Over the past few decades,supramolecular chemistry has entered the field of scientific research and attracted extensive attention.Among supramolecular macrocycles,cyclodextrins(CDs)are widely applied in the field of adsorption due to their unique structure and properties.This review focuses on the important role of cyclodextrin polymers(CDPs)as adsorbents in the adsorption of different substances.It covers the category of CDPs adsorbents(including crosslinked CDPs,grafted CDPs,CD-based polyrotaxanes/pseudopolyrotaxanes,and imprinted CDPs),their adsorption mechanism and applications in the adsorption of inorganic metal ions,organic pollutants,and biomacromolecules.Finally,the challenges and future perspectives in relative research fields are discussed.

The analysis of endogenous glycoproteins and glycopeptides in human body fluids is of great importance for screening and discovering disease biomarkers with clinical significance.However,the presence of interfering substances makes the direct quantitative detection of low-abundance glycoproteins and glycopeptides in human body fluids one of the great challenges in analytical chemistry.Magnetic solid phase extraction(MSPE)has the advantages of easy preparation,low cost and good magnetic responsiveness.Magnetic adsorbents are the core of MSPE technology,and magnetic adsorbents based on different functional materials are widely used in the quantitative analysis of glycoproteins and glycopeptides in human body fluids,making it possible to analyze glycoproteins and glycopeptides with low abundance as well as multiple types,which provides a technical platform for screening and evaluating glycoproteins and glycopeptides in body fluids as disease biomarkers.In this paper,we focus on the recent advances in the application of MSPE technology and magnetic adsorbents for the separation and enrichment of glycoproteins and glycopeptides in human body fluids,and the future trends and application prospects in this field are also presented.

Facile fabrication of CeF_(3)/g-C_(3)N_(4) heterojunction photocatalysts with upconversion properties for enhanced photocatalytic desulfurization performance

Cerium fluoride(CeF_(3))semiconductor with upconversion property was constructed on graphite carbonitride(g-C_(3) N_(4))nanosheets by microwave hydrothermal method.The X-ray diffraction,transmission election microscopy,Fourier transform infrared,and X-ray photoelectron spectra techniques were used to characterize the CeF_(3)/g-C_(3)N_(4) nanocomposite.The study shows that CeF_(3) has upconversion property and can convert visible light(Vis)and near-infrared light(NIR)into ultraviolet light(UV).Mo reover,CeF3 and g-C_(3) N_(4) can form well-defined heterojunction and promote the effective separation of photogenerated electrons and holes.The synergistic effect of the CeF_(3)/g-C_(3)N_(4) nanocomposite was evaluated by photocatalytic degradation of dibenzothiophene(DBT).The optimum photocatalyst of CeF_(3)/g-C_(3)N_(4)(40 wt%)composites exhibit the highest photocatalytic desulfurization rate of the model oil under visible light radiation.

Effective coverage and protection is a priority in wound treatment.Collagen and chitosan have been widely used for wound dressings due to their excellent biological activity and biocompatibility.Silver nanoparticles(AgNPs)have a powerful antibacterial effect.In this study,a macromolecular and small-molecular collagen mixed solution,a macromolecular and small-molecular chitosan mixed solution were prepared,and a silver nanoparticle-loaded collagen-chitosan dressing(AgNPCCD)has been proposed.First,the effects of a collagen-chitosan mixed solution on the proliferation of human umbilical vein endothelial cells and the secretion of cytokines were evaluated.Then,the characteristics and antibacterial effects of the AgNP-CCD were tested,and the effects on wound healing and the influence of wound cytokine expression were investigated via a deep second-degree burn wound model.The results showed that at the proper proportion and concentration,the collagen-chitosan mixed solution effectively promoted cell proliferation and regulated the levels of growth factors(vascular endothelial growth factor[VEGF],epidermal growth factor[EGF],plateletderived growth factor[PDGF],transforming growth factor[TGF-b1],basic fibroblastic growth factor[bFGF])and inflammatory factors(TNF-α,IL-1β,IL-6,IL-8).Moreover,AgNP solutions at lower concentrations exerted limited inhibitory effects on cell proliferation and had no effect on cytokine secretion.The AgNP-CCD demonstrated satisfactory morphological and physical properties as well as efficient antibacterial activities.An in vivo evaluation indicated that AgNP-CCD could accelerate the healing process of deep second-degree burn wounds and played an important role in the regulation of growth and inflammatory factors,including VEGF,EGFL-7,TGF-β1,bFGF,TNF-α and IL-1β.This AgNP-CCD exerted excellent biological effects on wound healing promotion and cytokine expression regulation.

Ilexonin A is a compound isolated from the root of Ilex pubescens,a traditional Chinese medicine.Ilexonin A has been shown to play a neuroprotective role by regulating the activation of astrocytes and microglia in the peri-infarct area after ischemia.However,the effects of ilexonin A on astrocytes and microglia in the infarct-free region of the hippocampal CA1 region remain unclear.Focal cerebral ischemia models were established by 2-hour occlusion of the middle cerebral artery in rats.Ilexonin A(20,40 or 80 mg/kg)was administered immediately after ischemia/reperfusion.The astrocyte marker glial fibrillary acidic protein,microglia marker Iba-1,neural stem cell marker nestin and inflammation markers were detected by immunohistochemistry and western blot assay.Expression levels of tumor necrosis factor-αand interleukin 1βwere determined by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay in the hippocampal CA1 tissue.Astrocytes were activated immediately in progressively increasing numbers from 1,3,to 7 days post-ischemia/reperfusion.The number of activated astrocytes further increased in the hippocampal CA1 region after treatment with ilexonin A.Microglial cells remained quiescent after ischemia/reperfusion,but became activated after treatment with ilexonin A.Ilexonin A enhanced nestin expression and reduced the expression of tumor necrosis factor-αand interleukin 1βin the hippocampus post-ischemia/reperfusion.The results of the present study suggest that ilexonin A has a neuroprotective effect in the hippocampus after ischemia/reperfusion,probably through regulating astrocytes and microglia activation,promoting neuronal stem cell proliferation and reducing the levels of pro-inflammatory factors.This study was approved by the Animal Ethics Committee of the Fujian Medical University Union Hospital,China.

A novel adaptive subspace ensemble slow feature regression model was developed for soft sensing application.Compared to traditional single models and random subspace models,the proposed method is improved in three aspects.Firstly,sub-datasets are constructed through slow feature directions and variables in each subdatasets are selected according to the output related importance index.Then,an adaptive slow feature regression is presented for sub-models.Finally,a Bayesian inference strategy based on a slow feature analysis process that monitors statistics is developed for probabilistic combination.Two industrial examples were used to evaluate the proposed method.

In this work,we prepared a material with magnetic nanoparticles(Fe_(3)O_(4))as core,layered double hydroxides(LDHs)as affinity shell,and cerium dioxide(CeO_(2))as functional molecules(denoted as Fe_(3)O_(4)@LDH-CeO_(2)).On the basis of combined immobilized metal ion affinity chromatography(IMAC)and metal oxide affinity chromatography(MOAC),Fe_(3)O_(4)@LDH-CeO_(2) was used to enrich phosphopeptides with high efficiency.The material exhibited high selectivity(α-casein:β-casein:BSA=1:1:5000,mass ratio),high recovery(95.87%),and good reusability of 10 times adsorption-desorption experiments.The feasibility of Fe_(3)O_(4)@LDH-CeO_(2) was further investigated by extracting phosphopeptides from biological samples(nonfat milk,serum,saliva,and A549 cell lysate).

Root Endophyte Shift and Key Genera Discovery in Rice under Barnyardgrass Stress

Despite increasing knowledge of barnyardgrass(Echinochloa crus-galli) interference with rice, relatively little is known how endophytes improve the ability of rice against barnyardgrass stress. Here, we provided a detailed temporal characterization of rice root-associated microbiomes during co-cultivation with barnyardgrass and a comparison with the microbiomes of weed-free rice plants. Alpha diversity analysis indicated that barnyardgrass had the opposite effects on endophytic bacteria and fungi in rice roots, in terms of the community diversity, richness and coverage at the rice seedling stage. Principal coordinate analysis showed that barnyardgrass had only a minor effect on the community composition of endophytes in rice roots at the rice seedling stage, but showed a significant and maximum interference at the heading stage. Rice recruited many endophytes to resist biotic stress from barnyardgrass, especially for fungi. PICRUSt(phylogenetic investigation of communities by reconstruction of unobserved states) predictive analysis indicated that 23 metabolic pathways of bacteria were overrepresented in rice. In addition, the main trophic mode of fungi was pathotroph according to FUNGuild analysis. A positive correlation between bacteria and fungi in rice roots was found via network analysis. Anaeromyxobacter, Azospira and Pseudolabrys were the vital bacteria, Phaeosphaeria and Funneliformis were the dominant fungi in maintaining the stability of the ecological network. These results provided data and a theoretical basis for the in-depth understanding of what role endophytes play in rice resistance to barnyardgrass stress and will have implications on improving the resistance of rice against biotic stress using root microbiota.

Electronic devices that are transparent and flexible have a wide range of applications in the domains of vital sign parameter monitoring,health management,and so on.Ferroelectric memory is a revolutionary nonvolatile memory that is ideal for data storage and processing in transparent flexible electronic systems.In this study,Ce-doped hafnium oxide ferroelectric thin film is manufactured on mica substrate by the chemical solution deposition with transparent indium tin oxide(ITO)thin films as the bottom electrodes.The transmittance of mica/ITO/Hf_(0.85)Ce_(0.15)O_(2)thin film is over 80%.The 2Pr of the transparent flexible Hf_(0.85)Ce_(0.15)O_(2)ferroelectric thin film is increased by about 22.4%and the Ec is reduced by 26.7%compared with those of Hf_(0.85)Ce_(0.15)O_(2)ferroelectric thin film grown on p+-Si substrate.The transparent flexible Hf_(0.85)Ce_(0.15)O_(2)ferroelectric thin film can remain keeping good quality when being bent under±2.5 mm bending radius.Additionally,degradation of polarization,retention,and endurance performance was not obvious even at a bending radius of 5.0 mm after 104 bending cycles.This research provides a new strategy and an important experimental basis for the development and implementation of transparent flexible ferroelectric memories.
