Benefiting from the superior optoelectronic properties and low-cost manufacturing techniques,mixedhalide wide bandgap(WBG)perovskite solar cells(PSCs)are currently considered as ideal top cells for fabricating multi-junction or tandem solar cells,which are designed to beyond the Shockley-Queisser(S-Q)limit of single-junction solar ***,the poor long-term operational stability of WBG PSCs limits their further employment and hinders the marketization of multi-junction or tandem solar *** this review,recent progresses on improving environmental stability of mixed-halide WBG PSCs through different strategies,including compositional engineering,additive engineering,interface engineering,and other strategies,are ***,the outlook and potential direction are discussed and explored to promote the further development of WBG PSCs and their applications in multijunction or tandem solar cells.

A bZIP transcription factor(CiFD) regulates drought-and low-temperature-induced flowering by alternative splicing in citrus

Drought and low temperature are two key environmental factors that induce adult citrus flowering. However, the underlying regulation mechanism is poorly understood. The bZIP transcription factor FD is a key component of the florigen activation complex(FAC) which is composed of FLOWERING LOCUS T(FT), FD, and 14-3-3 proteins. In this study, isolation and characterization of CiFD in citrus found that there was alternative splicing(AS) of CiFD, forming two different proteins(CiFDα and CiFDβ). Further investigation found that their expression patterns were similar in different tissues of citrus, but the subcellular localization and transcriptional activity were different. Overexpression of the CiFD DNA sequence(CiFD-DNA), CiFDα, or CiFDβ in tobacco and citrus showed early flowering, and CiFD-DNA transgenic plants were the earliest, followed by CiFDβ and CiFDα. Interestingly, CiFDα and CiFDβ were induced by low temperature and drought, respectively. Further analysis showed that CiFDαcan form a FAC complex with CiFT, Ci14-3-3, and then bind to the citrus APETALA1(CiAP1) promoter and promote its expression. However,CiFDβ can directly bind to the CiAP1 promoter independently of CiFT and Ci14-3-3. These results showed that CiFDβ can form a more direct and simplified pathway that is independent of the FAC complex to regulate drought-induced flowering through AS. In addition, a b HLH transcription factor(CibHLH96) binds to CiFD promoter and promotes the expression of CiFD under drought condition. Transgenic analysis found that CibHLH96 can promote flowering in transgenic tobacco. These results suggest that CiFD is involved in drought-and low-temperature-induced citrus flowering through different regulatory patterns.

Pod shattering is an important domesticated trait which can cause great economic loss of crop yield in cultivated *** this study,we utilized two recombinant inbred line populations(RILs,CY,Huachun 2×Wayao;GB,Guizao 1×B13)to identify quantitative trait loci(QTLs)associated with pod shattering in soybean across multiple environments.A total of 14 QTLs for pod shattering were identified in the two RIL populations,which had LOD scores ranging from 2.64 to 44.33 with phenotypic variance explanation(PVE)ranging from 1.33 to 50.85%.One QTL qPS16-1,located on chromosome 16,included a well-known functional gene Pod dehiscence 1(Pdh1)that was reported *** new putative QTLs were validated in two RIL populations,and their LOD scores were between 2.55 and 4.24,explaining 1.33 to 2.60%of the phenotypic *** which four novel QTLs(qPS01-1,qPS03-2,qPS05-1,and qPS07-1)could be detected in two environments where nine genes had specific changes in gene *** the nine genes may have significant effects on pod shattering of soybean,their detailed functions still need to be further explored in the *** results of this study will facilitate a better understanding of the genetic basis of the pod shattering-resistant trait and benefit soybean molecular breeding for improving pod shattering resistance.

A New Furostanol Saponin from Dioscorea futshauensis

A new furostanol saponin presenting moderate bioactivity of inducing morphological deformation of Pyricularia oryzae mycelia was isolated from Dioscorea futshauensis *** by bioactivity-guided fractionation. The structure was established as 26-O-b-D-glucopyranosyl-3b, 26-diol-23(S)-methoxyl-(25R)-furost-5,20 (22)-diene-3-O-[a-L-rhamnopyranosyl (12)-b-D- glucopyranosyl (13)]-b-D-glucopyranoside on the basis of chemical evidencesand spectral analysis, especially by 2D-NMR techniques.

Spleen-Yang-deficiency patients with polycystic ovary syndrome have higher levels of visfatin

OBJECTIVE:To study serum visfatin levels in women with polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS)grouped by Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)*** study the correlations of serum visfatin levels with homeostatic model assessment insulin resistance(HOMA-IR),fasting plasma glucose(FPG),fasting insulin(FINS),body mass index(BMI),testosterone(T),total cholesterol(TC),and triglycerides(TG).METHODS:Two hundred and twelve PCOS patients were placed into the following TCM pattern subgroups:Kidney-Yang deficiency(KYD)group,Spleen-Yang deficiency(SYD)group,stagnant Liver-Qi transforming into heat(SLQTH)group,and Kidney-Yin deficiency(KYIND)*** correlations between serum visfatin levels and HOMA-IR,FPG,FINS,BMI,T,TC,andTG were ***:Of all patients with PCOS,there were 82in the KYD group(38.6%),67 in the SYD group(31.6%),37 in the SLQTH group(17.5%),and 26 in the KYIND group(12.3%).Visfatin levels in all PCOS subgroups were higher than those in the control group(P0.05).The SYD group had higher levels of FINS and HOMA-IR compared with the KYD,SLQTH,and KYIND groups(P<0.05).In all subgroups,after controlling for BMI,TG,TC,and age,visfatin was positively correlated with FINS(r=0.197,P=0.015)and HOMA-IR(r=0.173,P=0.033),and was not correlated with ***:KYD and SYD patterns are most common in PCOS *** visfatin is a common pathophysiologic manifestation in PCOS *** SYD group had the highest levels of visfatin,and visfatin was positively correlated with FINS and HOMA-IR.

Chchd10 is dispensable for myogenesis but critical for adipose browning

The Chchd10 gene encodes a coiled-coil-helix-coiled-coil-helix-domain containing protein predicted to function in the mitochondrion and *** of Chchd10 are associated with ALS,dementia and myopathy in humans and animal models,but how knockout of Chchd10(Chchd10KO)affects various tissues especially skeletal muscle and adipose tissues remains *** we show that Chchd10 expression increases as myoblasts and preadipocytes *** myogenesis,CHCHD10 interacts with TAR DNA binding protein 43(TDP-43)in regenerating myofib-ers in vivo and in newly differentiated myotubes ex ***,Chchd10KO mice had normal skeletal muscle development,growth and regeneration,with moderate defects in grip strength and motor ***10KO similarly had no effects on development of brown and white adipose tissues(WAT).However,Chchd10KO mice had blunted response to acute cold and attenuated cold-induced browning of WAT,with markedly reduced UCP1 ***,these results demonstrate that Chchd10 is dispensable for normal myogenesis and adipogenesis but is required for normal motility and cold-induced,mitochondrion-dependent browning of *** data also sug-gest that human CHCHD10 mutations cause myopathy through a gain-of-function mechanism.

Effects of low ambient temperatures and dietary vitamin C supplementation on pulmonary vascular remodeling and hypoxic gene expression of 21-d-old broilers

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of low ambient temperature （LAT） and dietary vitamin C （VC） sup- plementation on pulmonary vascular remodeling （PVR） and the relative expression of hypoxia inducible factor-la （HIF-la）, vascular endothelial growth factor （VEGF） and its receptor 2 （VEGFR-2） mRNA of lungs in 21-d-old broilers. 400 1-d-old male Cobb broilers were assigned randomly to 4 treatments as follows for 21 d： 1 ） LAT and a basal diet; 2） LAT and a basal diet supplemented with 1 000 mg kg-1 VC （LAT＋VC）; 3） normal ambient temperature （NAT） and a basal diet; 4） NAT and a basal diet supplemented with 1 000 mg kg-1 VC （NAT＋VC）. Each treatment was composed of 10 replicates of 10 birds per replicate. Samples of lung were collected after the broilers were killed at d 21. LAT increased the ratio of vessel wall area to vessel total area （WA/TA, %） and mean media thickness in pulmonary arterioles （mMTPA, %）（P〈0.05）. Dietary VC supplementation decreased mMTPA （P〈0.05）, but had no effect on the WA/TA. LAT increased （P〈0.05） the relative mRNA expression of HIF-la, VEGF and VEGFR-2, while adding VC to the diet could decrease （P〈0.05） their relative mRNA expression. A significant positive correlation existed between the level of VEGF mRNA expression and the value of WA/WT （P〈0.05） or mMTPA （P〈0.05）. These results suggested LAT resulted in pulmonary vascular remodeling, and the increase of HIF-la, VEGF and VEGFR-2 mRNA expression, and dietary VC supplementation can alleviate pulmonary vascular remodeling in broiler by affecting these gene expression.
