The Monte Santo Alkaline Intrusive Suite (MSAIS) is an association syenite foid, nepheline syenite and syenite. The MSAIS rocks are intruded in metapelites of the rio do Coco meta-volcanic-sedi- mentary Sequence and are abundant pegmathoid veins cutting all of them. The mineral paragenesis is represented by aegirina, arfvedsonite, albite and nepheline, crystallized during the initial phase of crystallization. A late magmatic phase show nepheline, perthite, calcite and biotite, and a hydrothermal phase allowed for the formation of cancrinite, sodalite, analcime and natrolita associated with altered nepheline. The geochemical analyses showed metaluminous and medium to high potassium characteristics, being classified as miaskitic rocks, according to agpaicity and the Na + K > 1/6Si indexes. However, the mineralogical assemblage suggests a low to medium agpaitic composition, which can be related to a transition from miaskitic to agpaitic crystallization regime. The rare earth elements showed depletion in heavy rare earth and a strong negative Eu anomaly and enrichments in the some lithophile elements, suggesting a differentiated pattern later, which can be associated to metasomatic alterations.

The Monte Santo Alkaline Intrusive Suite (MSAIS) is an association syenite foid, nepheline syenite and syenite, which are intruded in metapelites of the rio do Coco meta-volcanic-sedimentary Sequence, presenting abundant pegmathoid veins cutting all of them. The ages obtained by Shrimp (1051 ± 22 Ma, 1048 ± 11 Ma) are very close those younger age obtained by U-Pb laser ablation (1056 ± 21), beeing interpreted as crystallization age. These dating reveal also that MSAIS rocks were affected by common succession of younger events below 550 Ma ago, responsible by the later rocky bodies of varying composition occurring in the region, including the alkaline pegmatites hosted in the nepheline syenite of the MSAIS.

Background:In Cerrado humid areas,veredas are considered as hygrophilous communities,marked by the presence of the Mauritia flexuosa palm tree emerging in the wetter zones.Changes in veredas ecosystems due to drought and changes in the water table,which represent important areas for biodiversity maintenance in the Brazilian cerrado,can lead to the emergence of new landscapes and ecosystems.Assuming that the veredas are changed in species composition due to anthropogenic factors,in this study,we evaluated the flora composition and described the current vegetation profile of two veredas under different disturbances levels that are located in the north of Minas Gerais State,Brazil.results:Altogether,2,268 individuals of 91 species belonging to 36 families were recorded.Our results demonstrated that the studied veredas were floristically different in terms of the arboreous-shrubby species composition,richness,and diversity.Despite the hygrophilous forest formations and open areas in the two veredas present typical species from these environments(same species with high importance values),the drought in the water table caused an expansion of Cerrado species in the open areas and in the hygrophilous forest.Furthermore,in the hygrophilous forest there was an increase in the abundance of species that occur in less saturated soils.Conclusion:Our results demonstrate that the studied veredas are changing in species composition due to anthropogenic factors which leads to the drought of these formations(water balance effect).These anthropogenic effects cause a modification with the expansion and increase in the abundance of typical species of other areas of Cerrado and resistant to less saturated soils,leading to the veredas collapse.Finally,future studies should investigate other veredas on a broader scale to detect changes in the water table that lead to a consequent change in vegetation structure.In this way,we will have support for the conscientious management and conservation of these areas that represent equilibrium plac

Effects of protein deprivation and re-feeding on P2X_2 receptors in enteric neurons

AIM:To investigate the effects of malnutrition and refeeding on the P2X2 receptor,nitric oxide synthase(NOS),calretinin,calbindin and choline acetyltransferase(ChAT) in neurons of the rat ileum.METHODS:We analyzed the co-localization,numbers and sizes of P2X2-expressing neurons in relation to NOS-immunoreactive(Ir),calbindin-Ir,ChAT-Ir,and calretinin-Ir neurons of the myenteric and submucosal plexus.The experimental groups consisted of:(1) rats maintained on normal feed throughout pregnancy until 42 d post-parturition(N);(2) rats deprived of protein throughout pregnancy and 42 d post-parturition(D);and(3) rats undernourished for 21 d post-parturition and then given a protein diet from days 22 to 42(Dr).The myenteric and submucosal plexuses were evaluated by double labeling by immunohistochemical methods for P2X2 receptor,NOS,ChAT,calbindin and calretinin.rESULTS:We found similar P2X2 receptor immunoreactivity in the cytoplasm and surface membranes of myenteric and submucosal neurons from the N,D and Dr groups.Double labeling of the myenteric plexus demonstrated that approximately 100% of NOS-Ir,calbindin-Ir,calretinin-Ir and ChAT-Ir neurons in all groups also expressed the P2X2 receptor.In the submucosal plexus,the calretinin-Ir,ChAT-Ir and calbindin-Ir neurons were nearly all immunoreactive for the P2X2 receptor.In the myenteric plexus,there was a 19% increase in numbers per cm2 for P2X2 receptor-Ir neurons,64% for NOS-Ir,84% for calretinin-Ir and 26% for ChAT-Ir neurons in the D group.The spatial density of calbindin-Ir neurons,however,did not differ among the three groups.The submucosal neuronal density increased for calbindin-Ir,calretinin-Ir and ChAT-Ir neurons.The average size of neurons in the myenteric plexus neurons in the D group was less than that in the controls and,in the re-fed rats;there was a 34% reduction in size only for the calretinin-Ir neurons.CONCLUSION:This work demonstrates that expression of the P2X2 receptor is present in inhibitory,intrinsic primary afferent,cholinergic secretomotor and

白钨矿是钨矿床中主要的载钨矿物,其独特的晶体结构使其富含微量元素,被广泛用于示踪钨成矿过程与流体源区。本文对南岭地区氧化型矽卡岩、还原型矽卡岩、黑钨矿-石英脉型、白钨矿-石英脉型、(矽卡岩-)云英岩型、(石英脉-)云英岩型钨矿床中白钨矿开展矿物组合和X-射线单晶衍射分析,实验结果显示:(1)白钨矿晶体结构存在一定差异,矽卡岩型钨矿中白钨矿Ca-O键长变化较大(0.0043 nm),石英脉型钨矿中白钨矿次之(0.0035 nm),云英岩型钨矿中白钨矿最小(0.0034 nm);(2)Ca-O键长的差异对最优替代稀土元素影响较大,氧化型矽卡岩钨矿中白钨矿从成矿早期到晚期,最优替代稀土元素从Pr-Nd(进变质阶段)、Pr-Sm(退变质阶段)转变为Nd-Sm(石英-方解石-萤石阶段),而(石英脉-)云英岩型钨矿中白钨矿呈现以Sm^(3+)为中心(Nd-Gd)的最优替代元素;(3)矽卡岩型和云英岩型钨矿中白钨矿,稀土元素主要通过Nb^(5+)耦合替代和空位替代进入白钨矿晶格,石英脉型钨矿的白钨矿中,稀土元素主要通过空位替代和Na+耦合替代进入白钨矿晶格。此外,岩浆流体中稀土特征、共生矿物沉淀、氧化还原环境、外来流体加入、水岩交代作用等对白钨矿中微量元素替代与稀土元素配分型式也具有较大影响。综合分析认为,矽卡岩型钨矿中白钨矿稀土元素配分型式主要受石榴子石等共生矿物沉淀控制,(矽卡岩-)云英岩型钨矿中白钨矿主要继承了岩浆流体的稀土元素配分型式,(石英脉-)云英岩型钨矿中白钨矿稀土元素配分型式主要受晶体结构影响,石英脉型钨矿中白钨矿经历了多阶段流体演化,稀土元素配分型式显示凸起—平坦—凹陷的变化。

原发性浆细胞白血病30例临床分析

目的分析原发性浆细胞白血病(pPCL)患者临床特征及联合蛋白酶体抑制剂治疗的效果,探讨其预后的影响因素。方法回顾性分析2014年3月-2023年6月南京鼓楼医院诊治的30例pPCL(外周血循环浆细胞比例≥5%)患者的临床及免疫学和细胞遗传学特征。30例一线治疗均给予蛋白酶体抑制剂,联合免疫调节剂(沙利度胺7例、来那度胺15例、泊马度胺1例)23例,达雷妥尤单抗4例,环磷酰胺、多柔比星脂质体各1例。一线治疗同期联合细胞毒性化疗药物、维奈克拉各4例。3例一线治疗后行自体造血干细胞移植(auto-HSCT)。一线治疗每2个周期评估1次疗效,记录一线治疗总有效率。5例一线治疗后复发者采用DPd(达雷妥尤单抗+泊马度胺+地塞米松)等方案再次治疗,其中2例病情再次进展者给予埃纳妥单抗。随访至2023年9月1日,记录30例患者总生存期和无进展生存期。采用单因素及多因素Cox回归分析影响pPCL患者死亡的影响因素。结果 (1)30例临床表现为贫血29例,血小板减少19例,血清乳酸脱氢酶升高14例,血清β2-微球蛋白升高30例;髓外病变14例;CD56不表达17例,高危细胞遗传学异常23例;t(4;14)4例,1q21扩增和t(4;14)3例;修订的国际分期系统分期Ⅲ期22例。(2)30例一线治疗后部分缓解10例,非常好的部分缓解2例,完全缓解3例,严格意义的完全缓解3例,一线治疗总有效率为60%。(3)末次随访时死亡21例,存活9例,中位无进展生存期为6个月,中位总生存期为8个月。2例接受auto-HSCT者严格意义的完全缓解后无进展生存期分别为59、27个月。(4)血清乳酸脱氢酶水平升高(Hr=8.584,95%CI:2.214~33.277,P=0.002)、t(4;14)(Hr=7.433,95%CI:1.269~43.549,P=0.026)、未联合免疫调节剂(Hr=0.215,95%CI:0.055~0.850,P=0.028)是pPCL患者死亡的危险因素。结论 pPCL患者易发生髓外病变,血清乳酸脱氢酶、β2-微球蛋白水平升高,多不表达CD56,高危细胞遗传学异常发生率高;一线治疗采用蛋白酶体抑制剂联合免疫调节剂和auto-HSCT可改善患者预后;血清乳酸脱氢酶升高、t(4;14)、未联合免疫调节剂的pPCL患者死亡风险增加。

Background Leprosy post-exposure prophylaxis(LPEP)with single dose rifampicin(SDr)can be integrated into different leprosy control program set-ups once contact tracing has been established.We analyzed the spatio-temporal changes in the distribution of index cases(IC)and co-prevalent cases among contacts of leprosy patients(CP)over the course of the LPEP program in one of the four study areas in Brazil,namely the municipality of Alta Floresta,state of Mato Grosso,in the Brazilian Amazon basin.Methods Leprosy cases were mapped,and socioeconomic indicators were evaluated to explain the leprosy distribution of all leprosy cases diagnosed in the period 2016–2018.Data were obtained on new leprosy cases[Notifiable diseases information system(Sinan)],contacts traced by the LPEP program,and socioeconomic variables[Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics(IBGE)].Kernel,SCAN,factor analysis and spatial regression were applied to analyze changes.results Overall,the new case detection rate(NCDr)was 20/10000 inhabitants or 304 new cases,of which 55 were CP cases among the 2076 examined contacts.Changes over time were observed in the geographic distribution of cases.The highest concentration of cases was observed in the northeast of the study area,including one significant cluster(relative risk=2.24;population 27427,P-valuerea characterized by different indicators associated with poverty as identified through spatial regression(Coefficient 3.34,P-value=0.01).Conclusions The disease distribution was partly explained by poverty indicators.LPEP influences the spatial dynamic of the disease and results highlighted the relevance of systematic contact surveillance for leprosy elimination.

Influence of mass-flow ratio of inner to outer secondary air on gas-particle flow near a swirl burner

The influence of mass-flow-rate ratio of inner to outer secondary air on gas-particle flow characteristics was determined in the near-burner region of a centrally fuel-rich swirl coal combustion burner, Velocity and particle volume flux profiles and normalized particle number concentrations were obtained. Peaks in tangential mean velocity and three-dimensional root-mean-square fluctuation velocities were found to decrease as the mass-flow-rate ratio increased. Moreover, the peaks in the mean axial velocities and parti- cle volume flux near the wall increased, whereas those near the chamber axis decreased. Simultaneously, both recirculation zone and swirl number decreased as the mass-flow-rate ratio increased.

BACKGrOUND Primary sclerosing cholangitis(PSC)manifests within a broad ethnic and racial spectrum,reflecting different levels of access to health care.AIM To evaluate the clinical profile,complications and survival rates of patients with PSC undergoing liver transplantation(LTx)at a Brazilian reference center.METHODS All patients diagnosed with PSC before or after LTx were included.The medical records were reviewed for demographic and clinical variables,including outcomes and survival.The level of statistical significance was set at PrESULTS Our cohort represented 1.6%(n=34)of the 2113 patients receiving liver grafts at our service over the past two decades.Most were male(n=19;56%).The average age(40±14 years)was similar for men and women(P=0.347).The mean follow-up time from diagnosis to LTx was 68 mo.Most patients had the classic form of PSC.Three women had PSC/autoimmune hepatitis overlap syndrome,and one patient had small-duct PSC.Alkaline phosphatase levels at diagnosis and pre-LTx model for end-stage liver disease.scores were significantly higher in males.Inflammatory bowel research(IBD)was investigated by colonoscopy in 26/34(76%)and was present in most cases(18/26;69%).IBD was less common in women than in men(44.4%vs.55.6%)(P=0.692).Cholangiocarcinoma(CCA)was diagnosed in 2/34(5.9%)patients by histopathology of the explant(survival:3 years 6 mo,and 4 years 11 mo).Two patients had complications requiring a second LTx(one after 7 d due to hepatic artery thrombosis and one after 17 d due to primary graft dysfunction).Five patients(14.7%)developed biliary stricture.The overall median post-LTx survival was 66 mo.Most deaths occurred in the first year(infection n=2,primary liver graft dysfunction n=3,unknown cause n=1).The 1-year and 5-year survival rates of this cohort were 82.3%and 70.6%,respectively,matching the mean overall survival rates of LTx patients at our center(87.1%and 69.43%,respectively)(P=0.83).CONCLUSION Survival after 1 and 5 years was similar to that of other LTx indications.The observed

A grain-size correction for metal pollution indexes in river sediments

According to the List of Hazardous Substances of the Agency of the Toxic Substances and Disease registry(ATSDr 2017), some metallic elements such as Pb or Cd are still considered as the most polluting elements in the world. These elements accumulate in sediments, and there are various methods available that differentiate lithogenic sources from anthropogenic sources. For that, the natural geochemical background is required, however, its definition is far from unanimous: it can be a global or local value,single or statistically estimated value, depending on the studies. Our study is focused on the Subae river in the state of Bahia, Northeastern Brazil, which was historically contaminated by lead metallurgy. The river sediments were sampled at 21 locations: one at the discharge point of the plant’s rainwater basin,ten upstream, and ten downstream. The total contents of Fe, Ti, Mn, Pb, Zn, Cu, Cr, particle-size distribution, and organic matter were analyzed. The conventional geochemical indexes, i.e., the pollution degree(m Cd), pollution load index, and enrichment factor indicated contamination by Zn, Pb, Cr, and Cu.Then, a new enrichment factor is introduced, assuming that the sediments come from erosion of soils in the watershed. After obtaining the natural concentrations of metals in the clay, silt, and sand fractions of uncontaminated reference soils, we corrected the pollution indexes by calculating a new individual background in each sediment sample, according to its grain size distribution. This new approach provided more precise indexes in the assessment of sediment pollution, by highlighting higher contamination of Zn and Pb(around 50%) and at the same time the absence of Cr and Cu contamination, two metals not involved with the metallurgical activity.
