Tip-induced directional charge separation on one-dimensional BiVO4 nanocones for asymmetric light absorption

One dimensional(1D)semiconductor is a class of extensively attractive materials for many emerging solar energy conversion technologies.However,it is still of shortage to assess the impact of 1D structural symmetry on spatial charge separation and understand its underlying mechanism.Here we take controllably-synthesized 1D BiVO_(4)nanocones and nanorods as prototypes to study the influence of 1D symmetry on charge separation.It is found that the asymmetric BiVO_(4)nanocones enable more effective charge separation compared with the symmetric nanorods.The unexpected spatial charge separation on the nanocones is mainly ascribed to uneven light absorption induced diffusion-controllable charge separation due to symmetry breaking of 1D nanostructure,as evidenced by spatial and temporal resolved spectroscopy.Moreover,the promotion effect of charge separation on the nanocones was quantitatively evaluated to be over 20 times higher than that in BiVO_(4)nanorods.This work gives the first demonstration of the influence of 1D structural symmetry on the charge separation behavior,providing new insights to design and fabricate semiconductor materials for efficient solar energy conversion.

As deep learning models have made remarkable strides in numerous fields,a variety of adversarial attack methods have emerged to interfere with deep learning models.Adversarial examples apply a minute perturbation to the original image,which is inconceivable to the human but produces a massive error in the deep learning model.Existing attack methods have achieved good results when the network structure is known.However,in the case of unknown network structures,the effectiveness of the attacks still needs to be improved.Therefore,transfer-based attacks are now very popular because of their convenience and practicality,allowing adversarial samples generated on known models to be used in attacks on unknown models.In this paper,we extract sensitive features by Grad-CAM and propose two single-step attacks methods and a multi-step attack method to corrupt sensitive features.In two single-step attacks,one corrupts the features extracted from a single model and the other corrupts the features extracted from multiple models.In multi-step attack,our method improves the existing attack method,thus enhancing the adversarial sample transferability to achieve better results on unknown models.Our method is also validated on CIFAR-10 and MINST,and achieves a 1%-3%improvement in transferability.

News recommendation system is designed to deal with massive news and provide personalized recommendations for users.Accurately capturing user preferences and modeling news and users is the key to news recommendation.In this paper,we propose a new framework,news recommendation system based on topic embedding and knowledge embedding(NRTK).NRTK handle news titles that users have clicked on from two perspectives to obtain news and user representation embedding:1)extracting explicit and latent topic features from news and mining users’preferences for them in historical behaviors;2)extracting entities and propagating users’potential preferences in the knowledge graph.Experiments in a real-world dataset validate the effectiveness and efficiency of our approach.

To the Editor:Confronted with increasing infertility worldwide,this decade has witnessed a sharp rise in the utilization of artificial reproduction technology(ART).111 Nevertheless,the success rate of in vitro fertilization(IVF)/intracytoplasmic sperm injection(ICSI)depends on many factors.Moreover,patients receiving ART not only incur high expenses but also an increased risk of severe side effects,such as ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome,infection,and multiple pregnancies.121 Consequently,the accurate prediction of ART outcomes has attracted tremendous interest.

A series of MOx-V2O5-MoO3-CeO2/TiO2(M=Mn,Cu,Sb,and La) catalysts were prepared via an impregnation method.The physico-chemical properties of the catalysts were characterized and their NH3-SCR of NO performance was compared.The Mn-loaded catalyst(Mn5V1Mo3Ce7/Ti) exhibits a large number of acid sites of varying strength,and together with good reducibility of the catalyst,contributes to the optimal SCR performance.The sulphate species formed in the presence of SO2 significantly enhance the H2O and SO2 tolerance of Mn5V1Mo3Ce7/Ti.The Cu-loaded catalyst(Cu5V1Mo3Ce7/Ti)demonstrates potential in flue gas applications in the absence of SO2 at low temperatures because of the excellent redox ability observed and the high degree of weak acid sites.The Sb and La loaded catalysts(Sb5V1Mo3Ce7/Ti and La5V1Mo3Ce7/Ti),especially La5V1Mo3 Ce7/Ti,exhibit the largest number of acid sites and the lowest reducibility,and therefore,may be suitable for use in high temperature denitrification applications.

A Structural Interpretation Model and Restoration of the Mesozoic Proto-basin for the Kuqa Depression,Tarim Basin

A thrust-fold belt consisting of a series of thrusts and buckling folds developed in the Mesozoic and Cenozoic strata within the Kuqa Depression,Tarim Basin.In this study,a structural interpretation model of the Kuqa Depression is established and the Mesozoic proto-basin is reconstructed on the basis of outcrop geology along the basin margin,seismic,well-log and CEMP data.The model is called‘delaminate contractional deformation',which emphasizes the decoupling between the Cenozoic,Mesozoic,pre-Mesozoic and the basin-basement within the Kuqa Depression,but there is no unified detachment.The model has a shortening amount ranging from 12 km to 16 km and the depth involved in contractional deformation ranges from 21 km to 28 km.A prototype of the Mesozoic basin reconstructed by interpretation model is a subbasin superposed on the transitional zone between the uplift at the northern edge of the Tarim Craton and the southern Tianshan orogenic wedge formed in the Hercynian orogeny.Lithospheric thermal and crustal isostatic activity after the Hercynian orogeny maybe the controlling dynamic factors of basin subsidence during the Mesozoic and early Cenozoic,the difference in rock mechanical properties between different levels,craton and orogenic wedge being the major cause of the‘delaminate contractional deformation'during the Himalayan orogeny.

Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)has a very high incidence and fatality rate,and in most cases,it is already at an advanced stage when diagnosed.Therefore,early prevention and detection of HCC are two of the most effective strategies.However,the methods recommended in the practice guidelines for the detection of HCC cannot guarantee high sensitivity and specificity except for the liver biopsy,which is known as the“gold standard”.In this review,we divided the detection of HCC into pre-treatment diagnosis and post-treatment monitoring,and found that in addition to the traditional imaging detection and liver biopsy,alpha fetoprotein(AFP),lens culinaris-agglutinin-reactive fraction of AFP(AFP-L3),protein induced by vitamin K absence or antagonist-II(PIVKA-II)and other biomarkers are excellent biomarkers for HCC,especially when they are combined together.Most notably,the emerging liquid biopsy shows great promise in detecting HCC.In addition,lactic dehydrogenase(LDH),suppressor of cytokine signaling(SOCS)and other relevant biomarkers may become promising biomarkers for HCC post-treatment monitoring.Through the detailed introduction of the diagnostic technology of HCC,we can have a detailed understanding of its development process and then obtain some enlightenment from the diagnosis,to improve the diagnostic rate of HCC and reduce its mortality.

Centrosome aberrations are hallmarks of human cancers and contribute to the senescence process.Structural and numerical centrosome abnormalities trigger mitotic errors,cellular senescence,cell death,genomic instability and/or aneuploidy,resulting in human disorders such as aging and cancer and affecting immunity.Interestingly,centrosome dysfunction promotes the secretion of multiple inflammatory factors that act as pivotal drivers of senescence and tumor immune escape.In this review,we summarize the forms of centrosome dysfunction and further discuss recent advances indicating that centrosome defects contribute to acceleration of senescence progression and promotion of tumor cell immune evasion in different ways.

Self‐adaptive electrostatic discharge performance of ZnO microvaristors doped silicone rubber composites

With the increase in applied voltage and the decrease in volume,integrated electronic modules have become electrostatic sensitive.ZnO microvaristors doped silicone rubber(SiR)composite,with electric field‐dependent conductivity,shows promising prospects for solving the electrostatic problem.In this study,20 vol%to 50 vol%ZnO/SiR composite films,filled with 10–30μm ZnO microvaristors,were prepared and put into the test of electrostatic discharge.Compared with the insulating and conducting materials,ZnO/SiR composites achieve the lowest initial voltage and a short time constant of electrostatic discharge.With the increase of ZnO microvaristors volume fraction,from 20%to 50%,the initial voltage and the time constant of electrostatic discharge drop from 1.78 to 0.72 kV and 3.1 ms to 0.4μs.When the ZnO volume fraction is higher than 30%,there is no residual voltage after 0.1 s.To explore the reason behind different electrostatic discharge performances of the ZnO/SiR composites,the conductivities of the com-posites were measured.It is found that the break‐over voltage of the composite drops with the increase in the ZnO microvaristors volume fraction.When a high voltage im-pulse is applied on the ZnO/SiR film,the composite will turn to the conducting state and release the electrostatic charge adaptively so that the initial voltage can be controlled.This work supplies a novel electrostatic discharge idea for electric and electronic devices.
