Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)is currently under a global pandemic *** efficiency of containment measures and epidemic tendency of typical countries should be *** this study,the efficiency of prevention and control measures in China,Italy,Iran,South Korea,and Japan was assessed,and the COVID-19 epidemic tendency among these countries was *** showed that the effective reproduction number(Re)in Wuhan,China increased almost exponentially,reaching a maximum of 3.98 before a lockdown and rapidly decreased to below 1 due to containment and mitigation strategies of the Chinese *** Re in Italy declined at a slower pace than that in China after the implementation of prevention and control *** Re in Iran showed a certain decline after the establishment of a national epidemic control command,and an evident stationary phase occurred because the best window period for the prevention and control of the epidemic was *** epidemic in Japan and South Korea reoccurred several times with the Re fluctuating *** epidemic has hardly rebounded in China due to the implementation of prevention and control strategies and the effective enforcement of *** countries suffering from the epidemic could learn from the Chinese experience in containing COVID-19.

Obtaining clean energy is of prime importance for planetary health and sustainable *** aimed to assess the association between residential energy transition and the risk of chronic respiratory *** data from the Global Health Observatory and Global Burden of Diseases,Injuries,and Risk Factors Study,we delineated the spatial distribution and temporal trends of the population using clean fuels for cooking at a global *** the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study,we performed rigorous and well-structured multistage analyses incorporating both cross-sectional and prospective data analyses to examine the associations between solid fuel use,residential energy transition,duration of solid fuel use,and the risk of chronic respiratory *** great progress,huge disparities in access to clean energy persist *** energy transition was associated with a lower risk of chronic respiratory *** the period of 2011–2013,compared with persistent solid fuel users,both participants who switched from solid to clean fuels(adjusted risk ratio[RR]0.78,95%confidence interval[CI]0.62–0.98)and persistent clean fuel users(adjusted RR 0.71,95%CI 0.57–0.89)had significantly lower risk of chronic respiratory diseases(p<0.001 for trend).Consistent associations were observed in the period of 2011–2015 and 2011–*** energy transition from solid to clean fuels could reduce the risk of chronic respiratory *** is a valuable lesson for policy-makers and the general public to accelerate energy switching to alleviate the burden of chronic respiratory diseases and achieve health benefits,particularly in low-and middle-income countries.

Helium transport through nanoscale inorganic mineral pores and pore throats is essential for its overall *** elucidate helium's transport dynamics within nanopores,we employed equilibrium and non-equilibrium molecular dynamics simulations to investigate helium's static self-diffusion and pressure-driven flow in quartz slit-shaped *** also introduced water and various gases,including hydrogen,methane,ethane,nitrogen,and carbon dioxide,into the nanopores to assess their influence on helium *** findings indicate minimal helium adsorption on quartz pore *** conditions where the pore size is less than 5 nm and the pressure under 10 MPa,environmental factors markedly influence helium *** pore sizes,high temperatures,and low gas pressures enhance helium desorption and facilitate faster *** observed a positive correlation between helium flow velocity and factors such as pore size,pressure gradient,and surface smoothness of the ***,the presence of pore water and carrier gases in quartz nanopores,which diffuse more slowly than helium,tends to reduce helium surface adsorption and slow its *** the carrier gases studied,nitrogen showed similar adsorption capacity,diffusivity,and stability to helium,while carbon dioxide displayed the highest adsorption capacity and the slowest diffusion rate,markedly differing from *** on the simulation results,we concluded that water and carrier gases primarily function as transport mediums in helium migration,moving together with ***,which shares similar properties with helium,effectively assists in this co-migration ***,carbon dioxide,due to its high adsorption capacity and slow diffusion,tends to be lost during *** a result,gas reservoirs with high nitrogen levels and low carbon dioxide levels are more likely to have higher helium ***,the smaller pore sizes and higher gas pressures in caproc

Dear Editor,This letter proposes a deep synchronization control(DSC) method to synchronize grid-forming converters with power grids. The method involves constructing a novel controller for grid-forming converters based on the stable deep dynamics model. To enhance the performance of the controller, the dynamics model is optimized within the deep reinforcement learning(DRL) framework. Simulation results verify that the proposed method can reduce frequency deviation and improve active power responses.

Previous studies have often focused on monitoring grassland growth as the primary target of remote sensing investigations on grassland ecological restoration in the northern Tibetan Plateau,overlooking the crucial role played by gravel in the ecological restoration of these *** study utilizes supervised classification and segmentation techniques based on machine learning to extract gravel morphology profiles from field-sampled plot images and calculate their characteristic *** a multivariate linear approach combined with Principal Component Analysis(PCA),a model for inferring gravel characteristic parameters is *** features,particle size characteristics,and spatial distribution patterns of gravel are *** reveal that gravel predominantly exhibit sub-rounded shapes,with 80%classified as fine *** coefficients of determination(R2)between gravel particle size and coverage,perimeter,and area are 0.444,0.724,and 0.557,respectively,indicating linear *** cumulative contribution rate of the top five remote sensing factors is 95.44%,with the first geological factor contributing 77.64%,collectively reflecting the primary information of the 20 factors *** shows that areas with larger gravel particle sizes correspond to increased perimeter and *** in the Nagqu Prefecture of northern Tibet have a particle size range of 4-8 mm,primarily comprising fine gravel which accounts for 94.61%.These findings provide a scientific basis for extracting gravel characteristic parameters and understanding their spatial distribution variations in the northern Tibetan Plateau.

To enhance the high-temperature oxidation resistance and mechanical properties of a secondgeneration nickel-based superalloy,various concentrations of lanthanum(La)ranging from 5.0×10^(-5)wt.%to 3.4×10^(-4)wt.%are added to the *** microstructure of the nickel-based single crystal superalloy with trace of La was examined by means of SEM,EDS and *** show the addition of La decreases the segregation of elements and increases the amount ofγ/γ′eutectics of the as-cast alloy,and in the interdendritic region,the growth of eutectics is accompanied by the growth of strip clusters composed of Ni_(5)La and Ni_(3)*** the La content in the alloy increases,the proportion of Ni_(5)La in the cluster *** heat treatment,incipient melting occurs in the cluster regions,leading to an increase in microporosity compared to the original as-cast ***,the heat treatment alters the shape of the clusters from a strip morphology to an elliptical one,and it changes their composition from Ni_(5)La and Ni_(3)Ta to a combination of Ni_(5)La,Ni_(3)Ta,and MC carbides.

Nowadays,it is still a challenge to prepared high efficiency and low cost formaldehyde(HCHO)removal catalysts in order to tackle the long-living indoor air ***,δ-MnO_(2)is successfully synthesized by a facile ozonation strategy,where Mn^(2+)is oxidized by ozone(O_(3))bubble in an alkaline *** presents one of the best catalytic properties with a low 100%conversion temperature of 85℃for 50 ppm of HCHO under a GHSV of 48,000 mL/(g·hr).As a comparison,more than 6 times far longer oxidation time is needed if O3 is replaced by O_(2).Characterizations show that ozonation process generates a different intermediate of tetragonalβ-HMnO_(2),which would favor the quick transformation into the final productδ-MnO_(2),as compared with the relatively more thermodynamically stable monoclinicγ-HMnO_(2)in the O_(2)***,HCHO is found to be decomposed into CO_(2)via formate,dioxymethylene and carbonate species as identified by room temperature insitu diffuse reflectance infrared fourier transform *** these results show great potency of this facile ozonation routine for the highly activeδ-MnO_(2)synthesis in order to remove the HCHO contamination.

The fractional shortcut to adiabaticity(f-STA)for the production of quantum superposition states is proposed firstly via a three-level system with aΛ-type linkage pattern and a four-level system with a tripod *** fast and robust production of the coherent superposition states is studied by comparing the populations for the f-STA and the fractional stimulated Raman adiabatic passage(f-STIRAP).The states with equal proportions can be produced by fixing the controllable parameters of the driving pulses at the final moment of the whole *** effects of the pulse intensity and the time delay of the pulses on the production process are discussed by monitoring the populations on all of the quantum *** particular,the spontaneous emission arising from the intermediate state is investigated by the quantum master *** result reveals that the f-STA exhibits superior advantages over the f-STIRAP in producing the superposition states.
