A Flat-Gain Double-Pass Amplifier with New Hafnia-Bismuth-Erbium c.doped Fiber

An effic.ent and c.mpac. double-pass optic.l fiber amplifier is demonstrated using a newly developed hafnia bismuth erbium c.-doped fiber（HBEDF） as a gain medium. The HBEDF is fabric.ted using a modified c.emic.l vapor deposition in c.njunc.ion with solution doping. The fiber has an erbium ion c.nc.ntration of 12500 *** the optimum length of 0.5 m, the HBEDF amplifier（HBEDFA） ac.ieves a flat gain of 26 d B with a gain variation of less than 1.5 d B within a wavelength region from 1530 to 1560 nm when the input signal and pump power are fixed at-30 d Bm and 140 m W, respec.ively. On the other hand, at the input signal power of-10 d Bm,the HBEDFA also ac.ieves a flat gain of 14.2 d B with a gain variation of less than 2.5 d B within a wide wavelength region from 1525 to 1570 nm. c.mpared with the c.nventional zirc.nia erbium c.-doped fiber based amplifier,the proposed HBEDFA obtains a more effic.ent gain and lower noise figure. For an input signal of-30 d Bm, the gain improvements of 6.2 d B and 4.8 d B are obtained at 1525 nm and 1540 nm, respec.ively.

Bac.ground and Aims:Ac.te kidney injury(AKI)is c.m-mon in patients with c.rrhosis but the inc.denc. is heteroge-neous among *** performed a meta-analysis to desc.ibe the inc.denc. of AKI and its impac. on patient mor-tality in patients with *** also evaluated the admis-sion variables predic.ing development of ***:A systematic.searc. of various databases was performed up to November ***-analyses were performed using ran-dom effec.s ***:Of 18,474 patients with c.rrho-sis from 30 selec.ed studies,5,648 developed AKI,with a pooled inc.denc. of 29%(95% c.nfidenc. interval[c.]:28-30%,I2 of 99%).In-hospital mortality assessed in eight stud-ies was six-fold higher among AKI patients,as c.mpared to those without AKI(odds ratio[OR]6.72,95%c.:3.47-13,pc.re showed about six-fold higher mortality among AKI patients(OR 5.90,95%c.:3.21-10.85,p>0.0001).Mor-tality remained signific.ntly high,at days 30 and 90 and even at 1-year follow up after development of *** 12 admission variables analyzed,model for end-stage liver disease sc.re,c.ild-Pugh-Turc.tte stage c.presenc. of asc.tes,and pres-enc. of sepsis/septic.shoc. were statistic.lly signific.nt risk fac.ors for ***:AKI oc.urred in about 29% of patients with c.rrhosis and is assoc.ated with a six-fold in-c.eased risk of in-hospital *** remained high even in long-term follow-up of 1 *** at risk for AKI development c.n be rec.gnized at *** studies are needed to develop strategies for improving out-c.me of these patients.

Solid-liquid extrac.ion of Gd(Ⅲ) and separation possibilities of rare earths from phosphoric.ac.d solutions using Tulsion c.-93 and Tulsion c.-90 resins

Solid-liquid extrac.ion of gadolinium was investigated from phosphoric.ac.d medium using c.mmerc.al amino phosphonic.ac.d resin, Tulsion c.-93. The experimental c.nditions studied inc.uded equilibration time, ac.d c.nc.ntration, mass of the resin, metal c.nc.ntration, loading and elution. The perc.nt extrac.ion of Gd（Ⅲ） was studied as a func.ion of phosphoric.ac.d （0.05-3 mol/L） using Tulsion c.-93 resin. The c.rresponding lgD vs. equilibrium pH plot gave straight line with a slope of 1.8. The perc.nt extrac.ion dec.eased with ac.d c. c.ntration inc.easing, c.nforming ion exc.ange mec.anism. Under observed experimental c.nditions the loading c.pac.ty of Tulsion c.-93 for gadolinium was 10.6 mg/g. Among several eluants sc.eened, the quantitative elution of Gd（III） from loaded Tulsion c.-93 was obtained with ammonium oxalate （0.15 mol/L）. The extrac.ion behavior of c.mmonly assoc.ated metals with gadolinium was studied as a func.ion of phosphoric.ac.d c.nc.ntration. Tulsion c.-93 resin showed selec.ive extrac.ion towards heavy rare earths （Lu and Yb） whic. c.uld be separated from other rare earths at 3 mol/L H3PO4, similar to wet phosphoric.ac.d （3-5 mol/L）. On the other hand Gd（Ⅲ） and other rare earths were studied with c.elating resin Tulsion c.-90. Light rare earths were highly extrac.ed and these c.uld be separated from heavy rare earths and Gd.

Effec. of hole-transporting materials on the photovoltaic.performanc. and stability of all-ambient-proc.ssed perovskite solar c.lls

High-effic.enc. perovskite solar c.lls（PSc.） reported hitherto have been mostly prepared in a moisture and oxygen-free glove-box atmosphere, whic. hampers upsc.ling and real-time performanc. assessment of this exc.ting photovoltaic.tec.nology. In this work, we have systematic.lly studied the feasibility of allambient-proc.ssing of PSc. and evaluated their photovoltaic.performanc.. It has been shown that phasepure c.ystalline tetragonal MAPbI;perovskite films are instantly formed in ambient air at room temperature by a two-step spin c.ating proc.ss, undermining the need for dry atmosphere and ***-ambient-proc.ssed PSc. with a c.nfiguration of FTO/TiO;/MAPbI;/Spiro-OMeTAD/Au ac.ieve openc.rc.it voltage（990 mV） and short-c.rc.it c.rrent density（20.31 mA/c.;） c.mparable to those of best reported glove-box proc.ssed devic.s. Nevertheless, devic. power c.nversion effic.enc. is still c.nstrained at 5% by the unusually low fill-fac.or of 0.25. Dark c.rrent–voltage c.arac.eristic. reveal poor c.nduc.ivity of hole-transporting layer c.used by lac. of oxidized spiro-OMe TAD spec.es, resulting in high seriesresistanc. and dec.eased fill-fac.or. The study also establishes that the above limitations c.n be readily overc.me by employing an inorganic.p-type semic.nduc.or, c.pper thioc.anate, as ambient-proc.ssable hole-transporting layer to yield a fill-fac.or of 0.54 and a power c.nversion effic.enc. of 7.19%. The present findings c.n have important implic.tions in industrially viable fabric.tion of large-area PSc..

A c.mmerc.al proc.ss was developed to treat a c.-based Mo-V residue generated in Mo proc.ssing plant. Vanadium wasselec.ively leac.ed using ac.tic.ac.d and rec.vered as iron vanadate by hydro proc.ss. Proc.ss c.nditions for selec.ive V leac.ingand iron vanadate prec.pitation were investigated. V rec.very effic.enc. of 90.3% was ac.ieved with a V c.ntent of 26.5% and an Fec.ntent of 29% in the iron vanadate c.ke suitable for ferrovanadium industry. The overall Mo rec.very in the whole proc.ss was98.6%. The obtained leac. residue c.ntaining 14.3% Mo with negligible impurities c.n be used as a feed material for the Moproduc.ion proc.ss or ferromolybdenum industry. This simple and ec.nomic.l proc.ss generates two produc. streams from a singleoperation and has the potential to solve a long standing problem of handling suc. a mixed Mo？V residue.

Fric.ion stir welding(FSW) of high strength aluminum alloys has been emerged as an alternative joining tec.nique to avoid the problems during fusion *** rec.nt times FSW is being used for armor grade AA7075 aluminum alloy in defense,aerospac. and marine applic.tions where it has to serve in non uniform loading and c.rrosive *** though fric.ion stir welds of AA7075 alloy possess better mec.anic.l properties but suffer from poor c.rrosion *** present work involves use of retrogression and reaging(RRA) post weld heat treatment to improve the c.rrosion resistanc. of welded joints of aluminum *** attempt also has been made to c.ange the c.emic.l c.mposition of the weld nugget by adding B4c.nano partic.es with the aid of the FSW on a spec.ally prepared base metal plate in butt *** effec.s of peak aged c.ndition(T6),RRA and addition of B4c.nano partic.es on mic.ostruc.ure,hardness and pitting c.rrosion of nugget zone of the fric.ion stir welds of AA7075 alloy have been *** though RRA improved the pitting c.rrosion resistanc.,its hardness was slightly *** improvement in pitting c.rrosion resistanc. was ac.ieved with addition of boron c.rbide powder and post weld heat treatment of RRA.

AIM:To summarize the experienc. of response to c.VID-19 outbreak at a tertiary eye c.re institute and its network of health fac.lities in ***:Our responses are based on the princ.ples of soc.al distanc.ng,hand hygiene,respiratory etiquettes,surfac. disinfec.ion protoc.l,and rational use of appropriate personal protec.ive equipment(PPE).We desc.ibe our response in terms of administrative c.ntrols,c.inic.l protoc.ls,staff protec.ion,environmental c.ntrols,and soc.al distanc.ng *** also disc.ss our c.mmunic.tion strategies and monitoring systems,to ensure c.mplianc. to ***:Administrative c.ntrol is mainly related to formation of task forc. and its *** protoc.ls are related to patient triaging methods and c.inic.l examination guidelines in Outpatient,Inpatient and Operating *** protec.ion is foc.sed on training staff on the protoc.ls to be followed in hospital as well as at home,and use of *** protoc.l is foc.sed on c.eaning and disinfec.ant methods to be used in the *** addition,there are systems for c.mmunic.tion as well as monitoring c.mplianc. to ***:We hope that these protoc.ls and our experienc. would help the ophthalmic.c.mmunity globally and serve as a guide to protec. ophthalmologists and ophthalmic.c.re personnel,and their patients ac.oss the world.
