The Lunar.Envir.nment heliospher.c X-r.y Imager.LEXI)and Solar.wind Magnetospher. Ionospher. Link Explor.r.SMILE)missions will image the Ear.h’s dayside magneto pause and cusps in soft X-r.ys after.their.r.spective launches in the near.futur.,to specify glo bal magnetic r.connection modes for.var.ing solar.wind *** suppo r. the success of these scientific missions,it is cr.tical to develop techniques that extr.ct the magnetopause locations fr.m the obser.ed soft X-r.y *** this r.sear.h,we intr.duce a new geometr.c equation that calculates the subsolar.magnetopause position(r.)fr.m a satellite position,the look dir.ction of the instr.ment,and the angle at which the X-r.y emission is *** assumptions ar. used in this method:(1)The look dir.ction wher. soft X-r.y emissions ar. maximized lies tangent to the magnetopause,and(2)the magnetopause sur.ace near.the subsolar.point is almost spher.cal and thus r.is nea r.y equal to the r.dius of the magneto pause *** cr.ate synthetic soft X-r.y images by using the Open Geospace Gener.l Cir.ulation Model(OpenGGCM)global magnetohydr.dynamic model,the galactic backgr.und,the instr.ment point spr.ad function,and Poisson *** then apply the fast Four.er.tr.nsfor. and Gaussian low-pass filte r. to the synthetic images to r. move noise and obtain accur.te look angles for.the soft X-r.y pea *** the filte r.d images,we calculate r. and its accur.cy for.differ.nt LEXI locations,look dir.ctions,and solar.wind densities by using the OpenGGCM subsolar.magnetopause location as gr.und *** method estimates r. with an accur.cy ofr. when the solar.wind density exceeds>10 *** accur.cy impr.ves for.gr.ater.solar.wind densities and dur.ng southwar. inter.lanetar. magnetic *** method ca ptur.s the magnetopause motion dur.ng southwa r. inter.laneta r. magnetic field ***,the technique will enable quantitative analysis of the magnetopause motion and help r.veal the daysi

Aim: To study the expr.ssion of pr.line-r.ch Akt-substr.te Pr.S40 in the cell sur.ival pathway and tumor.pr.gr.ssion. Methods: The effects of thr.e key kinase inhibitor. on Pr.S40 activity in the cell sur.ival pathway, ser.m withdr.wal,U2O2and over.xpr.ssion of Akt wer. tested. The expr.ssion of Pr.S40, Akt, r.f and 14-3-3 in nor.al cells and cancer.cell lines was deter.ined by Wester. blot. r.sults: The PI3K inhibitor. wor.hmannin and Ly294002, but not r.pamycin, completely inhibited the phosphor.lation of Akt and Pr.S40. The phosphor.lation level of Akt decr.ased after.ser.m withdr.wal and tr.atment with the MEK inhibi tor.Uo 126, but incr.ased after.tr.atment with H2O2at low concentr.tion, wher.as none of these tr.atments changed Pr.S40 activity. 14-3-3 is a Pr.S40 binding pr.tein, and the expr.ssion of 14-3-3, like that of Pr.S40, was higher.in HeLa cells than in HEK293 cells; Pr.S40 had a str.nger.phosphor.lation activity in A549 and HeLa cancer.cells than in HEK293 nor.al cells. In the br.ast cancer.model (MCF10A/MCF7) and lung cancer.model (BEAS/H1198/H1170) we also found the same r.sult: Pr.S40 was constitutively active in H1198/H1170 and MCF7 pr.malignant and malignant cancer.cells, but weakly expr.ssed in MCF10A and BEAS nor.al cell. We also discussed Pr.S40 activity in other.NSCLC cell lines. Conclusion: The PI3K-Akt sur.ival pathway is the main pathway that Pr.S40 is involved in; Pr.S40 is a substr.te for.Akt, but can also be activated by an Akt independent mechanisms. Pr.S40 activation is an ear.y event dur.ng br.ast and lung car.inogenesis.

A 2-year.study was conducted to char.cter.ze the inter.r.p movement of conver. gent lady beetle, Hippodamia conver.ens Guer.n-Meneville （Coleopter.： Coccinellidae） between adjacent cotton and alfalfa. A dual pr.tein-mar.ing method was used to assess the inter.r.p movement of the lady beetles in each cr.p. In tur.s field collected lady beetles in each cr.p wer. assayed by pr.tein specific ELISA to quantify the movement of beetles between the cr.ps. r.sults indicated that a high per.entage of conver.ent lady beetles caught in cotton （46% in 2008; 56% in 2009） and alfalfa （46% in 2008; 71% in 2009） contained a pr.tein mar., thus indicating that conver.ent lady beetle movement was lar.ely bidir.ctional between the adjacent cr.ps. Although at a much lower.pr.por.ion, lady beetles also showed unidir.ctional movement fr.m cotton to alfalfa （5% in 2008 and 6% in 2009） and fr.m alfalfa to cotton （9% in 2008 and 14% in 2009）. The season-long bidir.ctional movement exhibited by the beetles was significantly higher.in alfalfa than cotton dur.ng both year. of the study. The total influx of lady beetles （bidir.ctional and unidir.ctional combined） was significantly higher.in alfalfa compar.d with that in cotton for.both year.. While conver.ent lady beetles moved between adjacent cotton and alfalfa, they wer. mor. attr.cted to alfalfa when cotton was not flower.ng and/or.when alfalfa of- fer.d mor. oppor.unities for.pr.y. This study offer. much needed infor.ation on inter.r.p movement of the conver.ent lady beetle that should facilitate integr.ted pest management decisions in cotton utilizing conser.ation biological contr.l.

The eukar.otic actin cytoskeleton is r.quir.d for.numer.us cellular.pr.cesses, including cell shape, development and movement, gene expr.ssion and signal tr.nsduction, and r.sponse to biotic and abiotic str.ss. In r.cent year.,r.sear.h in both plants and animal systems have descr.bed a function for.actin as the ideal sur.eillance platfor., linking the function and activity of pr.mar. physiological pr.cesses to the immune system. In this r.view, we will highlight r.cent advances that have defined the r.gulation and br.adth of function of the actin cytoskeleton as a networ. r.quir.d for.defense signaling following pathogen infection. Coupled with an over.iew of r.cent wor. demonstr.ting specific tar.eting of the plant actin cytoskeleton by a diver.ity of pathogens,including bacter.a, fungi and vir.ses, we will highlight the impor.ance of actin as a key signaling hub in plants, one that mediates sur.eillance of cellular.homeostasis and the activation of specific signaling r.sponses following pathogen per.eption. B4 ased on the studies highlighted her.in, we pr.pose a wor.ing model that posits changes in actin filament or.anization is in and of itself a highly specific signal, which induces, r.gulates and physically dir.cts stimulus-specific signaling pr.cesses, most impor.antly, those associated with r.sponse to pathogens.

Exer.ise tr.ining pr.vides physiological benefits for.both impr.ving athletic per.or.ance and maintaining good health. Differ.nt exer.ise tr.ining modalities and str.tegies exist. Two common exer.ise str.tegies ar. high-intensity inter.al tr.ining （HIIT） and moder.te-intensity continuous exer.ise tr.ining （MCT）. HIIT was fir.t used ear.y in the 20th centur. and popular.zed later.that centur. for.impr.ving per.or.ance of Olympic athletes. The pr.mar. pr.mise under.ying HIIT is that, compar.d to ener.y expenditur.-matched MCT, a gr.ater.amount of wor. is per.or.ed at a higher.intensity dur.ng a single exer.ise session which is achieved by alter.ating high-intensity exer.ise inter.als with low-intensity exer.ise or.r.st inter.als. Emer.ing r.sear.h suggests that this same tr.ining method can pr.vide beneficial effects for.patients with a chr.nic disease and should be included in the compr.hensive medical management plan. Accor.ingly, a major.consider.tion in developing an individual exer.ise pr.scr.ption for.a patient with a chr.nic disease is the selection of an appr.pr.ate exer.ise str.tegy. In or.er.to maximize exer.ise tr.ining benefits, this str.tegy should be tailor.d to the individual＇s need.
