Background:Diurnal changes can be defined as the time of the day over an individual's performance level for different activities that involve physical and mental ***:The current study aimed to evaluate the effect of diurnal changes in scores obtained for the Dichotic Consonant-Vowel paradigm by young adults with normal hearing ***:Based on the‘Morningness-Eveningness questionnaire’given by Horne&Ostberg,the subjects were divided into moderately-morning,intermediate and moderately-evening *** Dichotic Consonant-Vowel tests were performed during morning and evening,and the right ear,left ear and double correct scores were compared between morning and evening for each ***:There was significant diurnal changes noted for moderately morning and evening categories,where morning-type individuals performed better during morning and evening-type individuals performed better during the *** scores of intermediate individuals remained unchanged between morning and evening test ***:Diurnal change is a phenomenon associated with an individual's biological clock ***,attention and inhibitory controls aid them in carrying out tasks that require sufficient physical and mental *** current study suggests that clinicians and researchers consider diurnal changes as an extraneous variable that could affect the reliability of the Dichotic Consonant-Vowel test results.

Effects of six compounds with different chemical structures on melanogenesis

Several chemical compounds can restore pigmentation in vitiligo through mechanisms that vary according to disease *** the present study,we investigated the melanogenic activity of six structurally distinct compounds,namely,scopoletin,kaempferol,chrysin,vitamin D_3,piperine,and *** determined their effectiveness,toxicity,and mechanism of action for stimulating pigmentation in B16F10 melanoma cells and in a zebrafish *** melanogenic activity of 6-benzylaminopurine,the compound identified as the most potent,was further verified by measuring green fluorescent protein concentration in tyrp1 a:eGFP(tyrosinase-related protein 1)zebrafish and mitfa:eGFP(microphthalmia associated transcription factor)zebrafish and antioxidative *** the tested compounds were found to enhance melanogenesis responses both in vivo and in vitro at their respective optimal concentration by increasing melanin content and expression of TYR and MITF.6-Benzyamino-purine showed the strongest re-pigmentation action at a concentration of 20μmol·L^(-1 )in vivo and 100μmol·L^(-1) in vitro,and up-regulated the strong fluorescence expression of green fluorescent protein in tyrp1 a:e GFP and mitfa:e GFP zebrafish in ***,its relative anti-oxidative activity was found to be very ***,our results indicated that 6-benzylaminopurine stimulated pigmentation through a direct mechanism,by increasing melanin content via positive regulation of tyrosinase activity in vitro,as well as up-regulating the expression of the green fluorescent protein in transgenic zebrafish in vivo.

Validation of LittleEARS questionnaire in Hindi language

Background:Subjective measures of auditory development are equally important as objective measures to obtain a realistic image of the hearing status in infants and ***:The objectives of the current study were to translate and validate the LittleEARS questionnaire into the Hindi language,to calculate its psychometric properties and establish a regression curve of the scores obtained as a function of age,to calculate the inter-test and test retest reliability of the *** secondary objectives were to compare the scores obtained by the normal hearing children and those with hearing impairment and to plot a regression curve of total scores obtained by the hearing-impaired children as a function of the duration of auditory training attended since their first fit of the *** and methods:The procedures involved conventional translation,reverse translation,and content validation before administering the *** translated version was administered to parents of 59 children with normal hearing and 41 children with hearing ***:The finalized version had good reliability and efficient internal consistency with a Cronbach alpha value of *** mean scores obtained by the normal hearing children showed a progressive pattern as a function of ***:The LittleEARS questionnaire has been successfully translated and validated into the Hindi language with excellent validity and reliability and can be used for screening and early identification of hearing impairment and in evaluating the outcome of audiological treatment approaches.

Microstructure and mechanical properties of aluminium metal matrix composites with addition of bamboo leaf ash by stir casting method

Al-4.5%Cu alloy was used as a matrix at2%,4%and6%of bamboo leaf ash(BLA)which was extruded from agro waste and was used as *** composite which was fabricated by stir casting method possessed superior properties due to an effective bonding between matrix and reinforcement *** fabricated composite specimens were subjected to various tests to determine the mechanical properties such as density,porosity,hardness and tensile *** results were compared with basic matrix ***,the OM,SEM with EDAX and XRD analyses were carried out to analyze the dispersion of the reinforced particles in the selected matrix *** was observed that the homogeneous distribution of BLA particles in composites was intragranular in ***,it was also observed that BLA particles were well bonded with matrix alloy with clear *** was also found that the density decreased with increase in mass fraction of BLA particles and porosity increased with increase in mass fraction of BLA *** hardness and tensile strength were increased up to4%of BLA in the composite,with a further increase in BLA content the hardness and tensile strength decreased.

BACKGROUND Anaplasmosis is a tick-borne disease with a range of clinical manifestations,from a flu-like illness with fever and myalgias to a severe systemic disease with multisystem organ *** renal involvement is not a common presentation,there have been few cases reporting acute kidney injury from *** SUMMARY We present a 55-year-old female with anaplasmosis who developed acute kidney injury due to membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis(MPGN).The patient originally presented with cough and shortness of *** was admitted to the hospital with a diagnosis of community acquired pneumonia and received *** the hospital course she developed severe acute renal *** serological work up didn’t provide any conclusive ***,she underwent kidney biopsy which showed MPGN pattern suggesting autoimmune,multiple myeloma or infectious *** work up was undertaken which was negative for autoimmune diseases,vasculitis panel,paraproteinemias but tested positive for IgG anaplasma with high titers indicating *** Our case shows a unique presentation of severe acute renal failure from MPGN from tick borne *** is usually seen with autoimmune diseases,hepatitis C virus infections,***,we suggest that tick borne illness should also be considered when evaluating acute renal failure cases in tick borne prevalent regions.

Multi Class Brain Cancer Prediction System Empowered with BRISK Descriptor

Magnetic Resonance Imaging(MRI)is one of the important resources for identifying abnormalities in the human *** work proposes an effective Multi-Class Classiﬁcation(MCC)system using Binary Robust Invariant Scalable Keypoints(BRISK)as texture descriptors for effective classiﬁ***ﬁrst,the potential Region Of Interests(ROIs)are detected using features from the acceler-ated segment test ***,non-maxima suppression is employed in scale space based on the information in the *** discriminating power of BRISK is examined using three machine learning classiﬁers such as k-Nearest Neighbour(kNN),Support Vector Machine(SVM)and Random Forest(RF).An MCC sys-tem is developed which classiﬁes the MRI images into normal,glioma,meningio-ma and pituitary.A total of 3264 MRI brain images are employed in this study to evaluate the proposed MCC *** show that the average accuracy of the proposed MCC-RF based system is 99.62%with a sensitivity of 99.16%and spe-ciﬁcity of 99.75%.The average accuracy of the MCC-kNN system is 93.65%and 97.59%by the MCC-SVM based system.
