Plant-based diet and its effect on coronary artery disease:A narrative review

Coronary artery disease(CAD),a primary component of cardiovascular diseases,is one of the top contributors to mortality rates *** 2021,dietary risk was estimated to be attributed to 6.58 million cardiovascular ***-based diets(PBDs),which encourage higher consumption of plant foods and lower intake of animal-based foods,have been shown to reduce the risk of CAD by up to 29% when compared to non-vegetarian diets in a *** article aims to summarize the array of PBDs and compare them with conventional Western diets that include *** review the various proposed mechanisms for how the bioactive nutrients of PBDs aid in preventing atherosclerosis and CAD events,as well as other cardiac *** conducted a detailed search of PubMed using our exclusive search strategy using the keywords plant-based diet,vegan diet,phytosterols,CAD,myocardial ischemia,and atherosclerosis.A total of 162 pertinent articles published within the past decade were identified for qualitative *** ensure the accuracy and reliability of our review,we included a total of 55 full-text,peer-reviewed articles that demonstrated the effects of plant-based diets on CAD and were written in *** excluded animal studies,in vitro or molecular studies,and non-original data like editorials,letters,protocols,and conference *** this article,we emphasize the importance of dietary interventions,such as PBDs,to prevent CAD and their benefits on environmental *** plant foods and whole grains into one's daily eating habits leads to an increase in the intake of nutrient-rich foods while reducing the consumption of processed food could not only prevent millions of premature deaths but also provide prevention against many chronic gastrointestinal and metabolic diseases.

BACKGROUND Pulmonary hypertension(PH)is a progressive disease characterized by endothelial dysfunction and vascular remodeling and is a leading cause of mortality *** it is independently associated with multiple comorbidities,the impact of diabetes mellitus(DM)on mortality in patients with PH remains *** address this issue,we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to investigate the effect of DM on survival in patients with pulmonary *** To investigate the impact of diabetes mellitus on mortality in pulmonary hypertension *** We conducted a comprehensive search of four major electronic bibliographic databases like PubMed,Google Scholar,Scopus,and Embase,and identified 106 relevant studies,out of 1561 articles,published since the year 2000 for full-text *** retrospective and prospective cohort studies that compared survival between patients with DM and those without DM in the context of PH were deemed eligible for inclusion in our *** study was registered on PROSPERO with the identifier *** A total of 116455 patients with PH were included in the meta-analysis,of whom 41228 suffered from DM and 75227 did *** results of our meta-analysis indicate an elevated mortality rate among PH patients with diabetes mellitus in comparison to those without DM[odds ratio(OR)=1.40,95%CI:1.15–1.70,P=0.0006].The metaregression analysis unveiled a statistically significant negative association between mean age and effect size(coefficient=-0.036,P value=0.018).Conversely,a statistically significant positive association was detected between female proportion and effect size(coefficient=0.000,P value<0.001).CONCLUSION Our meta-analysis,which included approximately 116500 PH patients,revealed that the presence of diabetes mellitus was associated with increased odds of mortality when compared to non-diabetic *** metaregression analysis indicates that studies with older partici

Parameters influencing the optical properties of SnS thin films

Tin sulphide （SnS） thin films have been recognized as a potential candidate for solar cells. Many fab- rication techniques have been used to grow SnS thin films. The band-gap, Eg of SnS films as reported in litera ture, were found to vary from 1.2-2.5 eV depending on the film fabrication technique. The present work reports the structural, compositional, morphological and optical characterization of SnS thin films fabricated by thermal evaporation at room temperature. Results show that for the given fabrication technique/condition, the band-gap functionally depends on the lattice parameter and grain size. The well-defined variation allows for tailoring SnS film as per requirements.

Variation of Small Scale Magnetic Fields Over a Century using Ca-K Images as Proxy

A combined uniform and long-time series of Ca-K images from the Kodaikanal Observatory,Mount Wilson Observatory and Mauna Loa Solar Observatory was used to identify and study the Ca-K small-scale features and their solar cycle variations over a *** small scale features are classified into three distinct categories:enhanced network,active network and quiet *** these features show that their areas vary according to the11 yr solar *** relative amplitude of the Ca-K network variations agrees with that of the sunspot *** total area of these small-scale features varies from about 5%during the minimum phase of the solar cycle to about20%during its maximum phase.

The present paper discusses the performance of ITO/PEDOT：PSS/n-SnS/A1 structured solar cells fab- ricated by thermal evaporation. The performance characterizing parameters such as the open circuit voltage, short circuit current density, series resistance, parallel resistance, ideality factor and the overall efficiency were found to be dependent on the SnS grain size in the nano-meter regime and incident light intensity. The experimental work directly reconfirms the theoretical results and ideas raised in the literature by early researchers.

Determination of the chromospheric quiet network element area index and its variation between 2008 and 2011

In general, it is believed that plages and sunspots are the main contribu- tors to solar irradiance. There are small-scale structures on the Sun with intermediate magnetic fields that could also contribute to solar irradiance, but it has not yet been quantified how many of these small scale structures contribute and how much this varies over the solar cycle. We used Ca II K images obtained from the telescope at the Kodaikanal observatory. We report a method to separate the network elements from the background structure and plage regions, and compute the changes in the network element area index during the minimum phase of the solar cycle and part of the as- cending phase of cycle 24. The measured area occupied by the network elements is about 30% and the plages cover less than 1% of the solar disk during the observation period from February 2008 to 2011. During the extended period of minimum activity, it is observed that the network element area index decreases by about 7% compared to the area occupied by the network elements in 2008. A long term study of the network element area index is required to understand the variations over the solar cycle.

Analysis of DC and analog/RF performance on Cyl-GAA-TFET using distinct device geometry

In this paper, analysis of DC and analog/RF performance on cylindrical gate-all-around tunnel fieldeffect transistor（TFET） has been made using distinct device geometry. Firstly, performance parameters of GAATFET are analyzed in terms of drain current, gate capacitances, transconductance, source-drain conductance at different radii and channel length. Furthermore, we also produce the geometrical analysis towards the optimized investigation of radio frequency parameters like cut-off frequency, maximum oscillation frequency and gain bandwidth product using a 3D technology computer-aided design ATLAS. Due to band-to-band tunneling based current mechanism unlike MOSFET, gate-bias dependence values as primary parameters of TFET differ. We also analyze that the maximum current occurs when radii of Si is around 8 nm due to high gate controllability over channel with reduced fringing effects and also there is no change in the current of TFET on varying its length from 100 to 40 *** current starts to increase when channel length is further reduced for 40 to 30 nm. Both of these trades-offs affect the RF performance of the device.
