Contrast Enhancement Based Image Detection Using Edge Preserved Key Pixel Point Filtering

In existing methods for segmented images,either edge point extraction or preservation of edges,compromising contrast images is so sensitive to *** Degeneration Threshold Image Detection(DTID)framework has been proposed to improve the contrast of edge filtered ***,DTID uses a Rapid Bilateral Filtering process for filtering edges of contrast *** filter decomposes input images into base layers in the DTID *** minimal filtering time,Rapid Bilateral Filtering handles high dynamic contrast images for smoothening edge *** the DTID framework,Rapid Bilateral Filtering with Shift-Invariant Base Pass Domain Filter is insensitive to *** Shift-Invariant Filtering estimates value across edges for removing outliers(i.e.,noise preserving base layers of the contrast image).The intensity values are calculated in the base layer of the contrast image for accurately detecting nearby spatial locations using Shift-Invariant base Pass Domain Filter(SIDF).At last,Affine Planar Transformation is applied to detect edge filtered contrast images in the DTID framework for attaining a high quality of the *** normalizes the translation and rotation of *** this,Degeneration Threshold Image Detection maximizes average contrast enhancement quality and performs an experimental evaluation of factors such as detection accuracy,rate,and filtering time on contrast *** analysis shows that the DTID framework reduces the filtering time taken on contrast images by 54%and improves average contrast enhancement quality by 27%compared to GUMA,HMRF,SWT,and *** provides better performance on the enhancement of average contrast enhancement quality by 28%,detection accuracy rate by 26%,and reduction in filtering time taken on contrast images by 30%compared to state-of-art methods.

Alterations in hepatic metabolism of adult male rats following exposure to hydroxyprogesterone during embryonic development

Aim:To investigate the effect of in utero exposure to hydroxyprogesterone(HP)on liver metabolism in adult male albino ***:Pregnant Wistar strain albino rats were exposed to supra-normal levels(10 mg/kg and 25 mg/kg)of HP on days 1,7 and 14 of *** male pups were maintained under controlled conditions and the rats were killed 90 days after *** liver tissue was immediately excised,weighed and used for biochemical assays. Results:The activity levels of succinate dehydrogenase(SDH),glutamate dehydrogenase(GDH),glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase(G-6-PDH),malate dehydrogenase(MDH)and aminotransaminases were significantly increased in the livers of rats exposed to HP during embryonic *** lactate dehydrogenase(LDH)activity level was significantly decreased in the liver of experimental ***,there was a significant elevation of activity levels of antioxidant enzymes(glutathione S-transferase[GST] and catalase[CAT])with an increased lipid peroxidation in the hepatic tissue of experimental rats compared with the control ***:The results of the present study suggest that there is an increase in the oxidative metabolism,antioxidative mechanism and levels of lipid peroxidation in rats exposed to HP during embryonic *** increased aminotransaminase activities in these rats reveal tissue damage and disruption of mitochondrial integrity.(Asian J Androl 2006 Jul;8:463-467)

The paper focuses on measuring self-similarity using few techniques by an index called Hurst index which is a self-similarity parameter. It has been evident that Internet traffic exhibits self-similarity. Motivated by this fact, real time web users at various centers considered here as traffic and it has been examined by various methods to test the self-similarity. The results from the experiments carried out verify that the traffic examined in the present study is self similar using a new method based on some descriptive measures;for example percentiles have been applied to compute Hurst parameter which gives intensity of the self-similarity. Numerical results and analysis we discussed and presented here play a significant role to improve the services at web centers in the view of quality of service (QOS).

Bioaccumulation of cadmium in gills and muscles of shellifsh from Pulicat lake, Tamil Nadu, India

Objective:To evaluate the presence of heavy metal cadmium in six species of shellfish at Pulicat Lake, Tamil Nadu, India. Methods: Six species of shellfish,Fenneropenaeus indicus,Fenneropenaeus monodon, Fenneropenaeus semisulcatus,Scylla serrata,Clibanarius longitarsus and Meretrix casta (M. casta) in Pulicat lake, Tamil Nadu, India were analysed for the presence of cadmium in the gills and muscles from January 2011 to December 2012. Results:The results showed seasonal variations in the uptake of cadmium. Very high accumulation of cadmium was found in the gills and muscles ofM. casta during post monsoon, summer, premonsoon and monsoon. The corresponding values of cadmium present in the gills of M. casta were 1.59, 1.56, 1.48 and 1.46μg/g in 2011 and 1.16, 1.25, 1.15 and 1.14μg/g in 2012. Whereas for muscles, they were 1.14, 0.11, 0.96 and 0.80μg/g in 2011 and 0.49, 0.34, 1.05 and 1.20μg/g in 2012. Conclusion:The results of the present study has shown that the accumulation of cadmium found in the gills and muscles were high in M. casta when compared to other species of shellfish. Thus, the consumption of the shellfish is safe, but does not exclude bioaccumulation risk in their meat. This present study has highlighted the need for estuarine biomonitoring to avoid possible contamination of shellfish and its consumers. The overall scenario of the shellfish accumulating high levels of cadmium indicates that the Pulicat lake is polluted with undesirable elements and the risk of consuming the meat of shellfish by man and other carnivores may lead to their toxicity. Stringent control measures are necessary to control the pollution of this precious lake to reduce the bioaccumulation of toxic metals in organisms.

Antioxidant Activity and Phytochemical Screening of Crude Endophytes Extracts of <i>Tabebuia argentea</i>Bur. &K. Sch.

The aim of this study is to investigate in vitro antioxidant activities and the phytochemical screening endophytes. Seven different endophytic fungi were isolated from different parts of the plant and their extracts subjected to know antioxidant properties and phytochemical screening. Phytochemical analysis revealed the presence of tannins, flavonoids, steroids, alkaloids, phenols and proteins from different solvents extracts of different endophytes. The antioxidant activity was evaluated by six separated methods: scavenging of free radical DPPH, FRAP, TBA, superoxide radical, FTC and iron methods. All seven different endophytes yielded almost all phytochemicals in methanol extracts which were tested. The endophytes A. niger, Penicillium sp. and Trichoderma sp. have shown potential in vitro antioxidant activities. Further work is needful to isolate the exact compound which is responsible for antioxidant activity and biophysical characterization will be done in the future.
