Photocatalytic reduction of CO_(2) into fuel represents a promising approach for achieving carbon neutrality,while realizing high selectivity in this process is challenging due to uncontrollable reaction intermediate and retarded desorption of target products.Engineering the interface microenvironment of catalysts has been proposed as a strategy to exert a significant influence on reaction outcomes,yet it remains a significant challenge.In this study,amino alkylation was successfully integrated into the melem unit of polymeric carbon nitrides(PCN),which could efficiently drive the photocatalytic CO_(2) reduction.Experimental characterization and theoretical calculations revealed that the introduction of amino alkylation lowers the energy barrier for CO_(2) reduction into^(*)COOH intermediate,transforming the adsorption of^(*)COOH intermediate from the endothermic to an exothermic process.Notably,the as-prepared materials demonstrated outstanding performance in photocatalytic CO_(2) reduction,yielding CO_(2)at a rate of 152.8μmol h^(-1) with a high selectivity of 95.4%and a quantum efficiency of 6.6%.

中国落叶栎林群落结构特征及气候和人类活动的影响

落叶栎林是中国温带地区和亚热带山地典型的植被类型之一。虽然已有大量关于中国落叶栎林的群落结构特征研究,但以往研究多局限于局域尺度或单个类群,而在国家尺度上的系统性研究较为缺乏。本文采用统一的调查方法获取682个天然落叶栎林样方数据,基于此数据分析了我国落叶栎林的群落结构特征及其空间格局,探究了影响其特征的气候和人为因素。研究结果表明,中国落叶栎林乔木层的平均胸径、平均树高、平均林分密度和平均总胸高断面积分别为:13.7 cm、10.0 m、1468株/ha和24.3 m^(2)/ha。落叶栎林乔木层、灌木层和草本层的平均物种丰富度分别为:6种/600 m^(2)、10种/100 m^(2)和4种/1 m^(2)。随纬度的升高,落叶栎林平均树高、林分密度、总胸高断面积、乔木层物种丰富度和灌木层物种丰富度均呈现显著降低趋势,林分平均胸径无显著变化,而草本层物种丰富度呈现显著增加趋势。进一步分析发现,相比于林分密度和草本层物种丰富度,气候和人类活动可以更多地解释平均胸径、平均树高、总胸高断面积、乔木层物种丰富度和灌木层物种丰富度的空间分异。此外,与降水相关的气候因子在塑造群落结构特征的空间格局方面起着更为重要的作用。总之,本研究为认识中国落叶栎林群落结构特征的生物地理格局及其对全球变化的响应提供了基础。

Insight into the mechanism of the arylation of arenes via norbornene relay palladation through meta-to para-selectivity

A novel mechanism of the arylation of arenes via norbornene(NBE)relay palladation through meta-to para-selectivity was revealed via density functional theory(DFT)calculations.Our calculated results revealed that the reaction was initiated by a[mono-N-protected amino acid ligand(MPAA)–Pd]complex to activate at first the meta-C–H guided by the directing group(DG),and para-arylation was subsequently achieved by NBE relay palladation from meta-to para-position.Significantly,the palladium/norbornene(Pd/NBE)cooperative catalysis was catalyzed by a Pd–Ag bimetallic complex,which accounted for the experimental fact that no yield detected without Ag.The reaction pathway through para-to meta-selectivity was also investigated,while this pathway was kinetically unfavorable.The results revealed that the initial DG guided C–H site activation was the rate-determining step and played an important role in determining site-selectivity.The primary meta-activation was favorable in energy due to the less ring strain in the cyclic nitrile-coordinated C–H transition states in the meta position.Moreover,the perfect cooperation of a remote directing template and a transient mediator NBE through the alternating association with the Pd center achieved the relay through meta-to para-position.The present results provide a reasonable insight into the para-C–H arylation by the Pd/MPAA/NBE cooperative catalysis in conjunction with a precise DG and Ag(I)additive.

Shenfu injection attenuates lipopolysaccharide-induced myocardial inflammation and apoptosis in rats

Shenfu injection(SFI), a Chinese medicinal product, shows potent efficacy in treating sepsis. The aim of the present study was to clarify the protective effects of SFI against lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced myocardial inflammation and apoptosis.Experiments were carried out in Sprague-Dawley(SD) rats treated with LPS or LPS + SFI, and in H9 C2 cardiomyocytes. The sepsisassociated myocardial inflammation and apoptosis was induced by the intraperitoneal injection of LPS(20 mg·kg–1). SFI attenuated the increased expression of tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α and interleukin(IL)-1β induced by LPS both in serum and heart. In LPS group,cell viability was reduced, and reversed after SFI administration. LPS treatment increased the expression levels of cleaved-caspase 3 and Bax, and those of Bcl2 and Bcl2/Bax. These two trends were reversed by SFI administration. The expression levels of phosphorylated mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase(p-MEK) and phosphorylated extracellular regulated protein kinases(p-ERK) were increased by LPS, and reversed by SFI. MEK inhibitor U0126 attenuated the apoptosis induced by LPS. These results indicate that SFI could treat LPS-induced cardiac dysfunction. In conclusion, SFI attenuates the inflammation and apoptosis induced by LPS via downregulating the MEK and ERK signaling pathways.

An interpretation of the genetic polymorphism and population genetic background of Ankang Han population via a novel InDel panel

In this research,genotyping data of 43 InDel loci in 311 Han individuals in Ankang City,Shaanxi Province,China were detected using a self-developed five-dye multiplex amplification panel.The allelic frequencies and forensic parameters of all InDel loci were calculated.The combined power of discrimination and probability of exclusion values were 0.99999999999999999882739 and 0.999887424,respectively,which demonstrated that this 43-InDel panel was powerful for individual identifications in Ankang Han population.Moreover,genetic distances,pairwise F_(ST)values,principal component analyses,phylogenetic trees and STRUCTURE analyses were performed to investigate the genetic affinities between Ankang Han and reference groups.Population genetic investigations indicated that Ankang Han population had a close genetic relationship with Southern Han population compared with other reference groups.

Effect of intravariceal sclerotherapy combined with esophageal mucosal sclerotherapy using small-volume sclerosant for cirrhotic patients with high variceal pressure

AIM:To explore the effect of intravariceal-mucosal sclerotherapy using small dose of sclerosant on the recurrence of esophageal varices.METHODS:We randomly assigned 38 cirrhotic patients with previous variceal bleeding and high variceal pressure(> 15.2 mm Hg) to receive endoscopic variceal ligation(EVL) and combined intravariceal and esophageal mucosal sclerotherapy(combined group) using small-volume sclerosant.The end-points of the study were rebleeding and recurrence of esophageal varices.RESULTS:During a median follow-up period of 16 mo,varices recurred in 1 patient in the combined group as compared with 7 patients in the EVL group(P =0.045).Rebleeding occurred in 3 patients in the EVL group as compared with 1 patient in the combined group(P=0.687).No patient died in the two groups.No significant differences were observed between the two groups with respect to serious adverse events.CONCLUSION:Intravariceal-mucosal sclerotherapy using small dose of sclerosant is more effective than EVL in decreasing the incidence of variceal recurrence for cirrhotic patients.

Objective Diminished ovarian reserve(DOR)can lead to early menopause,poor fecundity,and an increased risk of disorders such as osteoporosis,cardiovascular disease,and cognitive impairment,seriously affecting the physical and mental health of women.There is still no safe and effective strategy or method to combat DOR.We have developed a novel Chinese herbal formula,Tongji anti-ovarian aging 101(TJAOA101),to treat DOR.However,its safety and efficacy need to be further validated.Methods In this prospective and pre-post clinical trial,100 eligible patients aged 18–45 diagnosed with DOR will be recruited.All participants receive TJAOA101 twice a day for 3 months.Then,comparisons before and after treatment will be analyzed,and the outcomes,including anti-mullerian hormone(AMH)and follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH)levels and the antral follicle count(AFC),the recovery rate of menopause,and the Kupperman index(KMI),will be assessed at baseline,every month during medication(the intervention period),and 1,3 months after medication(the follow-up period).Assessments for adverse events will be performed during the intervention and follow-up periods.Conclusion A multicenter,prospective study will be conducted to further confirm the safety and efficacy of TJAOA101 in treating DOR and to provide new therapeutic strategies for improving the quality of life in DOR patients.

Neoantigen vaccine:An emerging immunotherapy for hepatocellular carcinoma

Tumor-specific neoantigens,which are expressed on tumor cells,can induce an effective antitumor cytotoxic T-cell response and mediate tumor regression.Among tumor immunotherapies,neoantigen vaccines are in early human clinical trials and have demonstrated substantial efficiency.Compared with more neoantigens in melanoma,the paucity and inefficient identification of effective neoantigens in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)remain enormous challenges in effectively treating this malignancy.In this review,we highlight the current development of HCC neoantigens in its generation,screening,and identification.We also discuss the possibility that there are more effective neoantigens in hepatitis B virus(HBV)-related HCC than in non-HBV-related HCC.In addition,since HCC is an immunosuppressive tumor,strategies that reverse immunosuppression and enhance the immune response should be considered for the practical exploitation of HCC neoantigens.In summary,this review offers some strategies to solve existing problems in HCC neoantigen research and provide further insights for immunotherapy.

Papillary thyroid carcinoma occurring with undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma: A case report

BACKGROUND Papillary thyroid cancer(PTC)is the most common malignant tumor of the thyroid.However,the coexistence of PTC and sarcoma in one patient is rare.In this article,we report the case of a patient who presented with both PTC and undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma(UPS),which has not been previously reported in the online Medline database(PubMed).CASE SUMMARY A 71-year-old man was admitted to our hospital for a mass on the right side of his neck for one month,which rapidly enlarged within 2 wk with distending pain.The patient was diagnosed with a thyroid malignancy by fine-needle aspiration and underwent total thyroidectomy and bilateral central lymph node dissection.Histology and immunohistochemistry revealed features of both PTC and UPS.The thyroid cancer 8 gene detection kit results showed BRAF and telomerase reverse transcriptase mutations.The disease progressed rapidly,and the patient died four months after surgery from extensive lung metastasis.CONCLUSION Our report highlights the patient’s pathological characteristics and related genetic mutations.Due to the rapid development and poor prognosis of cooccurring PTC and sarcoma,it is important for clinical physicians and pathologists to raise awareness of this type of tumor.

Hypoxia promotes pulmonary vascular remodeling via HIF-1α to regulate mitochondrial dynamics

Background Increasing research suggests that mitochondrial defect plays a major role in pulmonary hypertension(PH) pathogenesis. Mitochondrial dynamics and quality control have a central role in the maintenance of the cell proliferation and apoptosis balance. However, the molecular mechanism underlying of this balance is still unknown. Methods To clarify the biological effects of hypoxic air exposure and hypoxia-inducible factor-1α(HIF-1α) on pulmonary arterial smooth muscle cell(PASMC) and pulmonary arterial hypertension rats, the cells were cultured in a hypoxic chamber under oxygen concentrations. Cell viability, reactive oxygen species level, cell death, mitochondrial morphology, mitochondrial membrane potential, mitochondrial function and mitochondrial biosynthesis, as well as fission-and fusion-related proteins, were measured under hypoxic conditions. In addition, rats were maintained under hypoxic conditions, and the right ventricular systolic pressure, right ventricular hypertrophy index and right ventricular weight/body weight ratio were examined and recorded. Further, we assessed the role of HIF-1α in the development and progression of PH using HIF-1α gene knockdown using small interfering RNA transfection. Mdivi-1 treatment was performed before hypoxia to inhibit dynamin-related protein 1(Drp1). Results We found that HIF-1α expression was increased during hypoxia, which was crucial for hypoxia-induced mitochondrial dysfunction and hypoxia-stimulated PASMCs proliferation and apoptosis. We also found that targeting mitochondrial fission Drp1 by mitochondrial division inhibitor Mdivi-1 was effective in PH model rats. The results showed that mitochondrial dynamics were involved in the pulmonary vascular remodeling under hypoxia in vivo and in vitro. Furthermore, HIF-1α also modulated mitochondrial dynamics in pulmonary vascular remodeling under hypoxia through directly regulating the expression of Drp1.
