Silicon is an essential alloying element in quenching and partitioning(Q&P)steels,because it is known to suppress carbide precipitation during partitioning step and promote carbon partitioning to stabilize *** 2 wt%Si was added to 10Mn-2Al-0.2C steel,the size and fraction of the carbides formed during partitioning became smaller than in the Si-free ***,the suppression of carbide formation promoted C partitioning into austenite as ***,austenite stability was always lower with Si under the equivalent partitioning condition because Si effectively decreased the stacking fault energy of *** partitioning progressed,the both yield and tensile strengths of the Si-added steel exceeded that of the Si-free steel with the similar ductility *** was because Si was an effective solid solution strengthener,and the austenite in the Si-added steel exhibited the appropriate stability to gradually transform into martensite throughout the *** resulting strengthening effect compensated for the softening caused by martensite ***,strain hardening rate decreased continuously throughout deformation,which resulted in high tensile strength and ductility.

Mercury(Hg^(2+)),one of the most dangerous toxins in water,is a heavy metal that causes organ damage from both short-term and chronic *** methods for detecting mercury such as atomic absorption spectrometry or raman spectroscopy require bulky equipment with complicated *** this work,we fabricated a highly sensitive,real-time thin-film sensor based on vertically aligned rhenium disulfide(reS_(2)).Its outstanding large surface area and the unique electronic appearance of its layered architecture make a reS_(2) nanosheet a strong contender for such an *** sensor exhibited a fast response speed(ralow detection limit of 4 nM,which is significantly less than that of the *** Protection Agency's(***)allowed utmost contamination limit for Hg^(2+)in drinking water(10 nM).It also exhibited strong selectivity for Hg^(2+)against other metal ions such as Na^(+),Zn^(2+),Fe^(3+),Cu^(2+),Ca^(2+),Ni^(2+),Ag+,Cd^(2+),Fe^(2+),and Pb^(2+).Because this nanosheet can be replaced with any secondary substrate and possibly patterned into a microscale size,the sensor can be integrated into multiple platforms such as portable devices or sensor nodes in a grid network.

Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is the sixth most common cancer in the *** majority of patients with HCC present with unresectable *** patients have historically had limited treatment options secondary to HCC demonstrating chemoresistance to the currently available systemic ***, normal liver parenchyma has shown intolerance to tumoricidal radiation doses,limiting the use of external beam *** of these limitations,novel percutaneous liver-directed therapies have emerged. The targeted infusion of radioactive microspheres (radioembolization)represents one such therapy. radioembolization is a minimally invasive transcatheter therapy through which radioactive microspheres are infused into the hepatic arteries that supply tumor. Once infused,these microspheres traverse the hepatic vascular plexus and selectively implant within the tumor *** within the arterioles, the 90Y impregnated microspheres emit high energy and low penetrating radiation doses selectively to the *** has recently shown promise for the treatment of patients with unresectable HCC. The objective of this review article is to highlight twocurrently available radioembolic devices(90Y,188rh)and provide the reader with a recent review of the literature.

Biomaterial-based drug delivery systems have been developed to expedite cartilage regeneration;however,challenges related to drug recovery,validation,and efficient drug delivery *** instance,compound k(Ck)is a major metabolite of ginsenosides that is known to protect against joint degeneration by inhibiting the production of inflammatory cytokines and the activation of immune ***,its effects on cartilage degradation and tissue regeneration remain ***,tissue-adhesive drug delivery depots that stably adhere to cartilage defects are required for Ck *** this study,Ck-loaded adhesive patches were reported to seal cartilage defects and deliver Ck to defect sites,preventing cartilage degradation and accelerating cartilage tissue *** patches are stable and suitable for application in surgical procedures under physiological conditions and show excellent adhesiveness to cartilage *** addition,there were no significant differences in the adhesive polymeric networks before and after Ck ***-loaded hydrocaffeic acid-conjugated chitosan patches significantly inhibited the stimulation of cartilage-degrading enzymes and apoptosis in osteoarthritic cartilage by releasing Ck in cartilage ***,the NFkB signaling pathway of released Ck from the adhesive patches in the treatment of osteoarthritis is ***,the Ck-loaded adhesive patches are expected to significantly contribute to cartilage regeneration.

Neural network-based generative models have been actively investigated as an inverse design method for finding novel materials in a vast design ***,the applicability of conventional generative models is limited because they cannot access data outside the range of training *** generative models that were devised to overcome the limitation also suffer from the weak predictive power on the unseen *** this study,we propose a deep neural network-based forward design approach that enables an efficient search for superior materials far beyond the domain of the initial training *** approach compensates for the weak predictive power of neural networks on an unseen domain through gradual updates of the neural network with active transfer learning and data augmentation *** demonstrate the potential of our framework with a grid composite optimization problem that has an astronomical number of possible design *** show that our proposed framework can provide excellent designs close to the global optima,even with the addition of a very small dataset corresponding to less than 0.5%of the initial training dataset size.

A new dimmer using a mental-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET) for alternating-current (AC) directly driven light-emitting-diode (LED) lamp was presented. The control method of proposed dimmer is pulse width control (PWM) method. Compared with the conventional phase-controlled dimmer, the proposed PWM dimmer can produce sine wave and did not cause harmonics problem. Furthermore, the proposed control method did not amplify the light flicker due to the independence of input voltage. Therefore, the PWM dimmer can be used as the dimmer of the AC LED lamp instead of the conventional phase-controlled dimmer. The experimental result shows that the proposed PWM dimmer has good performances.

This study is aimed at the development of a statistical model for forecasting heavy rain in South korea. For the 3-hour weather forecast system, the 10 km×10 km area-mean amount of rainfall at 6 stations （Seoul, Daejeon, Gangreung, （Jwangju, Busan, and Jeju） in South korea are used. And the corresponding 45 synoptic factors generated by the numerical model are used as potential predictors. Four statistical forecast models （linear regression model, logistic regression model, neural network model and decision tree model） for the occurrence of heavy rain are based on the model output statistics （MOS） method. They are separately estimated by the same training data. The thresholds are considered to forecast the occurrence of heavy rain because the distribution of estimated values that are generated by each model is too skewed. The results of four models are compared via Heidke skill scores. As a result, the logistic regression model is recommended.

Environmental sensitivity varies across developmental phases in flowering plants. In the juvenile phase, mi- crorNA156 （mir156）-mediated repression of SQUAMOSA PrOMOTEr-BINDING PrOTEIN-LIkE （SPL） transcription factors renders Arabidopsis plants incompetent to floral inductive signals, including long- day （LD） photoperiod. During the vegetative phase transition, which accompanies a reduction of mir156 and a concomitant elevation of its targets, plants acquire reproductive competence such that LD signals promote flowering. However, it remains largely unknown how developmental signals are associated with photoperiodic flowering. Here, we show that SPL3, SPL4, and SPL5 （SPL3/4/5） potentiate the FLOWErING LOCUS T （FT）-FD module in photoperiodic flowering. SPL3/4/5 function as transcriptional activators through the interaction with FD, a basic leucine zipper transcription factor which plays a critical role in photoperiodic flowering. SPL3/4/5 can directly bind to the promoters of APETALA1, LEAFY, and FrUITFULL, thus mediating their activation by the FT-FD complex. Our findings demonstrate that SPL3/ 4/5 act synergistically with the FT-FD module to induce flowering under LDs, providing a long-sought mo- lecular.k.ob that links developmental aging and photoperiodic flowering.
