Plasmonic tandem heterojunctions enable high-efficiency charge transfer for broad spectrum photocatalytic hydrogen production

Rational engineering of semiconductor photocatalysts for efficient hydrogen production is of great significance but still challenging,primarily due to the limitations in charge transfer ***,a fascinating plasmonic tandem heterojunction with the hc-CdS/Mo2C@C heterostructure is aimfully prepared for effectively promoting the charge separation kinetics of the CdS photocatalyst via the synergistic strategy of phase junction,Schottky junction,and photothermal *** difference in atomic configuration between cubic-CdS （c-CdS） and hexagonal-CdS （h-CdS） leads to effective charge separation through a typical Ⅱ charge transfer mechanism,and plasmonic Schottky junction further extracts the electrons in the hc-CdS phase junction to realize gradient charge ***,the photothermal effect of Mo2C@C helps to expand the light absorption,accelerate charge transfer kinetics,and reduce the hydrogen evolution energy *** carbon layer provides a fast channel for charge transfer and protects the photocatalyst from *** a result,the optimized hc-CMC photocatalyst exhibits a significantly high photocatalytic H2production activity of 28.63 mmol/g/h and apparent quantum efficiency of 61.8%,surpassing most of the reported *** study provides a feasible strategy to enhance the charge transfer kinetics and photocatalytic activity of CdS by constructing plasmonic tandem heterogeneous junctions.

Restudy on Dark Matter Time-Evolution in the Littlest Higgs Model with T-Parity

Following previous study, in the littlest Higgs model （LHM）, the heavy photon is supposed to be a possiL dark matter candidate and its relic abundance of the heavy photon is estimated in terms of the Boltzman- Lee-Weinba time-evolution equation. The effect of the T-parity violation is also considered. Our calculations show that when Higmass MH taken to be 300 GeV and do not considering T-parity violation, only two narrow ranges 133 〈 MAH 〈 135 Ge and 167 〈 MAH〈 169 GeV are tolerable with the current astrophysical observation and if 135 〈 MAH 〈 167 GeV there must at least exist another species of heavy particle contributing to the cold dark matter. As long as the T-pari; can be violated, the heavy photon can decay into regular standard model particles and would affect the dark matt abundance in the universe, we discuss the constraint on the T-parity violation parameter based on the present dat Direct detection prospects are also discussed in some detail.

NLO Corrections of H_(TC)Π~0 and Π^+Π^- Pair Production at ILC in TC2 Model

As well known, if the Higgs boson were not observed at LHC, the technicolor model would be the most favorable candidate responsible for the symmetry breaking. To overcome some defects in the previous model, some extended versions have been proposed. In the TC2 model typical signature is existence of heavy HTC and technipion ∏. A direct proof of validity of the model is to produce them at accelerator. Thus we study the production rates of e＋e^- → HTC∏^0 and e＋e^- → ∏＋∏- at ILC in the topcolor-assisted technicolor （TC2） model. In fact, there is a flood of models belonging to new physics, which can result in products with characteristics similar to HTC ＋ ∏ of the TC2 model. Therefore to distinguish this model from others one may need to investigate some details by calculating the cross section to NLO. We indeed find that the NLO corrections are significant, namely the ratio δ ≡（ σNLO - σLO）/σLO in e＋e- →HTC∏^0 exceeds 100% within a plausible parameter space.

Fabrication of multi-scale TiC and stainless steel composite coatings via circular oscillating laser towards superior wear and corrosion resistance of aluminum alloy

The poor wear and corrosion resistance of aluminum alloys has led to the easy failure of surface *** this work,composite coatings of TiC/martensitic stainless steel(TiC/MSS)on aluminum alloy are fabricated by a novel approach of circular oscillating laser for enhanced surface performance of alu-minum *** oscillation of laser leads to dense microstructure,and nano/micro scale TiC particles are formed *** structure of coatings transforms from dendritic to ring-like with the ad-dition of TiC,and the hardness of the substrate is increased by 4.5-7.8 *** main wear form of coatings is adhesive *** refinement of microstructure and formation of multi-scale TiC have given rise to an increase in the resistance of the coating to plastic deformation,which reduces the degree of adhesion and improves wear ***,the barrier effect of TiC particles to the electrolyte solu-tion in the passive film gives rise to the drop in corrosion current *** Cr-rich stacking faults can provide nucleation sites for the formation and growth of passive films with high continuity and stability,thereby improving the corrosion resistance of the *** superior anticorrosion and wear resis-tance properties of the composite coatings in this work have emphasized the merits of oscillating laser in fabricating high-performance coatings and would enlighten the design of more advanced composite coatings.

A Network Pharmacology-Based Study on Antidepressant Effect of Salicornia europaea *** with Experimental Support in Chronic Unpredictable Mild Stress Model Mice

Objective:To investigate the pharmacodynamic material basis,mechanism of actions and targeted diseases of Salicornia europaea L.(SE)based on the network pharmacology method,and to verify the antidepressant-like effect of the SE extract by pharmacological ***:Retrieval tools including Chinese medicine(CM),PubMed,PharmMapper,MAS 3.0 and Cytoscape were used to search the components of SE,predict its targets and related therapeutic diseases,and construct the"Component-TargetPathway"network of SE for central nervous system(CNS)***,protein-protein interaction(PPI)network,Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)and Gene Ontology(GO)function annotation of depression-related targets were analyzed to predict the antidepressant mechanism of *** unpredictable mild stress(CUMS)model was used to construct a mouse model with depression-like *** the animals were randomly divided into 6 groups(n=10)including the normal group(nonstressed mice administered with distilled water),the CUMS group(CUMS mice administered with distilled water),the venlafaxine group(CUMS mice administered with venlafaxine 9.38 mg/kg),SE high-,medium-,and low-dose groups(CUMS mice administered with SE 1.8,1.35 and 0.9 g/kg,respectively).Then some relevant indicators were determined for experimental verification by the forced swim test(FST),the tail suspension test(TST)and open-field test(OFT).Dopamine(DA)concentration in hippocampus and cerebral cortex,IL-2 and corticosterone(CORT)levels in blood,and nuclear factor E2 related factor 2(Nrf2),kelch-like epichlorohydrin related protein 1(Keap1),NAD(P)H dehydrogenase[quinone]1(NQO1)and heme oxygenase-1(HO-1)levels in mice were measured by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)and Western blot respectively to explore the possible ***:The"target-disease"network diagram predicted by network pharmacology,showed that the potential target of SE involves a variety of CNS diseases,among which depression ac

First synthesis of (±)-cedarmycin B

The synthesis of racemic cedannycin B, an antibiotic from Streptomyces sp. TP-A0456 was achieved firstly from γ- butyrolactone. The key step was a Barbier-type addition of 3-bromomethyl-5H-furan-2-one to formaldehyde mediated by zinc, which afforded the sole γ-addition product 4-hydroxymethyl-3-methylene-dihydrofuran-2-one. Relationships between tree-ring cell features of Pinus koraiensis and climate factors in the Changbai Mountains,Northeastern China

Anatomical characteristics have been proven useful for extracting climatic signals. To examine the climatic signals recorded by tree-ring cell features in the Changbai Mountains, we measured cell number and cell lumen diameter, in addition to ring widths, of Korean pine （Pinus koraiensis） tree rings at sites of varied elevation, and we developed chronologies of cell number （CN）, mean lumen diameter （MLD）, maximum lumen diameter （MAXLD） and tree-ring width （TRW）. The chronologies were correlated with climatic factors monthly mean tem- perature and the sum of precipitation. As shown by our analysis, the cell parameter chronologies were suitable for dendroclimatology studies. CN and TRW shared relatively similar climatic signals which differed from MLD and MAXLD, and growth-climate relationships were elevation- dependent, as shown by the following findings：（1） at each elevation, MLD and MAXLD recorded different monthly climatic signals from those recorded by TRW for the same climatic factors; and （2） MLD and MAXLD recorded cli- matic factors that were absent middle elevations. Crystal structure and some dynamic performances of Zi0.25V0.34Dy0.01Cr0.1Ni0.3 hydrogen storage electrode alloy have been investigated by XRD, FESEM-EDS, TEM and EIS measurements. The result shows that the alloy is mainly composed of V-based solid solution phase with body-centered-cubic structure and mono-crystal Ni3Ti phase with hexagonal structure （Space grope： P63/ mmc）, and it was first observed as TiNi-based secondary phase. The higher charge transfer resistance, higher apparent activation energy and lower hydrogen diffusion coefficient are reasons for the poor electrochemical activity of the dehydriding kinetics of Ti- V-Cr-Ni hydride alloy.

GW842166X Alleviates Osteoarthritis by Repressing LPS-mediated Chondrocyte Catabolism in Mice

Objective To explore the role and underlying mechanism of GW842166X on osteoarthritis and osteoarthritis-associated abnormal *** The extracted mouse chondrocytes were treated with GW842166X followed by lipopolysaccharide(LPS).The chondrocytes were divided into the control group,LPS group,LPS+50 nmol/L GW842166X group,and LPS+100 nmol/L GW842166X *** cytotoxicity of GW842166X was tested using the CCK-8 *** blot,RT-qPCR,and ELISA were applied to evaluate the expression of the inflammatory biomarkers in mouse *** expression of extracellular matrix molecules was detected by the Western blot,RT-qPCR,and ***,the activity of NF-κB was checked by the Western blot and *** mouse Hulth models were generated to examine the in vivo effects of GW842166X on *** and eosin staining,safranin O/fast green staining,and immunohistochemistry were applied to detect the histological *** GW842166X below 200µmol/L had no cytotoxicity on the mouse ***-induced high expression of TGF-β1,IL-10,TNF-α,and IL-6 was significantly reduced by *** addition,GW842166X upregulated the expression of aggrecan and collagen type III,which was downregulated after the LPS *** upregulated expression of ADAMTS-5 and MMP-13 by LPS stimulation was dropped in response to the GW842166X ***,LPS decreased the IκBαexpression in the cytoplasm and increased the nuclear p65 ***,these changes were reversed by the GW842166X ***,the damages in the knees caused by the Hulth surgery in mice were restored by *** GW842166X impeded the LPS-mediated catabolism in mouse chondrocytes,thereby inhibiting the progression of osteoarthritis.

Fabrication of stable MWCNT bucky paper for solar-driven interfacial evaporation by coupling c-ray irradiation with borate crosslinking

Herein,we report a facile solution process for preparing multi-walled carbon nanotube(MWCNT)bucky paper for solar-driven interfacial water *** process involves vacuum filtrating a dispersion of MWCNTs that was modified by polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)under c-ray irradiation on a cellulose acetate microporous membrane,followed by borate *** transform infrared spectroscopy,Raman spectroscopy,and thermogravimetry confirmed the success of PVA grafting onto MWCNTs and borate crosslinking between modified MWCNT *** as-prepared crosslinked MWCNT bucky papers(BBP membranes)were used as a solar absorber,by placing them on a paper-wrapped floating platform,for interfacial water evaporation under simulated solar *** BBP membranes showed good water tolerance and mechanical stability,with an evaporation rate of 0.79 kg m^(-2)h^(-1)and an evaporation efficiency of 56%under 1 sun illumination in deionized ***,the BBP membranes achieved an evaporation rate of 0.76 kg m^(-2)h^(-1)in both NaCl solution(3.5 wt%)and sulfuric acid solution(1 mol L-1),demonstrating their impressive applicability for water reclamation from brine and acidic *** evaporation rate of 0.70 kg m-2 h-1(very close to that from deionized water)was obtained from the solar evaporation of saturated NaCl solution,and the BBP membrane exhibited unexpected stability without the inference of salt accumulation on the membrane surface during long-term continuous solar evaporation.
