several treatment options corresponding to the grade of keratoconus have been *** are ultra-violet corneal crosslinking and intracorneal ring segments for mild to moderate keratoconus,and penetrating keratoplasty or deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty for the more advanced cases of *** layer transplantation was developed as a procedure for patients with advanced,progressive *** technique consists of transplanting an isolated donor Bowman layer into a mid-stromal pocket of a keratoconic cornea resulting in corneal flattening and stabilization against further ***,it aims at corneal stabilization in eyes with advanced keratoconus,and enabling continued contact lens wear for normal visual *** being a sutureless procedure and using an acellular graft,it potentially avoids commonly known suture and graftrelated complications of penetrating or deep anterior lamellar *** treatment seems to be a promising option in the management of advanced keratoconus in order to postpone or prevent a more invasive corneal surgery,while minimizing the risk of complications and allowing less stringent surveillance and less intensive medical therapy.

he 2500km long Indus\|Tsangpo suture has been recognized as one of the best examples of continent to continent collisional suture Zone. It has come into existence as a result of subduction followed by continental collision (55～60Ma) between Indian (sinha, 1989, 1997; sinha et al., 1999) and Eurasian plates. While considering the recent palaeogeographic reconstruction of Pangea during late Palaeozoic it appears that a southern belt of Asian microcontinents stretching from Iran and Afghanistan through southern Tibet to western Thailand, Malaysia and sumatra, comprise several continental blocks and numerous fragments that have coalesced since the Mid\|Palaeozoic along with the closure of Tethys. The origin, migration, assembly and timing of accretion of all these blocks to their present geotectonic position is not well known and there is no Permo—Triassic crust left in the present day Indian Ocean. The oldest ocean crust adjacent to the west African and Antarctic margin is of early or middle Cretaceous age (approximately 140～100Ma) (searle, 1991). The Karakoram\|Hindukush microplate in the west and the Qiangtang\|Lhasa block in the central and eastern segment of south Asia margin are among those blocks already welded with Asian plates around 120～130Ma ago, before the collision of India (55～60Ma) with the collage of plates forming Peri\|Gondwanian microcontinents. But the reconstruction of palaeogeographic configuration remain incomplete due to paucity of authentic geologic information available from Karakoram, Pamir and Western Tibet. Prior to our discovery no early Permian plant remains and palynomorphs were ever reported from Karakoram terrane. Our discovery of Early Permian remains and late Asselian (about 280～275Ma) palynomorphs provides crucial clue regarding the palaeogeographic reconstruction of the Karakoram\|Himalayan block in the Permian time.

Treatments to repair the human heart following regenerative diseases remain a challenge for medical science. Unlike lower vertebrate species the human heart lacks a regenerative pathway meaning that research has to be focused on cell transplantation. Porcines (sus scrofa) are excellent models for cardiovascular disease and pluripotent stem cells (PsCs) generated from porcines will provide important clinical insights for cardiac cell therapy. This could open a new avenue of research into degenerative conditions as porcine is a more effective human proxy to work with. However, bona fide PsCs are currently available onlyin rodents (mouse, rat) and primates (monkey, human). Attempts to derivepluripotent stem cells (PsCs) from porcine have been going on for more than two decades with slow progress. Despite the fact that the porcine stem cells are under increasing glare of publicity due to milestone achievements in this area of research. Advances in stem cell technology, especially the genetic engineering, innovative cell culturing and induced pluripotency to generate stem cells has dramatically revolutionized the basic and applied investigations and applications of porcine stem cells. This review attempts to summarize the major signaling pathways involved in maintenance of pluripotency and the state of the art conceptual and technical progress for generating bona fide porcine PsCs.

During the early Paleogene,greenhouse gases created warm global *** warm climates redistributed the habitat of marine and terrestrial biota *** the ecology of biotas under extremely warm climates is important to decipher their behavior in future climate *** we report two new legume fossils(Leguminocarpum meghalayensis Bhatia,srivastava et Mehrotra ***.,and Parvileguminophyllum damalgiriensis Bhatia,srivastava et Mehrotra ***.) from the late Paleocene sediments of Tura Formation of Meghalaya,northeast ***,the Paleocene legume fossil records indicate that legumes most likely immigrated to India from Africa via the Ladakh-Kohistan Arc during the early ***,previously reconstructed climate data from the Tura Formation indicate that legumes were well adapted to a warm seasonal climate with monsoon rains.

Mizoram, a state situated in the northeast corner of India, is very rich in fossil woods belonging to the Tipam Group(Late Miocene-Early Pliocene in age). Four new fossil woods, namely swintonioxylon hailakandiense Prakash & Tripathi, Bombacacioxylon tertiarum Mehrotra et al., gen. et sp. nov., Dipterocarpoxylon jammuense Guleria et al. and Bischofia palaeojavanica Awasthi are described from there. They resemble the modern taxa, namely swintonia Griff.(Anacardiaceae), Dipterocarpus C.F. Gaertn.(Dipterocarpaceae), Bischofia Blume(Euphorbiaceae) and the taxa of the family Bombacaceae. The distribution of the modern equivalents of the present and previously described taxa indicates the existence of warm and humid climate in Mizoram during the depositional time.

Hamtah and Chhota shigri are two nearby,well monitored glaciers of western Himalaya,lying in the same climatic zone and driven by the same climatic *** this study,topographical characteristics of both the glacier have been explored to understand the role of topography in controlling the glacier ***,their topographical characteristics and possible response towards climatic variations have been compared with each other and also with that of the other glaciers in the basin to find out the suitability of these two glaciers to be considered as representative of the *** sensor and multi temporal remote sensing data have been used to carry out to fulfill the *** is found that being in the same climatic zone,the mean accumulation area ratio of Chhota shigri is 54%and Hamtah is 11%between 1980 and *** comparison to Hamtah,Chhota shigri glacier has a small upslope area,low compactness ratio indicating the ability of the glacier to receive direct precipitation and solar *** analysis revealed that the Chhota shigri glacier has a closer resemblance with the other glaciers in the region than Hamtah ***,the topographical settings of Chhota shigri glacier are suitable for recording and reflecting year-to-year climatic variations.

Himalayan glaciers‒the store house of fresh water outside the polar region contributes~45%of the total river flow by glacial melt in the Indus,Ganga and Brahmaputra watersheds which supports the livelihood of~500 million people[1].The sustainability of these rivers is being questioned because of the growing evidences of accelerated glacier retreat in the recent decades,which is expected to have cascading effects on the mountainous areas and their surrounding lowlands.
