Integrating lipidomics and gut microbiota to study the anti-hyperlipidemia effect of Sargentodoxae Caulis extract

AIM To investigate a safer way to set up the disease model of cystic echinococcosis without contamination risk and develop a novel experimental murine model of hepatic cystic echinococcosis. METHODS C57 B/6 mice were injected with human protoscolices of three different concentrations via the portal vein. The mice were followed for 10 mo by ultrasound,gross anatomy,and pathological and immunological examinations. The protoscolex migration in the portal vein,hydatid cyst growth,host immune reaction,and hepatic histopathology were examined *** The infection rates in the mice in the high,medium,and low concentration groups were 90%,100%,and 63.6%,respectively. Professor Li Hemin, whose former name used to be Cai Chuan-yan, is a famous virologist and vaccine expert. Coming from a family of handicraft producer, he was born on June 1, 1922 in Gaoxiong, Taiwan. He spent his childhood and teens under the rule of Japanese colonialists . Under the situation of Japanese oppression, he made up his mind with the influence of progressive idea since he was young to save the nation by science, and he had a strong desire for the prosperity of his country and for the returning of Taiwan to the embrace of his motherland.

Crystal Structure and Fluorescent Property of a 2D Coordination Polymer:[Eu(PCPA)_3(H_2O)]_n

The title coordination polymer [Eu（PCPA）3（H2O）]n （PCPA = p-chlorophenoxyacetate） has been synthesized under hydrothermal condition, determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction and characterized by FT-IR, UV-VIS and fluorescent spectra. The crystal belongs to triclinic system, space group PI^- with a = 7.8036（1）, b = 12.7458（4）, c = 14.0208（3） A, α = 81.610（8）, β = 79.406（8）, γ = 77.567（7）°, V = 1330.40（5） A^3, C24H20Cl3EuO10, Mr = 726.71, Z = 2, F（000） = 716, Dc= 1.814 g/cm^3, λ（MoKa） = 0.71073 A, μ（MoKα） = 2.713 mm^-1, the final R = 0.0284 and wR = 0.0678 for 5529 observed reflections with I 〉 2σ（I）. The europium ions are located in a nine-coordinate environment. PCPA ions with two different coordination modes connect the metal ions to form 1D zigzag chains which are arranged to generate 2D supramolecular layers by intermolecular hydrogen bonds. The luminescence properties of the rare-earth ions are studied in this paper.

Antiviral effect of polysaccharide from Spirulina platensis(PSP) on HSV-2 in vitro

To explore the antiviral effect and mechanism of polysaccharide from Spirulina platensis （PSP） on herpes simplex virus type 2 （HSV-2）, a standard strain of HSV-2 （333 strain） was used to investigate the antiviral effect of PSP in vitro. PSP in various concentrations was applied to different stages of HSV-2 replication cycle. Finally, the virus infectivity （TCID50）, cytopathic effect （CPE）, and MTT staining method for viable cells （MTT assay） were used as markers to evaluate the effect of PSP on HSV-2. The quantity of HSV-DNA was detected by real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR （FQ-PCR）. The HSV-2 infected Vero cell tdtrastructures were observed by transmission electron microscopy （TEM）. The results showed that PSP had little cytotoxic effect on Vero cells, it could not directly inactivate HSV-2 infectivity. PSP not only interfered in adsorption of HSV-2 to Vero cells but also inhibited HSV-2 biosynthesis in the ceils. FQ-PCR results showed that the inhibitory rate on HSV- DNA also increased in a dose-dependent and time-dependent manner. TEM also confirmed that PSP exhibited pronounced inhibitory effect on HSV-2. In conclusion, the antiviral effect of PSP on HSV-2 may be attributed to the inhibition of virus adsorption, virus replication and synthesis in cells.

Effect of pyrite content on chalcopyrite flotation under different regrinding conditions

This study aimed to investigate the effect of varying pyrite(Py)content on copper(Cu)in the presence of different regrinding conditions,which were altered using different types of grinding media:iron,ceramic balls,and their mixture,followed by flotation in the cleaner *** flotation performance of rough Cu concentrate can be improved by changing the regrinding conditions based on the Py *** electron microscopy,X-ray spectrometry,ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid disodium salt extraction,and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy studies illustrated that when the Py content was high,the use of iron media in regrinding promoted the generation of hydrophilic Fe OOH on the surface of Py and improved the Cu *** ceramic medium with a low Py content prevented excessive Fe OOH from covering the surface of chalcopyrite(Cpy).Electrochemical studies further showed that the galvanic corrosion current of Cpy-Py increased with the addition of Py and became stronger with the participation of iron media.
