Sanguinarine Attenuates Lipopolysaccharide-induced Inflammation and Apoptosis by Inhibiting the TLR4/NF-KB Pathway in H9c2 Cardiomyocytes

The inflammatory response is involved in the pathogenesis of the most common types of heart disease. Sanguinarine （SAN） has various pharmacological properties such as anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial, antitumor, and immune-enhancing properties. However, few studies have investigated the effects of SAN on lipopolysaceharide （LPS）-induced inflammatory and apoptotic responses in H9c2 cardiomyocytes. Therefore, in this study, H9c2 cells were co-treated with SAN and LPS, and the mRNA levels of pro-inflammation markers and the apoptosis rate were measured to clarify the effect of SAN on cardiac inflammation. The underlying mechanism was further investigated by detecting the activation of Toll-like receptor （TLR）4/nuclear faetor-κB （NF-κB） signaling pathways. As a result, increased mRNA expression of interleukin （IL）-1β, IL-6, and TNFα induced by LPS was attenuated after SAN treatment; LPS-induced apoptosis ofHge2 cardiomyocytes and cleaved-caspase 8, 9, 3 were all significantly reduced by SAN. Further experiments showed that the beneficial effect of SAN on blocking the inflammation and apoptosis of H9c2 cardiomyocytes induced by LPS was associated with suppression of the TLR4/NF-κB signaling pathway. It was suggested that SAN suppressed the LPS-induced inflammation and apoptosis of H9c2 cardiomyocytes, which may be mediated by inhibition of the TLR4/NF-κB signaling pathway. Thus, SAN may be a feasible therapy to treat sepsis patients with cardiac dysfunction.

Objective:The efficacy of medications for Parkinson’s disease(PD)tend to decline over time,which has a serious impact on patients’health and quality of life.To some extent,traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)can resolve the distressing problem of ineffective dopaminergic medication in PD patients.The purpose of this study was to investigate the attitude,acceptance,and independent predictors of TCM in PD patients admitted to the outpatient department of a tertiary hospital.Methods:A cross-sectional study of PD patients was conducted in the outpatient department of a large tertiary hospital in Beijing from March 2022 to June 2023.A self-report questionnaire was developed to investigate PD patients’attitudes and acceptance of TCM based on the questionnaire.Multivariate logistic regression analyses were also performed to further clarify the independent predictors influencing patients’adoption of TCM therapy.Results:A total of 397 patients completed the questionnaire,of which 78.09%were willing to be treated with TCM and 21.91%indicated that they were not willing to use TCM.Multifactorial logistic regression analysis showed that several parameters were correlated with a patient’s willingness to include TCM in their therapeutic regime.These included education level of a bachelor’s degree(odds ratio[OR)=8.554;95%confidence interval[CI]:4.112–17.794;P<0.001,vs junior high school education),living in an urban setting(OR=8.022;95%CI:4.577–14.060;P<0.001,vs rural),having other underlying diseases(OR=5.126;95%CI:3.078–8.537;P<0.001,vs none),having previously used TCM(OR=3.083;95%CI:1.852–5.134;P<0.001,vs not used),believing that TCM therapy is safe(OR=3.530;95%CI:1.446–8.616;P=0.006,vs not thought),believing that TCM therapy is effective(OR=3.859;95%CI:1.482–10.047;P=0.006,vs not understood),and being willing to discuss ongoing TCM therapy with an attending physician(OR=62.468;95%CI:30.350–128.574;P<0.001,vs not informed).Conclusion:This study initially investigated the acceptance,attitude,and independent predictors of TCM use

Effect of alumina occurrence form on metallurgical properties of hematite and magnetite pellets

The effect of alumina occurrence form on the metallurgical properties of both hematite and magnetite pellets was investigated at the same Al_(2)O level of 2 wt.%,including reduction index(RI),low-temperature reduction disintegration index(RDI),reduction swelling index(RSI),and high-temperature softening-dripping performance.The mineralogy of fired pellets was also studied to reveal the influence of alumina occurrence form on the phase composition and microstructure.From the results,the alumina occurrence form presents tremendous impacts on the metallurgical perfor-mance of both magnetite and hematite pellets.Addition of all alumina occurrence forms contributes to inferior reducibility of pellets,especially in the case of gibbsite for magnetite pellets with a RI of 58.4%and kaolinite for hematite pellets with a RI of 56.8%.However,addition of all alumina occurrence forms improves the RDI of magnetite pellets,while there is no significant difference among various alumina occurrence forms.In contrast,alumina occurrence forms have little influence on the RDI of hematite pellets.The presence of free alumina,gibbsite,and kaolinite tends to improve the RSI of hematite and magnetite pellets,whereas hercynite gives the opposite trend with a RSI of 25.6%.For softening-dripping performance of magnetite pellets,all alumina occurrence forms contribute to narrower softening-melting interval.Meanwhile,alumina,gibbsite,and kaolinite give narrower softening-dripping interval,at 229,217,and 88℃,respectively,whereas addition of hercynite results in the largest melting range at 276℃ due to its high melting point.Regarding hematite pellets,free alumina,gibbsite,and hercynite tend to enlarge melting range,whereas kaolinite contributes to lower dripping temperature of 1148℃ and narrow softening-dripping interval of 88℃ due to the formation of a greater amount of slag phase at high temperatures.

Dynamic Scene Graph Generation of Point Clouds with Structural Representation Learning

Scene graphs of point clouds help to understand object-level relationships in the 3D space.Most graph generation methods work on 2D structured data,which cannot be used for the 3D unstructured point cloud data.Existing point-cloud-based methods generate the scene graph with an additional graph structure that needs labor-intensive manual annotation.To address these problems,we explore a method to convert the point clouds into structured data and generate graphs without given structures.Specifically,we cluster points with similar augmented features into groups and establish their relationships,resulting in an initial structural representation of the point cloud.Besides,we propose a Dynamic Graph Generation Network(DGGN)to judge the semantic labels of targets of different granularity.It dynamically splits and merges point groups,resulting in a scene graph with high precision.Experiments show that our methods outperform other baseline methods.They output reliable graphs describing the object-level relationships without additional manual labeled data.

Coal gasification fly ash(CGFA)is an industrial solid waste from the coal circulating fluidized bed(CFB)gasification process,and it needs to be effectively disposed to achieve sustainable development of the environment.To realize the application of CGFA as a precursor of porous carbon materials,the physicochemical properties of three kinds of CGFA from industrial CFB gasifiers are analyzed.Then,the activation potential of CGFA is acquired via steam activation experiments in a tube furnace reactor.Finally,the fluidization activation technology of CGFA is practiced in a bench-scale CFB test rig,and its advantages are highlighted.The results show that CGFA is characterized by a high carbon content in the range of 54.06%–74.09%,an ultrafine particle size(d50:16.3–26.1 μm),and a relatively developed pore structure(specific surface area SSA:139.29–551.97 m^(2)·g^(-1)).The proportion of micropores in CGFA increases gradually with the coal rank.Steam activation experiments show that the pore development of CGFA mainly includes three stages:initial pore development,dynamic equilibrium between micropores and mesopores and pore collapse.The SSA of lignite fly ash(LFA),subbituminous fly ash(SBFA)and anthracite fly ash(AFA)is maximally increased by 105%,13%and 72%after steam activation;the order of the largest carbon reaction rate and decomposition ratio of steam among the three kinds of CGFA is SBFA>LFA>AFA.As the ratio of oxygen to carbon during the fluidization activation of LFA is from 0.09 to 0.19,the carbon conversion ratio increases from 14.4%to 26.8%and the cold gas efficiency increases from 6.8%to 10.2%.The SSA of LFA increases by up to 53.9%during the fluidization activation process,which is mainly due to the mesoporous development.Relative to steam activation in a tube furnace reactor,fluidization activation takes an extremely short time(seconds)to achieve the same activation effect.It is expected to further improve the activation effect of LFA by regulating the carbon conversion ratio range of 27%–35%to create por

In some military application scenarios,Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(UAVs)need to perform missions with the assistance of on-board cameras when radar is not available and communication is interrupted,which brings challenges for UAV autonomous navigation and collision avoidance.In this paper,an improved deep-reinforcement-learning algorithm,Deep Q-Network with a Faster R-CNN model and a Data Deposit Mechanism(FRDDM-DQN),is proposed.A Faster R-CNN model(FR)is introduced and optimized to obtain the ability to extract obstacle information from images,and a new replay memory Data Deposit Mechanism(DDM)is designed to train an agent with a better performance.During training,a two-part training approach is used to reduce the time spent on training as well as retraining when the scenario changes.In order to verify the performance of the proposed method,a series of experiments,including training experiments,test experiments,and typical episodes experiments,is conducted in a 3D simulation environment.Experimental results show that the agent trained by the proposed FRDDM-DQN has the ability to navigate autonomously and avoid collisions,and performs better compared to the FRDQN,FR-DDQN,FR-Dueling DQN,YOLO-based YDDM-DQN,and original FR outputbased FR-ODQN.

Currently,there is no solid criterion for judging the quality of the estimators in factor analysis.This paper presents a new evaluation method for exploratory factor analysis that pinpoints an appropriate number of factors along with the best method for factor extraction.The proposed technique consists of two steps:testing the normality of the residuals from the fitted model via the Shapiro-Wilk test and using an empirical quantified index to judge the quality of the factor model.Examples are presented to demonstrate how the method is implemented and to verify its effectiveness.

Hypersonic vehicles have enormous military and economic value,while their power and thermal protection demands will increase substantially with the rise in Mach number and duration.Converting the tremendous high-quality heat on the vehicle surface and engine wall into electrical energy through heat-to-power technologies will not only play a role in thermal protection,but also supply power for the vehicle.This paper provides a comprehensive review of heat-to-power conversion technologies on hypersonic vehicles,including the indirect conversion of Brayton and Rankine cycles,direct conversion of thermoelectric materials,and combined conversion.For the open Brayton cycle with hydrocarbon fuel as the working fluid,the Power-to-Weight Ratio(PWR)can achieve the highest,at around 1.8,due to the high PWR of the hydrocarbon fuel turbine and the few components of the system.However,its work capacity is limited by the flow rate of the supplied fuel.The closed Brayton cycle can maintain a relatively high PWR,ranging from 0.2 to 0.8,while achieving relatively high output power and conversion efficiency.The Rankine cycle has a higher PWR,its range is close to that of the closed Brayton cycle,peaking at about 0.88.The thermoelectric materials technology has a small power generation level,making it more suitable for scenarios with low power demand.This review provides a basis for selecting and developing heat-to-power conversion technologies on hypersonic vehicles.

BACKGROUND Complement components could contribute to the tumor microenvironment and the systemic immune response.Nevertheless,their role in colorectal cancer(CRC)remains a contentious subject.AIM To elucidate the relationship between complement components and CRC risk and clinical characteristics.METHODS Searches were conducted in PubMed,the Cochrane Library,and the China National Knowledge Infrastructure database until June 1,2023.We included cohort studies encompassing participants aged≥18 years,investigating the association between complement components and CRC.The studies were of moderate quality or above,as determined by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.The meta-analysis employed fixed-effects or random-effects models based on the I^(2)test,utilizing risk ratio(RR)and their corresponding 95%confidence interval(CI)for outcomes.Sensitivity and subgroup analyses were performed to validate the robustness of the collective estimates and identify the source of heterogeneity.RESULTS Data from 15 studies,comprising 1631 participants that met the inclusion criteria,were included in the meta-analysis.Our findings indicated that protein levels of cluster of differentiation 46(CD46)(RR=3.66,95%CI:1.75-7.64,P<0.001),CD59(RR=2.86,95%CI:1.36-6.01,P=0.005),and component 1(C1)(RR=5.88,95%CI:1.75-19.73,P=0.004)and serum levels of C3(standardized mean difference=1.82,95%CI:0.06-3.58,P=0.040)were significantly elevated in patients with CRC compared to healthy controls.Strong expression of CD55 or CD59 was associated with a higher incidence of lymph node metastasis,whereas strong CD46 expression correlated with a higher incidence of tumor differentiation compared to low CD46 expression(P<0.05 for all).Although specific pooled results demonstrated notable heterogeneity,subgroup analyses pointed to regional differences as the primary source of inconsistency among the studies.CONCLUSION Our analysis underscores that increased levels of specific complement components are associated with a heightened risk of CRC,emphasi
