Network analysis reveals context-dependent structural complexity of social calls in serrate-legged small treefrogs

Vocal communication plays an important role in survival,reproduction,and animal social *** and mammals produce com-plex vocal sequence to convey context-dependent *** are conspicuous features of the behavior of most anuran species(frogs and toads),and males usually alter their calling strategies according to ecological context to improve the attractiveness/***,very few studies have focused on the variation of vocal sequence in *** the present study,we used both conventional method and network analysis to investigate the context-dependent vocal repertoire,vocal sequence,and call network structure in serrate-legged small treefrogs Kurixalus *** found that male *** modified their vocal sequence by switching to different call types and increasing repertoire size in the presence of a competitive ***,compared with before and after the playback of advertisement calls,males emited fewer advertisement calls,but more aggressive calls,encounter calls,and compound calls during the playback *** analysis revealed that the mean degree,mean closeness,and mean betweenness of the call networks significantly decreased during the playback period,which resulted in lower *** addition,the increased proportion of one-way motifs and average path length also indicated that the connectivity of the call network decreased in competitive ***,the vocal sequence of *** did not display a clear small-world network structure,regardless of *** study presents a paradigm to apply network analysis to vocal sequence in anurans and has important implications for understanding the evolution and function of sequence patterns.

BACKGROUND Immunoglobulin D(IgD)multiple myeloma(MM)is a rare subtype of MM and commonly occurs in younger subjects but at a later stage of the International Staging System(ISS)when *** a special type of IgD myeloma,IgD-λ/λbiclonal MM is *** serum protein electrophoresis and serum immunofixation electrophoresis(IFE)might find no anomalies even if the bone marrow(BM)examination is ***,it is easy to miss the *** SUMMARY A 62-year-old man diagnosed as IgD-λ/λmyeloma(ISS stage III)was admitted with fatigue and weight *** physical examination suggested an anemic face,a few moist rales at the left lung base,and mild concave edema in both lower *** examinations showed the elevated creatinine levels,β2-microglobulin,lactic dehydrogenase,and erythrocyte sedimentation rate,while the decreased neutrophils,granulocytes,and *** the serum protein electrophoresis,there appeared two inconspicuous *** IFE indicated an over-representation of lambda light chain and yielded two monoclonal bands inλregion,but only one corresponding heavy chain band in the antisera to IgD *** BM histology and BM cytology both supported the diagnosis of IgD-λ/λ*** This case highlights the differential clinical manifestations and laboratory findings of IgD-λ/λmyeloma to help minimize the chance of misdiagnosis.

Zirconium-based metal-organic cages(Zr-MOCs)typically exhibit high stability,but their structural and application reports are scarce due to stringent crystallization *** have successfully fluorinated the classical Zr-MOCs(ZrT-3)for the first time,obtaining the fluorinated MOCs(ZrT-3-F).Notably,ZrT-3-F not only inherits the high stability of its parent structure,but also acts as a catalyst for the effective oxidation of benzyl thioether for the first *** reaction can reach a conversion rate of 99%in 6 h,and the selectivity reaches 95%,which far exceeds the non-fluorinated *** work proves that the specific functionalization of the classical Zr-MOCs can further expand their application potential,such as catalysis.

An Enhanced Dual-Layer Ensemble Framework for Porosity Prediction Utilizing Conventional Well Logging Data

Porosity is the one of the most fundamental and critical parameters for reservoir characterization and is closely related to the hydrocarbon storage capacity. The interpretation methods of conventional well logs have poor generalization capabilities to achieve the desired accuracy in porosity prediction. The increasing adoption of machine learning has ameliorated this predicament to some extent， but it remains difficult to reconstruct the complex and nonlinear relationship between logging responses and porosity by relying on individual machine learning models alone. This work proposes a two-layer model ensemble framework to predicte porosity， which includes base regressors in the first layer and meta regressor in the second layer. The results indicate that the Light Gradient Boosting Machine (LightGBM) - Categorical-Features Gradient Boosting (CatBoost) ensemble model provides the highest prediction accuracy for the given dataset and is applied for porosity evaluation at other logged depths. This work also points out that the base regressor should be accurate and complex， while the structure of the meta-regressor should be simple in order to achieve the desired performance. Furthermore， the proposed model ensemble framework is versatile and applicable to reservoir evaluation， engineering development， and other potential fields due to its effectiveness and convenience.

Research on acupuncture robots based on the OptiTrack motion capture system and a robotic arm

OBJECTIVE: To propose an automatic acupuncture robot system for performing acupuncture operations. METHODS: The acupuncture robot system consists of three components: automatic acupoint localization, acupuncture manipulations, and De Qi sensation detection. The OptiTrack motion capture system is used to locate acupoints, which are then translated into coordinates in the robot control system. A flexible collaborative robot with an intelligent gripper is then used to perform acupuncture manipulations with high precision. In addition, a De Qi sensation detection system is proposed to evaluate the effect of acupuncture. To verify the stability of the designed acupuncture robot, acupoints' coordinates localized by the acupuncture robot are compared with the Gold Standard labeled by a professional acupuncturist using significant level tests. RESULTS: Through repeated experiments for eight acupoints, the acupuncture robot achieved a positioning error within 3.3 mm, which is within the allowable range of needle extraction and acupoint insertion. During needle insertion, the robot arm followed the prescribed trajectory with a mean deviation distance of 0.02 mm and a deviation angle of less than 0.15°. The results of the lifting thrusting operation in the Xingzhen process show that the mean acupuncture depth error of the designed acupuncture robot is approximately 2 mm, which is within the recommended depth range for the Xingzhen operation. In addition, the average detection accuracy of the De Qi keywords is 94.52%, which meets the requirements of acupuncture effect testing for different dialects. CONCLUSION: The proposed acupuncture robot system streamlines the acupuncture process, increases efficiency, and reduces practitioner fatigue, while also allowing for the quantification of acupuncture manipulations and evaluation of therapeutic effects. The microstructure evolution and mechanical properties of a Fe-0.12C-0.2Si-1.6Mn-0.3Cr-0.0025B(wt.%)steel with different initial microstructures,i.e.,hot rolled(HR)and cold rolled-annealed(CRA),were studied through optical microscopy,scanning electron microscopy,electron channeling contrast imaging,microhardness and room temperature uniaxial tensile *** water quenching from 930℃ to room temperature,a fully martensitic microstructure was obtained in both as-quenched HR and CRA specimens,which shows a microhardness of 480±5 HV,and no significant difference in microstructure and microhardness was *** test results show that the product of tensile strength and total elongation(UTS×TE)of the as-quenched HR specimen,i.e.,24.1 GPa%,is higher than that of the as-quenched CRA specimen,i.e.,18.9 GPa%.While,after being tempered at 300℃,the martensitic microstructures and mechanical properties of the two as-quenched specimens change significantly due to the synergy role of the matrix phase softening and the precipitation *** the maximum UTS×TE,it is 18.9 GPa%obtained in the as-quenched CRA one,while that is 24.4 GPa%obtained in the HR specimen after tempered at 300℃ for 5 min.

In this study,Pepsin@AuNPs(Pep@AuNPs)and Trypsin@AuNPs(Try@AuNPs)were synthesized by a microfluidic droplet system using Pepsin and Trypsin as protection reagents and NaOH as reducing *** to the synthesis method in a flask,the AuNPs synthesized by the microfluidic droplet system demonstrated uniform nucleation,superior ultraviolet absorption performance,high stability and short preparation cycles(15 min).The detection range of Cu(II)by Pep@AuNPs was 1.0–100.0µmol/L and the detection limit was 0.3µmol/*** detection range of L-Cysteine by Try@AuNPs was 0.3–250.0 mmol/L and the detection limit was 0.1 mmol/*** universal method provides an effective strategy for the detection of bioactive molecules,such as metal ions and amino acids by AuNPs with protein as a protective agent.

Hydrogen-enhanced light-induced thermoelastic spectroscopy sensing

A hydrogen（）-enhanced light-induced thermoelastic spectroscopy（LITES） sensor is proposed for the first time, to our knowledge, in this paper. The enhancement with H2significantly reduces the resonance damping of a quartz tuning fork（QTF）, leading to a 2.5-fold improvement in the quality factor（Q-factor） to 30,000 without introducing additional noise into the LITES sensor system. Based on the H2-enhancement effect, a self-designed round-head QTF with a low resonance frequency（f0） of 9527 Hz and a fiber coupled multipass cell（MPC）with an optical length of 40 m were utilized to increase the energy accumulation time of QTF and the optical absorption of the target gas, respectively, to demonstrate an ultra-highly sensitive C2H2-LITES sensor. The longterm stability of the H2-enhanced C2H2-LITES sensor was investigated based on Allan deviation analysis. With an optimal integration time of 140 s, the minimum detection limit（MDL） was improved to 290 parts per trillion（ppt）. Compared to other reported state-of-the-art C2H2-LITES techniques with similar parameters, this sensor shows a 241-fold improvement in the MDL. This H2-enhancement technique proves to be a highly effective method for achieving a high Q-factor QTF, characterized by its simplicity and efficiency. It offers substantial potential for applications in QTF-based gas sensing.
