摘      要：Professor Li Hemin, whose former name used to be Cai Chuan-yan, is a famous virologist and vaccine expert. Coming from a family of handicraft producer, he was born on June 1, 1922 in Gaoxiong, Taiwan. He spent his childhood and teens under the rule of Japanese colonialists . Under the situation of Japanese oppression, he made up his mind with the influence of progressive idea since he was young to save the nation by science, and he had a strong desire for the prosperity of his country and for the returning of Taiwan to the embrace of his motherland.
