Experimental Study of Perfectly Patterned Silica-Titania Optical Waveguide

Inorganic silica-titania thin films with thicknesses 150 nm-200 nm are deposited on high purity and polished silicon wafer and silica glass substrates by sol-gel dipping process and are patterned by capillary force lithography technique. Subsequently grating structure is embossed in green stage. The patterned gel films are subjected to stepwise heat treatment to 500 ℃ and above in pure oxygen atmosphere in order to achieve major conversion of mixed-gel to oxide optical films which are characterized by Ellipsometry, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy （FTIR） and atomic force microscopy （AFM） to optimize the fabrication parameters and to get perfectly matched film. Removal of organics and formation of perfectly inorganic silica-titania network at optimized heat treatment in controlled environment are ensured by FTIR spectral study. The difference in refractive indices between the substrate and coated film as developed waveguides for operating wavelength show the planar waveguide behavior of the films. calculated theoretically matches exactly with the （632.8 nm） and the measured optical properties

The effect of La^(3+)and Nd^(3+)on piezoelectric,dielectric and ferroelectric properties of PZT(Pb(Zr_(0.53)Ti_(0.47))O_(3))was *** powders were prepared by“wet-chemical”route followed by calcination at 800℃for 4 *** analysis of the calcined powders confirms the tetragonal phase in the undoped PZT,which gradually decreases with the dopant concentration and the appearance of rhombohedral phase *** study of sintered pellets reveals the decrease in grain size with the increase in dopant concentration beyond 0.02 mol Nd^(3+)and 0.03 mol La^(3+)*** piezoelectric constant(d_(33))and dielectric properties were maximum for 0.02 mol Nd^(3+)and 0.03 mol La^(3+)*** remnant polarization of La^(3+)-doped sample was higher than Nd^(3+)-doped sample,and the sample with combined dopants shows intermediate remnant polarization(P_(r)).Based on the above study,it is concluded that La^(3+)is more effective than Nd^(3+),including in a mixture of La^(3+)and Nd^(3+)dopants.

Manganese tetroxide(Mn_(3)O_(4))nanofibers were prepared by electrospinning homogeneous viscous solution of 20 wt%,28 wt%and 36 wt%manganese acetate in poly vinyl alcohol(PVA)and calcining the nanofibers at 1000℃for 2 *** was carried out at 9 kV DC with tip to collector distance(TCD)of 7 *** gravimetric analysis(TGA)of the fibers indicates the pure phase of manganese oxide above 500℃.XRD analysis of calcined(at 1000℃)nanofibers indicates the formation of phase-pure tetragonal Mn_(3)O_(4).Scanning electron microscopy(SEM)studies show the fibers cylindrical with the diameters in the range of 100-600 nm and aspect ratio>*** general,the average diameter of the green fibers decreases with the increase in manganese acetate *** diameter of calcined nanofibers is reduced by 34%.

The quantification of phosphorus(P) in bulk soil and P distribution in different size fractions of water-stable aggregates(WSAs)are important for assessing potential P loss through runoff. We evaluated available and total P distribution within WSAs of a sitty clay to clay soil in a long-term fertility experiment of a rice-wheat cropping system in India. Surface soil samples were collected from seven plots amended with NPK fertilizers in combination with or without organic amendments, farmyard manure(FYM), green manure(GM), and paddy straw(PS). The plot with no NPK fertilizers or organic amendments was set as a control. The soil samples were separated by wet sieving into four soil aggregate size fractions: large macroaggregates(> 2.0 mm), small macroaggregates(0.25–2.0 mm), fine microaggregates(0.05–0.25 mm), and a silt + clay-sized fraction( small macroaggregates > fine microaggregates> large macroaggregates. Within a size class, aggregate-associated available and total P contents in the organically amended soil were in the following order: FYM > PS ≥ GM. The available P content of the microaggregates( 0.25 mm), and the total P content of the microaggregates was 4-to 5-times higher than that of the macroaggregates. Metal oxide resistive gas sensors suffer from poor selectivity that restricts their practical *** sensor arrays are used to improve selectivity which increased the system ***,we have proposed a novel NiO/ZnO-based p–n junction single-diode device for selective sensing of several volatile organic compounds(VOCs)simultaneously by tuning bias *** operating voltage was varied between 3 and 5 volts to achieve selective sensing of 2-propanol(19.1 times for 95ppm with response and recovery times of 70 s and 55s respectively‚at 3 volts),toluene(20.1 times for 95 ppm with response and recovery times of 100 s and 60 s respectively,at 4 volts),and formaldehyde(11.2 times for 95 ppm with response and recovery times of 88 s and 54s respectively,at 5 volts).A probable mechanism of the tunable selectivity with operating bias voltage due to increase in surface carriers with increasing voltage was hence put ***,this device may play an important role to develop future selective multiple VOC sensor thereby replacing standard sensor arrays.

Roadways in developing countries usually carry heterogeneous traffic where on-street bi- cyclists encounter a very complex interaction with various categories of vehicles. In order to quantify the operational conditions of bicyclists under such conditions, a reliable bicycle level of service （BLOS） model is yet to be devised. This study intends to partially fill this gap by proposing a BLOS model suitable for urban road segments in mid-sized cities carrying heterogeneous traffic. A recently introduced artificial intelligence technique namely, associativity functional network （FN） is implemented for the development of this model. FN is a problem-driven approach that overcomes several limitations of the artificial neural network （ANN） technique. The urban bicycling environments persisting on 74 street seg- ments are analyzed, and 8 influencing variables （geometric, traffic and built environ- mental, etc.） are identified. Of these variables, interruptions caused by frequent stoppages of intermittent public transits and frequency of driveways carrying high volume of traffic are newly introduced. In the modeling process, a strong relationship has been established between the identified variables and perceived BLOS scores collected through perception surveys. The resulting BLOS model has shown a high reliability for its applications in the mid-sized cities and has reported a high correlation coefficient （R） of 0.94 with the average observations. Besides, a sensitivity analysis is also carried out to identify the relative importance of input variables based on their contribution in the BLOS estimation. As observed, effective width of the outside lane, traffic volume, and on-street parking activity are by far the most important variables, which contribute 38.3%, 21.8%, and 12.7%respectively in the prediction of facility BLOS. Thus, these three attributes should be largely prioritized while making any plan of actions for the betterment of bicyclists.

The propagation and interaction between ion acoustic multi-solitons in an unmagnetized multicomponent plasma consisting of fluid hot ions, positrons and both hot and cold electrons, are investigated by employing the extended Poincare–Lighthill–Kuo（PLK） method. Two different Kortewege-de Vries（K-dV） equations are derived. The Hirota＇s method is applied to get the K-dV multi-solitons solution. The phase shift due to the overtaking and head- on collision of the multi-solitons is obtained.

This study investigated an economic order quantity (EOQ) model with completebackorder for fixed lifetime perishable items under multiple advance and delayedpayments policies. Here, a new type of business policy is consideredwhere supplieroffers the retailer to pay a fraction of the purchasing cost before the order deliverybymultiple equal installments starting from the ordering time and the rest amountafter the delivery by multiple equal installments. Here, some theoretical results areillustrated to determine the conditions of existence and uniqueness of the optimalsolutions. A closed form solution is determined to solve the proposed model underapproximation. Some numerical examples are provided to examine the validity ofthe proposed model. Finally, sensitivity analyses are presented to obtain the effectof optimal policy and provide some managerial insights of the model.

This review aims to fill the voids and to update the checklist of sandfly fauna along with its spatial distribution in *** databases *** online or offline were searched to deduce the information to systematize the Indian sandfly ***/data retrieved were screened and analysed to further update the available latest *** species name and authorship were given in accord with the International Code for Zoological *** compiled an updated checklist of reported Indian sandfly species along with their state-wise distribution till 2022 as per published *** has maximum number of species reports when compared to other endemic states and states with pockets of *** argentipes is the most widely distributed,recorded so far,followed by other Sergentomiya and Phlebotomus species in *** this review,we have also described the vector and non-vector species of sandfly prevalent in different parts of the *** eoindianensis,an amber fossil sandfly species recorded from Gujarat might be older than other records of Indian sandfly *** far 69 species(4 genera and 15 subgenera/groups)of Phlebotomine sandflies have been recorded in *** knowledge of species diversity and its distribution is a prerequisite for planning a systematic vector control strategy and disease management.
