Cemented paste backfill(CPB)and rock interface interaction causes the formation of an interfacial loading and affects the thermal,hydraulic,mechanical,and chemical processes in bulk CPB and thus its in-situ *** this study,a new meter-sized column model is developed to systematically investigate the multiphysics processes in CPB under interfacial *** obtained results discover that for the mechanical process,the interfacial loading leads to a reduced settlement and a weakened stress level in *** the hydraulic process,lower matric suction and smaller moisture content coexist in CPB under interfacial *** the thermal process,the interfacial loading weakens the porosity-dependent thermal conduction and causes retardation in temperature variation relative to the ambient *** the chemical process,weakened cement hydration with smaller electrical conductivity was observed in CPB under interfacial ***,the obtained results reveal the linkage between the interfacial loading and multiphysics processes in CPB and thus contribute to an in-depth understanding of the multiphysics behavior of CPB in underground mines.

Various Wireless Sensor Network(WSN)applications require the common task of collecting the data from the sensor nodes using the *** the procedure of collecting data is iterative,an effective technique is necessary to obtain the data efficiently by reducing the consumption of nodal ***,a technique for data reduction in WSN is presented in this paper by proposing a prediction algorithm,called Hierarchical Fractional Bidirectional Least-Mean Square(HFBLMS)*** novel algorithm is designed by modifying Hierarchical Least-Mean Square(HLMS)algorithm with the inclusion of BLMS for bidirectional-based data prediction and Fractional Calculus(FC)in the weight update *** redundancy is achieved by transmitting only those data required based on the data predicted at the sensor node and the ***,the proposed HFBLMS algorithm reduces the energy consumption in the network by the effective prediction attained by *** metrics,such as energy consumption and prediction error,are used for the evaluation of performance of the HFBLMS prediction algorithm,where it can attain energy values of 0.3587 and 0.1953 at the maximum number of rounds and prediction errors of just 0.0213 and 0.0095,using air quality and localization datasets,respectively.

Sulfamic acid（SA） is a bi-functional, cost-effective and reusable green catalyst for the synthesis of 4-（pyrazol-4-yl）methylenepyrazol-5（4H）-one derivatives by one-pot, three-component condensation of pyrazol-4-carbaxaldehydes, b-ketoesters and phenyl hydrazine（Route-I）. In addition to this method,another simple condensation of pyrazol-4-carbaxaldehydes with pyrazolone in the presence of SA under the solvent-free condition in good yield is reported. The merits of these protocols are mild conditions,non-aqueous workup, high yields, easy availability of the catalyst, no chromatographic separation and inexpensive solid acid catalyst. Furthermore, SA could be recycled and reused for five times without losing its catalytic activity.

Mesoporous carbon adsorbents from melamine–formaldehyde resin using nanocasting technique for CO_2 adsorption

Mesoporous carbon adsorbents, having high nitrogen content, were synthesized via nanocasting technique with melamine-formaldehyde resin as precursor and mesoporous silica as template. A series of adsorbents were prepared by varying the carbonization temperature from 400 to 700°C. Adsorbents were characterized thoroughly by nitrogen sorption, X-ray diffraction（XRD）, scanning electron microscopy（SEM）, transmission electron microscopy（TEM）, thermogravimetric analysis（TGA）, elemental（CHN） analysis, Fourier transform infrared（FTIR） spectroscopy and Boehm titration. Carbonization temperature controlled the properties of the synthesized adsorbents ranging from surface area to their nitrogen content, which play major role in their application as adsorbents for CO2 *** nanostructure of these materials was confirmed by XRD and TEM. Their nitrogen content decreased with an increase in carbonization temperature while other properties like surface area, pore volume, thermal stability and surface basicity increased with the carbonization temperature. These materials were evaluated for CO2 adsorption by fixed-bed column adsorption experiments. Adsorbent synthesized at 700°C was found to have the highest surface area and surface basicity along with maximum CO2 adsorption capacity among the synthesized adsorbents. Breakthrough time and CO2 equilibrium adsorption capacity were investigated from the breakthrough curves and were found to decrease with increase in adsorption temperature. Adsorption process for carbon adsorbent-CO2 system was found to be reversible with stable adsorption capacity over four consecutive adsorption-desorption cycles. From three isotherm models used to analyze the equilibrium data, Temkin isotherm model presented a nearly perfect fit implying the heterogeneous adsorbent surface.

Technological advancement in the field of trans- portation and communication has been happening at a faster pace in the past few decades. As the demand for high-speed transportation increases, the need for an improved seamless communication system to handle higher data traffic in a highly mobile environment becomes imperative. This paper proposes a novel scheme to enhance the quality of service in high-speed railway （HSR） communication environment using the concept of torch nodes （TNs） and adaptive measurement aggregation （AMA）. The system was modeled using an object-oriented discrete event sim- ulator, and the performance was analyzed against the existing single-antenna scheme. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme with its minimal imple- mentation overhead can efficiently perform seamless han- dover with reduced handover failure and communication interruption probability.

Curtobacterium luteum, a gram-positive psychrotrophic bacterium, secreting an extracellular protease was isolated from the soil of Gangotri glacier, Western Himalaya. The maximum enzyme production was achieved when isolate was grown in a pH-neutral medium containing skim milk at 15oC over 120 hour. The metal ions such as Zn2+ and Cr2+ enhanced enzyme production. The specific activity of purified enzyme was 8090 u/mg after 34.1 fold purification. The 115 kD enzyme was a metalloprotease (activity inhibited by EDTA and EGTA) and showed maximum activity at 20oC and pH 7. The enzyme was active over a broad pH range and retained 84% of its original activity between pH 6–8. There was no loss in enzyme activity when exposed for 3 hours at 4oC-20oC. However, lost 65% of activity at 30oC, and was almost inactivated at 50oC, but was resistant to repeated freezing and thawing. The enzyme activity was stimulated by manganese ions; however, it was inactivated by copper ions.

In the present letter, an efficient, clean and one-pot synthesis of 2-substituted benzimidazole and 1,2-disubstituted benzimidazole derivatives has been explored by reacting o-phenylenediamine with aromatic aldehydes using bismuth nitrate as a catalyst in ethanol at ambient temperature. This methodology avails with faster reactions, excellent yield, mild reaction conditions, use of inexpensive and non-toxic catalyst compared to literature reported hitherto.
