li_(3)VO_4 has been considered as a promising insertion-type anode for lithium-ion batteries due to its high theoretical specific capacity and suitable operating voltage platform. However, this promising anode still suffers from poor electrical conductivity. To address this issue, herein, a porous carbon supported li_(3)VO_4 composites(li_(3)VO_4/C) via a facile agitation-drying method combined with subsequent calcination is reported, in which Ketjen black carbon with high porosity, easy dispersion and excellent conductivity can serve as one of carbon sources. The li_(3)VO_4/C composite prepared at 700 ℃ with a carbon content of~10% exhibits the optimized structure. The void space of the composite accommodates the volume changes during the charge/discharge ***, the carbon shell serves as a conductive skeleton to provide bi-continuous li ions and electrons pathways. Electrochemical results reveal that the composite delivers a high initial discharge capacity of 572 m Ahág^(-1) and maintains a capacity of 442.9 m Ahág^(-1) after 100 cycles at 100 m Aág^(-1). Even at a high current density of 2 Aág^(-1), a considerable capacity of 243.8 m Ahág^(-1) can still be obtained. This work provides a promising approach for the practical application of li_(3)VO_4 as anode material for liBs.

Considering the fact that memristors have the characteristics similar to biological synapses, a fractional-order multistable memristor is proposed in this paper. It is verified that the fractional-order memristor has multiple local active regions and multiple stable hysteresis loops, and the influence of fractional-order on its nonvolatility is also revealed. Then by considering the fractional-order memristor as an autapse of Hindmarsh–Rose(HR) neuron model, a fractional-order memristive neuron model is developed. The effects of the initial value, external excitation current, coupling strength and fractional-order on the firing behavior are discussed by time series, phase diagram, Lyapunov exponent and inter spike interval(ISI) bifurcation diagram. Three coexisting firing patterns, including irregular asymptotically periodic(A-periodic)bursting, A-periodic bursting and chaotic bursting, dependent on the memristor initial values, are observed. It is also revealed that the fractional-order can not only induce the transition of firing patterns, but also change the firing frequency of the neuron. Finally, a neuron circuit with variable fractional-order is designed to verify the numerical simulations.

AIM To explore the features and prognostic value of lymph node metastasis in patients with T1-stage colorectal cancer(CRC).METHODS In all,321 cases of T1-stage CRC were selected from 10132 patients with CRC who received surgical therapy in six large-scale hospitals in China and were retrospectively analyzed. Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed to analyze the risk factors for lymphatic metastasis. A survival analysis was then performed to analyze the prognostic value of lymph node *** The occurrence rate of T1 stage was 3.17%(321/10132);of these patients,the lymph node metastasis rate was 8.41%(27/321),and the non-lymph node metastasis rate was 91.59%(294/321). Univariate analysis showed that preoperative serum CEA,preoperative serum CA199,preoperative serum CA724,vascular invasion,and degree of differentiation were associated with lymph node metastasis in T1-stage CRC(P < 0.05 for all). Multivariate analysis indicated that preoperative serum CA724,vascular invasion,and degree of differentiation were closely related to lymph node metastasis(P < 0.05 for all). Log-rank survival analysis showed that age,preoperative serum CEA,preoperative serum CA199,vascular invasion,degree of differentiation,and lymph node metastasis(χ2 = 24.180,P < 0.001) were predictors of 5-year overall survival(OS)(P < 0.05 for all). COX regression analysis demonstrated that preoperative serum CA199 and lymph node metastasis(HR = 5.117;P < 0.05;95%CI: 0.058-0.815) were independent prognostic indicators of 5-year OS in patients with T1-stage CRC(P < 0.05 for both). CONCLUSION The morbidity of T1-stage CRC was 3.17% for all CRC cases. Preoperative serum CA724,vascular invasion,and degree of differentiation are independent risk factors for lymph node metastasis. Lymph node metastasis is an independent prognostic factor for OS in patients with T1-stage CRC.

The low dose effects induced by carbon ions on Chinese hamster V79 cells and murine melanoma B16 cells were investigated in this paper. Both cell lines were divided into four groups for irradiation: (1) control, (2) 0.02 Gy or 0.05 Gy(D1), (3) 1 Gy(D2), (4) D1+D2. The survivors and micronuclei were studied as biological endpoints. The results of group (1) and group (2) showed that there were no obvious differences on micronucleus frequency but there were significant increases when irradiation dose was 0.02Gy on colony formation efficiency. Although low dose ion irradiation could not contribute to DNA damages, it could enhance the colony formation efficiency. In the study of group (3) and (4), when the ion dose was 0.02 Gy, there were evident increases on surviving fraction and decreases on micronucleus frequency, but there were no statistical changes on these endpoints when the ion dose was 0.05Gy. This meant that high LET radiation could induce the adaptive response of cultured cells, furthermore, in the range of inducing ion dose , low dose irradiation was more profitable than high dose one.

The global "myopia boom" has raised significant international concerns. Despite a higher myopia prevalence in Asia, previous large-scale genome-wide association studies(GWASs) were mostly based on European descendants. Here, we report a GWAS of spherical equivalent(SE) in 1852 Chinese Han individuals with extreme SE from Guangzhou(631 0.00 D) and Wenzhou(593 -1.75 D), followed by a replication study in two independent cohorts with totaling 3538 East Asian individuals. The discovery GWAS and meta-analysis identify three novel loci, which show genome-wide significant associations with SE, including 1 q25.2 FAM163 A, 10 p11.22 NRP1/PRAD3, and 10 p11.21 ANKRD30 A/MTRNR2 L7, together explaining 3.34% of SE variance. 10 p11.21 is successfully *** allele frequencies of all three loci show significant differences between major continental groups(P < 0.001). The SE reducing(more myopic) allele of rs10913877(1 q25.2 FAM163 A) demonstrates the highest frequency in East Asians and much lower frequencies in Europeans and Africans(EAS = 0.60,EUR = 0.20, and AFR = 0.18). The gene-based analysis additionally identifies three novel genes associated with SE, including EI24, LHX5, and ARPP19. These results provide new insights into myopia pathogenesis and indicate the role of genetic heterogeneity in myopia epidemiology among different ethnicities.
