Relationship between resistin level in serum and acute coronary syndrome or stable angina pectoris

Objective： To investigate the relationship between serum resistin level and acute coronary syndrome （ACS） or stable angina pectoris （SAP）. Methods： Sixty-five patients, with coronary artery disease, were enrolled and divided into three subgroups： acute myocardial infarction （AMI）, unstable angina pectoris （UAP） and SAP, and 26 healthy people were recruited as controls in the cross-sectional study. Serum resistin levels were determined by EliSA （enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay）, and WBC （white blood cell count）, hsCRP （high sensitive C-reaction protein）, CKmax （maximum of creatinkinase）, CK-MBmax （maximum of isozyme of creatinkinase） and cTnImax （maximum of troponin） were measured by standard laboratory methods. Results： The serum resistin levels were 4 folds higher in AMI patients, 2.43 folds in UAP patients and I. 12 folds in SAP patients than in the healthy controls （P〈0.05）. The resistin levels were also significantly different between AMI [（8.16±0.79） ng/ml], UAP [（5.59±0.75） ng/ml] and SAP [（3.45±0.56） ng/ml] groups （P〈0.01）; WBC, hsCRP, CK CK-MBmax and cTnlmax were significantly increased in AMI patients over UAP and SAP patients. Spearman analysis showed that serum resistin levels were positively correlated with WBC （r=0.412, P=0.046）, hsCRP （r=0.427,p=0.037）, CK CK-MBmax and cTnImax （r=0.731, 0.678, 0.656; P〈0.01）. Conclusion： Serum resistin levels increased with inflammatory factors and myocardial impairment. The results suggest that human resistin might play an important role in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis and AMI as an inflammatory factor.

Background Respiratory syncytial virus(RSV)is the leading global cause of respiratory infections and is responsible for about 3 million hospitalizations and more than 100,000 deaths annually in children younger than 5 years,representing a major global healthcare *** is a great unmet need for new agents and universal strategies to prevent RSV infections in early life.A multidisciplinary consensus development group comprising experts in epidemiology,infectious diseases,respiratory medicine,and methodology aims to develop the current consensus to address clinical issues of RSV infections in *** sources The evidence searches and reviews were conducted using electronic databases,including PubMed,Embase,Web of Science,and the Cochrane library,using variations in terms for"respiratory syncytial virus","RSV","lower respiratory tract infection","bronchiolitis","acute","viral pneumonia","neonatal","infant""children",and"pediatric".Results Evidence-based recommendations regarding diagnosis,treatment,and prevention were proposed with a high degree of *** supportive care remains the cornerstone for the management of RSV infections,new monoclonal antibodies,vaccines,drug therapies,and viral surveillance techniques are being rolled *** This consensus,based on international and national scientific evidence,reinforces the current recommendations and integrates the recent advances for optimal care and prevention of RSV *** improvements in the management of RSV infections will require generating the highest quality of evidence through rigorously designed studies that possess little bias and sufficient capacity to identify clinically meaningful end points.

Realtime trigger and localization of bursts are the key functions of GECAM,an all-sky gamma-ray monitor launched on 2020 December *** developed a multifunctional trigger and localization software operating in the CPU of the GECAM Electronic *** onboard software has the following features:high trigger efficiency for real celestial bursts with a suppression of false triggers caused by charged particle bursts and background fluctuation,dedicated localization algorithm optimized for both short and long bursts,and low time latency of the trigger information which is downlinked through the Global Short Message Communication service of the global BeiDou navigation *** paper provides a detailed description of the design and development of the trigger and localization software system for *** covers the general design,workflow,the main functions,and the algorithms used in the *** paper also includes on-ground trigger tests using simulated gamma-ray bursts generated by a dedicated X-ray tube,as well as an overview of the performance for real celestial bursts during its in-orbit operation.

Resistin does not down-regulate the transcription of insulin receptor promoter

Objective: To detect the effect of resistin on the transcription of insulin receptor promoter. Methods: Luciferase reporter gene was fused downstream of human insulin receptor promoter and the enzymatic activity of luciferase was determined in the presence or absence of resistin. The resistin expressed with plasmid was stained with antibody against Myc tag which was in frame fused with resistin coding sequence, and then imaged with confocal microscopy. Results: The treatment of pIRP-LUC transfected cells with recombinant resistin did not result in significant difference in the enzymatic activity of luciferase compared to the untreated cells. Cell staining showed that green fluorescence could be observed in the cytoplasm, but not in the nucleus. Conclusion: The results suggest that the endogenous resistin may functionally locate in the cytoplasm, but does not enter the nucleus and not down-regulate the transcription of insulin receptor promoter.

扎日南木措位于藏西北高寒草原带,为西藏第三大湖,生态环境脆弱,长期以来其流域水环境的研究资料缺乏,为探究其流域地表水环境特征及影响因素,于2021年8月~2022年6月丰、枯、平水期对流域湖泊和入湖河流水环境进行调查,结合数理统计以及水化学分析、相关分析和主成分分析等方法,对流域水化学特征进行了评价,分析了水质时空差异特征,并对水质影响因素进行了探讨.结果表明:①扎日南木措流域水体呈碱性,湖水离子组成以Na^(+)、SO_(4)^(2-)和Cl^(-)为主,河流以Ca^(2+)、HCO_(3)~-和SO_(4)^(2-)为主.②硫酸盐、砷、氯化物和总磷为主要超标污染物,流域水质存在明显时空差异.时间上,硫酸盐、砷和总磷超标均表现为:丰水期>枯水期>平水期,氯化物的水期差异不明显;空间上,河流水质优于湖泊,湖泊中砷、总磷、TDS、硫酸盐、氯化物、K^(+)和Na^(+)的浓度较河流高1~2个数量级,水质超标现象基本集中于湖区,而湖内水质空间差异小.③流域水化学过程主要受蒸发-浓缩和岩石风化下的自然过程控制,各类元素经地表径流进入湖泊后,在蒸发浓缩作用下不断富集最后产生超标.④水质时间差异主要是丰水期更多的元素淋失和更强烈的蒸发作用导致;而空间差异则主要是流动水体和封闭水体的水动力条件差异导致.

红火蚁Solenopsis invicta Buren是全球十大最具破坏性的入侵生物之一,对人畜安全、农林业生产以及生态环境造成巨大危害。从植物精油中筛选红火蚁天然驱避化合物是红火蚁综合防控的重要手段之一。本研究采用动物运动轨迹跟踪系统Ethovision XT测试6种植物精油对红火蚁的驱避行为活性,通过GC-MS技术分析驱避效果最佳精油的化合物成分,并利用GC-EAD技术筛选对红火蚁具有触角电生理活性的目标化合物,最后通过挖沙生测法和Y型尺法测试目标化合物对红火蚁的驱避活性。结果表明,在所测试的6种植物精油中,互叶白千层精油对红火蚁的驱避活性最强。互叶白千层精油中含量最高的4种化合物依次为4-松油醇、萜品烯、α-松油烯和4-异丙基甲苯,含量分别为41.43%、11.22%、5.24%和4.61%。这4种化合物均能引起红火蚁工蚁的触角电生理反应。通过挖沙生测和Y型尺法行为实验表明,4-松油醇对红火蚁的驱避活性最强,而α-松油烯与4-异丙基甲苯在高浓度下对红火蚁具有一定的驱避活性,萜品烯对红火蚁无驱避活性。上述研究结果表明,4-松油醇是一种具有开发成红火蚁驱避剂潜力的天然活性化合物。

Rechargeable lithium/sodium-sulfur batteries working at room temperature(RT-li/S,RT-Na/S)appear to be a promising energy storage system in terms of high theoretical energy density,low cost,and abundant resources in *** are,thus,considered as highly attractive candidates for future application in energy storage ***,the solubility of sulfur species,sluggish kinetics of lithium/sodium sulfide compounds,and high reactivity of metallic anodes render these cells *** a consequence,metal-sulfur batteries present low reversible capacity and quick capacity loss,which hinder their practical *** to address these issues regarding S cathodes are critical to the increase of their performance and our fundamental understanding of RT-li/S and RT-Na/S battery ***-sulfur interactions,recently,have attracted considerable attention,and there have been new insights on pathways to high‐performance RT-li/Na sulfur batteries,due to the following factors:(1)deliberate construction of metal-sulfur interactions can enable a leap in capacity;(2)metal-sulfur interactions can confine S species,as well as sodium sulfide compounds,to stop shuttle effects;(3)traces of metal species can help to encapsulate a high loading mass of sulfur with high‐cost efficiency;and(4)metal components make electrodes more *** this review,we highlight the latest progress in sulfide immobilization via constructing metal bonding between various metals and S ***,we summarize the storage mechanisms of li/Na as well as the metal-sulfur interaction ***,the current challenges and future remedies in terms of intact confinement and optimization of the electrochemical performance of RT-li/Na sulfur systems are discussed in this review.

The Circular Electron Positron Collider(CEPC)is a large scientific project initiated and hosted by China,fostered through extensive collaboration with international *** complex comprises four accelerators:a 30 GeV linac,a 1.1 GeV Damping Ring,a Booster capable of achieving energies up to 180 GeV,and a Collider operating at varying energy modes(Z,W,H,and tt).The linac and Damping Ring are situated on the surface,while the subterranean Booster and Collider are housed in a 100 km circumference underground tunnel,strategically accommodating future expansion with provisions for a potential Super Proton Proton Collider(SPPC).The CEPC primarily serves as a Higgs *** its baseline design with synchrotron radiation(SR)power of 30 MW per beam,it can achieve a luminosity of 5×10^(34)cm^(-2)s^(-1)per interaction point(IP),resulting in an integrated luminosity of 13 ab^(-1)for two IPs over a decade,producing 2.6 million Higgs *** the SR power to 50 MW per beam expands the CEPC's capability to generate 4.3 million Higgs bosons,facilitating precise measurements of Higgs coupling at sub-percent levels,exceeding the precision expected from the HL-LHC by an order of *** Technical Design Report(TDR)follows the Preliminary Conceptual Design Report(Pre-CDR,2015)and the Conceptual Design Report(CDR,2018),comprehensively detailing the machine's layout,performance metrics,physical design and analysis,technical systems design,R&D and prototyping efforts,and associated civil engineering ***,it includes a cost estimate and a preliminary construction timeline,establishing a framework for forthcoming engineering design phase and site selection *** is anticipated to begin around 2027-2028,pending government approval,with an estimated duration of 8 *** commencement of experiments and data collection could potentially be initiated in the mid-2030s.
