Assessment of climate damage in China based on integrated assessment framework

Developing a localized and consistent model framework for climate loss and damage assessment is crucial for the policy-making of climate change mitigation and *** study introduces a comprehensive,multidisciplinary Integrated Assessment Model(IAM)framework for evaluating climate damage in China,utilizing BCC-SESM climate model and FUND sectoral climate damage model under the SSP2-RCPs *** a bottom-up approach,the research estimates climate damage across eight major sectors,recalibrates sectoral climate damage functions and parameters for China,and elucidates distinctions among direct climate loss,market climate loss,and aggregate climate *** findings reveal that the total climate damage function for China follows a quadratic pattern in response to temperature *** 2050,the estimated climate damage is projected to be 5.4%,5.7%,and 8.2%of GDP under RCP2.6,RCP4.5,and RCP8.5,***,both direct and market climate losses are projected to remain below 2%of GDP by 2050,while the aggregate climate loss could reach as high as 8.2%,which is predominantly attributed to non-market *** a sectoral perspective,under the RCP8.5 scenario,human health damage constitutes the largest share(61.9%)of the total climate loss by 2050,followed by sea-level rise damage(18.6%).This study sheds lights on the adaptation policy that should attach importance to the non-market sectors,particularly focusing on human health and sea-level rise.

An Investigation into the Issues Concerning the Copyright of Content Generated by Text-to-Video AI

Text-to-video artificial intelligence(AI)is a new product that has arisen from the continuous development of digital technology over recent *** emergence of various text-to-video AI models,including Sora,is driving the proliferation of content generated through concrete ***,the content generated by text-to-video AI raises significant issues such as unclear work identification,ambiguous copyright ownership,and widespread copyright *** issues can hinder the development of text-to-video AI in the creative fields and impede the prosperity of China’s social and cultural ***,this paper proposes three recommendations within a legal framework:(a)categorizing the content generated by text-to-video AI as audiovisual works;(b)clarifying the copyright ownership model for text-to-video AI works;(c)reasonably delineating the responsibilities of the parties who are involved in the text-to-video AI *** aim is to mitigate the copyright risks associated with content generated by text-to-video AI and to promote the healthy development of text-to-video AI in the creative fields.

Current climate forecasting has advanced to the stage of investigating mesoscale air-sea interactions. Recent studies have identified significant structural differences between the cores and edges of mesoscale eddies;however, the effects of these structural variations on air-sea fluxes and the Marine Atmospheric Boundary Layer(MABL) remain underexplored. Traditional observations often fail to capture the detailed structures of eddies, necessitating enhanced observations at high spatiotemporal resolution for mesoscale eddies. To address this, efforts have been made to develop multi-agent platforms and expendable air-sea interface observation technologies. A task-oriented observation scheme was developed to monitor the spatial characteristics of mesoscale eddies. The South China Sea(SCS) is rich in mesoscale eddies with rapid motion changes, requiring enhanced observations of the air-sea interface using multi-agent mobile networking. An anticyclonic eddy was observed in the eastern region of the Xisha Islands in the SCS, and we examined variations in air-sea fluxes across different regions within the eddy.
