To study cold signaling, we scr.ened for.Ar.bidopsis mutants with alter.d cold-induced tr.nscr.ption of a fir.fly lucifer.se r.por.er.gene dr.ven by the CBF3 pr.moter.（CBF3-LUC）. One mutant, chy1-10, displayed r.duced cold-induction of CBF3-LUC luminescence. r.A gel blot analysis r.vealed that expr.ssion of endogenous CBFs also was r.duced in the chyl mutant, chy1-10 mutant plants ar. mor. sensitive to fr.ezing tr.atment than wild-type after.cold acclimation. Both the wild-type and chyl mutant plants ar. sensitive to dar.ness-induced star.ation at war. temper.tur.s, although chyl plants ar. slightly mor. sensitive. This dar.-sensitivity is suppr.ssed by cold temper.tur. in the wildtype but not in chyl. Constitutive CBF3 expr.ssion par.ially r.scues the sensitivity of chyl-10 plants to dar. tr.atment in the cold. The chyl mutant accumulates higher.levels of r.active oxygen species, and application of hydr.gen per.xide can r.duce cold-induction of CBF3-LUC in wild-type. Map-based cloning of the gene defective in the mutant r.vealed a nonsense mutation in CHY1, which encodes a per.xisomal β-hydr.xyisobutyr.l （HIBYL）-CoA hydr.lase needed for.valine catabolism and fatty acid β-oxidation. Our.r.sults suggest a r.le for.per.xisomal metabolism in cold str.ss signaling, and plant toler.nce to cold str.ss and dar.ness-induced star.ation.

By using the finite volume method with volume of fluid model and global dynamic mesh technique, the effects of Fr.ude number.and geometr. on the water.entr. pr.cess of a 2-D ellipse ar. investigated numer.cally. For.the time histor. of the ver.ical for.e, the computational fluid dynamics（CFD） r.sults match the exper.mental data much better.than the classical potential-flow theor.es due to the consider.tion of the viscosity, tur.ulence, sur.ace tension, gr.vity, and compr.ssibility. The r.sults show that the position of peak.pr.ssur. on ellipse shifts fr.m the spr.y r.ot to the bottom of ellipse at a cr.tical time. The cr.tical time changes with the geometr. and Fr.ude number. By studying the ver.ical for.e, the ellipse water.entr. pr.cess can be divided into the initial and late stages based on the cr.tical dimensionless time of about 0.1. The geometr. of the ellipse plays a dominant r.le in the initial stage, while the Fr.ude number.is mor. impor.ant in the late stage of entr.. The classical Wagner.theor. is extended to the ellipse water.entr., and the pr.dicted maximum value of ver.ical for.e coefficient in the initial stage is 4？a/b that matches the CFD r.sults ver. well, wher. a and b ar. the hor.zontal axis and ver.ical axis of the ellipse par.llel and per.endicular.to the initial calm water.sur.ace, r.spectively.

A theor.tical analysis of thr.e-dimensional Couette flow with r.diation effect on temper.tur. distr.bution has been analysed, when the injection of the fluid at the lower.stationar. plate is a tr.nsver.e sinusoidat one and its cor.esponding r.moval by constant suction thr.ugh the upper.por.us plate is in unifor. motion. Due to this type of injection velocity, the flow becomes thr.e-dimensional. The effect of Pr.ndtl number. r.diation par.meter.and injection par.meter.on r.te of heat tr.nsfer.has been examined by the help of gr.phs. Bone is a dynamic str.ctur. and is k.own to r.spond to changes in the load over.time, in accor.ance with Wolff’s law. It states that the bone changes its shape and inter.al ar.hitectur. in r.sponse to str.sses acting on it [1]. Ther.for., any str.ctur.l changes in the spine may lead to bone r.modeling due to changes in the optimal str.ss patter.. The changes in appar.nt density and thick.ess of the endplates following discectomy of var.ing amounts wer. analyzed. The study design coupled a bone r.modeling algor.thm based on str.in ener.y density theor. of adaptive r.modeling with an exper.mentally validated 3D ligamentous finite element model of the spine. The appar.nt density and thick.ess of the index level endplates decr.ased above and below the r.gion of discectomy. On the other.hand, these par.meter. showed incr.ases at the r.maining r.gions of the endplate. Ther. wer. no cor.elations between the amount of nucleus r.moved and the aver.ge per.entage changes in appar.nt density and thick.ess of endplate above and below the discectomy r.gion. However. the aver.ge per.entage changes in appar.nt density and thick.ess at endplate in the other.r.gion incr.ased with incr.ase in amount of nucleus r.moved. These pr.dictions ar. in agr.ement with the clinical obser.ations [2-6].

BACk.r.UND:The pr.sence of pancr.atic ductal intr.epithelial neoplasia in patients with chr.nic pancr.atitis is a r.sk.factor.for.development of pancr.atic adenocar.inoma. METHOD:A case of pancr.atic ductal adenocar.inoma associated with pancr.atic ductal intr.epithelial neoplasia was diagnosed in the setting of chr.nic pancr.atitis. r.SULTS:Distal pancr.atectomy combined with splenec- tomy was per.or.ed with a diagnosis of pancr.atic body *** examination suggested adenocar.inoma associated with pancr.atic ductal intr.epithelial *** tumor.was detected in the r.maining head of the pancr.as,for.which a total pancr.atectomy was done. CONCLUSIONS:When a patient with pancr.atic ductal intr.epithelial neoplasia associated with adenocar.inoma of the pancr.as in the setting of chr.nic pancr.atitis is at an incr.ased r.sk.of r.cur.ence in the r.maining pancr.atic par.nchyma,total pancr.atectomy may be feasible.

This wor. descr.bes the synthesis and evaluation of pyr.zole and calix[4]ar.ne cr.wn adsor.ents for.selective separ.tion of platinum, palladium, and gold and cesium ions, r.spectively, fr.m solutions. Due to incr.asingly str.ngent envir.nmental pollution nor.s,ther. is a need for.alter.ate combustion techniques and alter.ate fuels to k.ep up with changing *** of the viable solutions for.India is the adaptation of methanol as a fuel for.automotive ***,in this study a functional two-wheeler.pr.totype was developed,which uses M85(85%v/v methanol and 15%v/v gasoline)in an electr.nic contr.l unit(ECU)contr.lled por. fuel injected(PFI)*** study included compar.tive investigations of simulated on-r.ad two-wheeler.per.or.ance on chassis dynamometer.using a gasoline-fuelled motor.ycle with stock.ECU vis-a-vis M85-fuelled motor.ycle using r.calibr.ted *** r.calibr.tion exhibited that M85-fuelled vehicle was oper.ted at r.latively mor. advanced spar. timing compar.d to baseline gasoline-fuelled *** r.sults showed that M85-fuelled motor.ycle pr.duced r.latively higher.engine power.and higher.maximum vehicle speed compar.d to gasoline-fuelled *** super.or.acceler.tion char.cter.stics(especially at higher.speeds)of M85-fuelled motor.ycle was another.impor.ant finding of this study,indicating that M85 pr.vided super.or.thr.ttle r.sponse compar.d to *** analysis of r.w tailpipe emissions showed that modified M85-fuelled motor.ycle emitted r.latively higher.hydr.car.on(HC),car.on monoxide(CO)and oxides of nitr.gen(NO_x)emissions compar.d to stock.gasoline-fuelled ***,these emissions can be contr.lled by using adaptation of suitable after.tr.atment systems.
