We have developed aggregation-induced emission （AIE） dye loaded polymer nanoparticles with deep-red emission for siRNA delivery to pancreatic cancer cells. Two US Food and Drug Administration （FDA） approved surfactant polymers, Pluronics F127 and PEGylated phospholipid, were used to prepare the dye-loaded nanoparticle formulations and they can be used as nanovectors for gene silencing of mutant K-ras in pancreatic cancer cells. The successful transfection of siRNA by the developed nanovectors was confirmed by the fluorescent imaging and quantified through flow cytometry. Quantitative real time polymerase chain reaction （PCR） indicates that the expression of the mutant K-ras oncogene from the MiaPaCa-2 pancreatic cancer cells has been successfully suppressed. More importantly, our in vivo toxicity study has revealed that both the nanoparticle formulations are highly biocompatible in BALC/c mice. Overall, our results suggest that the AIE dye-loaded polymer nanoparticle formulations developed here are suitable for gene delivery and have high potential applications in translational medicine research.

BACKGROUND Tacrolimus(TAC)is metabolized primarily by the CYP3A-encoded enzyme family(CYP3A4,CYP3A5,and CYP3A7).Individuals expressing the CYP3A51 allele are considered fast metabolizers and generally require higher TAC doses to reach therapeutic *** To evaluate the predictive value of the TAC concentration-to-dose(C0/D)ratio for identifying CYP3A5 poly-morphisms in renal transplant *** Eighty-six de novo kidney transplant recipients with TAC-based immunosuppression from the Department of Nephrology and Dialysis at Military Hospital 103(Hanoi,Vietnam)were included in this retrospective *** samples were collected within the first week post-transplantation to monitor TAC levels and to perform genotyping for CYP3A5 genetic *** The CYP3A53/3 genotype was identified in 37 patients(43%),CYP3A51/3 in 40 patients(46.5%),and CYP3A51/1 in 9 patients(10.5%).Patients carrying the CYP3A51/3 or CYP3A51/1 genotype,classified as fast metabolizers(CYP3A5 expressers),had significantly lower TAC C0 concentrations and C0/D ratios compared to slow meta-bolizers(CYP3A53/3 genotype)at multiple time points during follow-up(all P<0.001).Notably,the TAC C0/D ratio obtained on day 1(0.91)was shown to predict CYP3A5 polymorphism with a sensitivity of 84.6%and a specificity of 84.6%.CONCLUSION This study demonstrates that the TAC C0/D ratio provides a reliable predictive value for CYP3A5 polymorphisms,which can be used to individualize TAC dosing in renal transplant recipients in Vietnam and other low-income countries.

Cost-effective CO_(2) adsorbents are gaining increasing attention as viable solutions for mitigating climate *** this study,composites were synthesized by electrochemically combining the post-gasification residue of Macadamia nut shell with copper benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxylate(CuBTC).Among the different composites synthesized,the ratio of 1:1 between biochar and CuBTC(B 1:1)demonstrated the highest CO_(2) adsorption *** controlled laboratory conditions(0°C,1 bar,without the influence of ambient moisture or CO_(2) diffusion limitations),B 1:1 achieved a CO_(2) adsorption capacity of 9.8 mmol/g,while under industrial-like conditions(25℃,1 bar,taking into account the impact of ambient moisture and CO_(2) diffusion limitations within a bed of adsorbent),it reached 6.2 mmol/*** values surpassed those reported for various advanced CO_(2) adsorbents investigated in previous *** superior performance of the B 1:1 composite can be attributed to the optimization of the number of active sites,porosity,and the preservation of the full physical and chemical surface properties of both ***,the composite exhibited a notable CO_(2)/N_(2) selectivity and improved stability under moisture *** favorable characteristics make B 1:1 a promising candidate for industrial applications.

Recent advancements in additive manufacturing(AM)have revolutionized the design and production of complex engineering *** these advancements,their mathematical modeling and computational analysis remain significant *** research aims to develop an effective computational method for analyzing the free vibration of functionally graded(FG)microplates under high temperatures while resting on a Pasternak foundation(PF).This formulation leverages a new thirdorder shear deformation theory(new TSDT)for improved accuracy without requiring shear correction ***,the modified couple stress theory(MCST)is incorporated to account for sizedependent effects in *** PF is characterized by two parameters including spring stiffness(k_(w))and shear layer stiffness(k_(s)).To validate the proposed method,the results obtained are compared with those of the existing ***,numerical examples explore the influence of various factors on the high-temperature free vibration of FG *** factors include the length scale parameter(l),geometric dimensions,material properties,and the presence of the elastic *** findings significantly enhance our comprehension of the free vibration of FG microplates in high thermal *** addition,the findings significantly enhance our comprehension of the free vibration of FG microplates in high thermal *** addition,the results of this research will have great potential in military and defense applications such as components of submarines,fighter aircraft,and missiles.

A new approach for predicting forming limit curves(FLCs)at elevated temperatures was proposed *** are often used to predict failure and determine the optimal forming parameters of automotive ***,a graphical method based on a modified maximum force criterion was applied to estimate the FLCs of 22MnB5 boron steel sheets at room temperature using various hardening ***,the predicted FLC data at room temperature were compared with corresponding data obtained from Nakazima's tests to obtain the best *** estimate the FLC at elevated temperatures,tensile tests were conducted at various temperatures to determine the ratios of equivalent fracture strains between the corresponding elevated temperatures and room *** at elevated temperatures could be established based on obtained ***,the predicted FLCs at elevated temperatures did not agree well with the corresponding FLC experimental data of Zhou et al.A new method was proposed herein to improve the prediction of FLCs at elevated *** FLC calculated at room tem-perature was utilized to predict the failure of Nakazima's samples via finite element *** on the simulation results at room temperature,the mathematical relationships between the equivalent ductile fracture strain versus stress triaxiality and strain ratio were established and then combined with ratios between elevated and room temperatures to calculate the FLCs at different *** predicted FLCs at elevated temperatures agree well with the corresponding experimental FLC data.

In this paper,we establish a new algorithm to the non-overlapping Schwarz domain decomposition methods with changing transmission conditions for solving one dimensional advection reaction diffusion *** precisely,we first describe the new algorithm and prove the convergence results under several natural assumptions on the sequences of parameters which determine the transmission *** we give a simple method to estimate the new value of parameters in each *** interesting advantage of our method is that one may update the better parameters in each iteration to save the computational cost for optimizing the parameters after many *** some numerical experiments are performed to show the behavior of the convergence rate for the new method.

In recent years,visual facial forgery has reached a level of sophistication that humans cannot identify fraud,which poses a significant threat to information security.A wide range of malicious applications have emerged,such as deepfake,fake news,defamation or blackmailing of celebrities,impersonation of politicians in political warfare,and the spreading of rumours to attract *** a result,a rich body of visual forensic techniques has been proposed in an attempt to stop this dangerous ***,there is no comprehensive,fair,and unified performance evaluation to enlighten the community on best performing *** authors present a systematic benchmark beyond traditional surveys that provides in-depth insights into facial forgery and facial forensics,grounding on robustness tests such as contrast,brightness,noise,resolution,missing information,and *** authors also provide a practical guideline of the benchmarking results,to determine the characteristics of the methods that serve as a comparative reference in this never-ending war between measures and *** authors’source code is open to the public.

A jumping mechanism can be an efficient mode of motion for small robots to overcome large obstacles on the ground and rough terrain. In this paper, we present a 7 g prototype of locust-inspired jumping mechanism that uses springs, wire, reduction gears, and a motor as the actuation components. The leg structure and muscles of a locust or grasshopper were mimicked using springs and wire, springs for passive extensor muscles, and a wire as a flexor muscle. A small motor was used to slowly charge the spring through a lever and gear system, and a cam with a special profile was used as a clicking mechanism for quick release of elastic energy stored in the springs to create a sudden kick for a quick jump. Performance analysis and experiments were conducted for comparison and performance estimation of the jumping mechanism prototype. Our prototype could produce standing jumps over obstacles that were about 14 times its own size （approximate to 71 cm） and a jumping distance of 20 times its own size （approximate to 100 cm）.

Polymer-based EOR methods in low-permeability reservoirs face injectivity issues and increased fracturing due to near wellbore plugging,as well as high-pressure gradients in these *** may cause pore blockage and undergo shear degradation and even oxidative degradation at high temperatures in the presence of very hard ***-tension gas(LTG) flooding has the potential to be applied successfully for low-permeability carbonate reservoirs even in the presence of high formation brine *** LTG flooding,the interfacial tension between oil and water is reduced to ultra-low values(10^-3 dyne/cm) by injecting an optimized surfactant formulation to maximize mobilization of residual oil ***(nitrogen,hydrocarbon gases or C02) is co-injected along with the surfactant slug to generate in situ foam which reduces the mobility ratio between the displaced(oil) and displacing phases,thus improving the displacement efficiency of the *** this work,the mechanism governing LTG flooding in low-permeability,high-salinity reservoirs was studied at a microscopic level using microemulsion properties and on a macroscopic scale by laboratory-scale coreflooding *** main injection parameters studied were injected slug salinity and the interrelation between surfactant concentration and injected foam quality,and how they influence oil mobilization and displacement *** assessment of the results was performed by studying oil recovery,oil fractional flow,oil bank breakthrough and effluent salinity and pressure drop characteristics.
