Over time,wild crops have been domesticated by humans,and the knowledge gained from parallel selection and convergent domestication-related studies in cereals has contributed to current techniques used in molecular plant ***(Sorghum bicolor(L.)Moench)is the world’s fifth-most popular cereal crop and was one of the first crops cultivated by ancient *** recent years,genetic and genomic studies have provided a better understanding of sorghum domestication and ***,we discuss the origin,diversification,and domestication processes of sorghum based on archeological discoveries and genomic *** review also comprehensively summarized the genetic basis of key genes related to sorghum domestication and outlined their molecular *** highlights that the absence of a domestication bottleneck in sorghum is the result of both evolution and human ***,understanding beneficial alleles and their molecular interactions will allow us to quickly design new varieties by further de novo domestication.

Ubiquitination is emerging as a tight regulatory mechanism that is necessary for all aspects of development and survival of all eukaryotes. Recent genomic and genetic analysis in Arabidopsis suggests that ubiquitination may also play important roles in plant response to the phytohormone abscisic acid （ABA）. Many components of the ubiquitination pathway, such as ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2, ubiquitin ligase E3 and components of the proteasome, have been identified or predicted to be essential in ABA biosynthesis, catabolism and signaling. In addition, the ubiquitination-related pathway, sumoylation, is also involved in ABA signaling. We summarize in this report recent developments to elucidate their roles in the ABA-related pathway.

The fast-response feature from a superconducting magnetic energy storage(SMES)device is favored for suppressing instantaneous voltage and power fluctuations,but the SMES coil is much more expensive than a conventional battery energy storage *** order to improve the energy utilization rate and reduce the energy storage cost under multiple-line power distribution conditions,this paper investigates a new interline DC dynamic voltage restorer(IDC-DVR)scheme with one SMES coil shared among multiple compensating *** this new concept,an improved current-voltage(I/V)chopper assembly,which has a series of input/output power ports,is introduced to connect the single SMES coil with multiple power lines,and thereby satisfy the independent energy exchange requirements of any line to be ***,if two or more power lines have simultaneous compensating demands,the SMES coil can be selectively controlled to compensate the preferable line according to the priority order of the *** feasibility of the proposed scheme is technically verified to maintain the transient voltage stability in multiple-line voltage swell and sag cases caused by either output voltage fluctuations from external power sources or power demand fluctuations from local sensitive *** simulation results provide a technical basis to develop a cost-effective SMES-based IDC-DVR for use in various DC distribution networks.

Nonlocal self-similarity(NSS) is one of the most commonly used priors in computer vision and image processing. It aims to make use of the fact that a natural image often possesses many repetitive local patterns, and thus a local image patch always has many similar patches across the image. Through compensatively integrating these similar image patches, their insightful patterns hiding under corrupted noises can be intrinsically extracted. However, for using this prior knowledge, current methods search the similar patches by using simple block matching strategy with Euclidean distance, which largely ignores those patches containing similar local patterns but with different texture-directions and colors. To more sufficiently explore similar patches over an image, in this paper, we propose two new representations for image patches, which facilitate an easy NSS prior for measuring direction-invariant and color-invariant nonlocal selfsimilarity possessed by image patches. Specifically, based on this prior term, we formulate the color image denoising problem as a concise Bayesian posterior estimation framework, and design an efficient expectationmaximization(EM) algorithm to solve it. A series of experiments implemented on simulated and real noisy color images demonstrate the superiority of the proposed method as compared with the state-of-the-arts both visually and quantitatively, verifying the potential usefulness of this new NSS prior.

Protein post-translational modification （PTM） by ubiquitination has been observed during many aspects of plant growth, development, and stress responses. The ubiquitin-proteasome system precisely regulates phytohormone signaling by affecting protein activity, localization, assembly, and interaction ability. Absci- sic acid （ABA） is a major phytohormone, and plays important roles in plants under normal or stressed growth conditions. The ABA signaling pathway is composed of phosphatases, kinases, transcription fac- tors, and membrane ion channels. It has been reported that multiple ABA signaling transducers are sub- jected to the regulations by ubiquitination. In particular, recent studies have identified different types of E3 ligases that mediate ubiquitination of ABA receptors in different cell compartments. This review focuses on modulation of these components by monoubiquitination or polyubiquitination that occurs in the plasma membrane, endomembranes, and from the cytosol to the nucleus; this implies the existence of retrograde and trafficking processes that are regulated by ubiquitination in ABA signaling. A number of single-unit E3 ligases, components of multi-subunit E3 ligases, E2s, and specific subunits of the 26S proteasome involved in ABA signal regulation are discussed. Dissecting the precise functions of ubiquitination in the ABA pathway may help us understand key factors in the signaling of other phytohormones regulated by ubiqui- tination and other types of PTMs.

With the development of the wireless communication technology and the popularity of mobile devices, the mobile wireless network(MWN) has been widely used in our daily life. Through the access point(AP), users could access the Internet anytime and anywhere using their mobile devices. Therefore, MWNs can bring much convenience to us. Due to the limitation of AP’s coverage, the seamless handover frequently occurs in practical applications. How to guarantee the user’s privacy and security and identify the real identity when he/she brings harm to the system becomes very challenging. To achieve such goals, many anonymous handover authentication(AHA) protocols have been proposed in the last several years. However, most of them have high computation costs because mobile nodes need to carry out the bilinear pairing operations or the hash-to-point operations. Besides, most of them cannot satisfy some critical requirements, such as non-traceability and perfect forward secrecy. In this paper, we first outline the security requirements of AHA protocols, and then propose a new AHA protocol to eliminate weaknesses existing in previous AHA protocols. Based on the hardness of two famous mathematical problems, we demonstrate that the proposed AHA protocol is secure against different kinds of attacks and can meet a variety of security requirements. It can be seen from the details of implementations that the proposed AHA protocol also has much less computation cost than three latest AHA protocols.

When it was discovered in the 1970s as a ubiquitous protein, ubiquitin, a 76-aminoacid peptide, had no assigned function. It was not until later that ubiquitin was found to be a necessary cofactor in a vital cellular process： the degradation of proteins. Work by Avram Hershko, Aaron Ciechanover, and Irwin Rose （for which they received the 2004 Nobel Prize in Chemistry） showed that the covalent attachment of ubiquitin provide pro-teins with a tag that dispatches them to the proteasome, the main cell degradation machinery （Ciechanover 2012）. Subsequent work, has revealed that ubiquitin belongs to a broader family of ubiquitin-like proteins that can modify not only protein stability, but also subcellular localization and function.
