sulphur 80% w/w) and Folicur? (430 g/L tebuconazole) were the standard checks. Host resistance was determined by inoculating F. poae and F. graminearum to four wheat cultivars and fifteen lines in pot ex-periments. Fungicides resulted in 100% inhibition of pathogen radial growth in in vitro while microbial agents suppressed pathogen growth by up to 53%. Thiovit? and Trichoderma were the most effective in reducing FHB severity in green house pot experiments. The wheat cultivars and lines varied in susceptibility with cultivar Njoro BW II showing least susceptibility while line r1104, cv. Mbuni and cv. KIBIS were most susceptible. All the wheat cultivars and lines accumulated T-2 toxin by up to 5 to 28 μg/kg. The results indicated that neither fungicides nor antagonists can solely be relied on in managing FHB and toxin accumulation. Therefore, integration of biocontrol agents, fungicides and further breeding efforts to improve lines and cultivars with promising resistance to FHB and T2-toxin contamina-tion is recommended.

Nucleosides and Nucleotides are polydentate ligands, offering potential binding sites for metal ions. Energy interaction parameters: Slater Condon Fk (cm-1), Spin Orbit interaction ξ4f? (cm-1), Nephelauxetic ratio (β), Bonding (b1/2) and Covalency (δ) parameter for the interaction of Pr(III) with Nucleoside and Nucleotide are evaluated to study the mode of binding of the Nucleic Acid Components (Guanosine and Guanosine Triphosphate) with Pr(III). Further Intensity Parameters like Oscillation Strength and Judd Ofelt Parameter (T2, T4, T6) have been evaluated to investigate degree of inner or outer sphere co-ordination of Pr(III) with Nucliec Acid ligands. Comperative Absorption Spectra in different solvents substantiate the informations, gathered from the evaluated values of both energy interaction and intensity parameters. Further evaluation of Thermodynamic parameters (ΔG, ΔH and ΔS) through Kinetic studies enable to provide the detailed information about the reaction pathways and thermodynamic behavour of the complexation process of neucleosides and nucleotides with Pr(III) and Ca2+.

The processes leading to the growth and inhibition of equatorial anomaly before major earthquake (EQ) were viewed in this paper by examining global Total Electron Content (TEC) that contoured over longitude sectors covering Africa to Pacific, in association with EQ events of Japan (M = 9) that occurred at 135°E to 145°E and 35°N to 40°N, on March 9 and 11, 2011 and of Indonesia (M = 8.6) that took place at 2.311°N, 93°E, in April 11, 2012. The paper focuses on the development of abnormal increase in density in the night sector around—10° latitude zone prior to the two major EQ events, though their epicenters are separated widely from the anomaly region. The F-layer density variations from relevant locations and TEC features obtained from GPS at Appleton anomaly crest station are utilized as supporting inputs. The possible sources leading to the anomalous development in density are discussed in the frame of EQ time consequences of lithospheric-atmospheric processes between the equator and beyond. The role of electric field generated by pre EQ preparatory activities and dynamical coupling modes through seismic fault line are brought in to the ambit of discussion.

Fluoride above 1.5 mg·L-1 is injurious to health. removal of fluoride from water using mesoporous MCM-41 as a strong adsorbent material has been attempted. Characterization using transmission electron microscopic study of calcined MCM-41 showed the regular hexagonal array of mesoporous channels with an average size of 20 nm and the surface area (BET study) of 1306.96 m2·g-1. The average pore size of the particles was found to be 14.21 nm. A study on the effect of contact time on the removal of fluoride revealed that more than 85% uptake of fluoride onto MCM-41 was achieved at a contact time of 120 min. From the Langmuir adsorption study, the maximum sorption capacity of fluoride was found to be 63.05 mg/g at 301 K. From the thermodynamic study, the +ΔHo value of 2.29 kJ·mol-1 indicated the endothermic nature of the removal process. Application of response Surface Model suggested that 77.88%
