Increased nighttime respiratory losses decrease the amount of photoassimilates available for plant growth and yield. We hypothesized that the increased respiratory carbon loss under high night temperatures(HNT) could be compensated for by increased photosynthesis during the day following HNT exposure. Two rice genotypes, Vandana(HNT-sensitive) and Nagina 22(HNT-tolerant), were exposed to HNT(4 ℃ above the control) from flowering to physiological maturity. They were assessed for alterations in the carbon balance of the source(flag leaf) and its subsequent impact on grain filling dynamics and the quality of spatially differentiated sinks(superior and inferior spikelets). Both genotypes exhibited significantly higher night respiration rates. However, only Nagina 22 compensated for the high respiration rates with an increased photosynthetic rate, resulting in a steady production of total dry matter under HNT. Nagina 22 also recorded a higher grain-filling rate, particularly at 5 and 10 d after flowering, with 1.5- and 4.0-fold increases in the translocation of ^(14)C sugars to the superior and inferior spikelets, respectively. The ratio of photosynthetic rate to respiratory rate on a leaf area basis was negatively correlated with spikelet sterility, resulting in a higher filled spikelet number and grain weight per plant, particularly for inferior grains in Nagina 22. Grain quality parameters such as head rice recovery, high-density grains, and gelatinization temperature were maintained in Nagina 22. An increase in the rheological properties of rice flour starch in Nagina 22 under HNT indicated the stability of starch and its ability to reorganize during the cooling process of product formation. Thus, our study showed that sink adjustments between superior and inferior spikelets favored the growth of inferior spikelets, which helped to offset the reduction in grain weight under HNT in the tolerant genotype Nagina 22.

Paleoproterozoic Bijawars of the Sonrai basin consists of(a) Sonrai(mostly carbonate carbonaceous shale and phosphatic breccia) and(b) Solda Formations(commonly chloritic and ferruginous shale) with well-developed clay-organo-rich facies,often marked with hydrothermal *** studies revealed abundance order of kaolinite> chlorite> illite> smectite;and kaolinite> illite> chlorite in clay(0.2-2.0 μm) fractions separated from the Sonrai and Solda Formations,*** understand atomic substitutions and trace elemental concentrations,clay minerals were analyzed by fusion ICPMS and *** normalized data plots show U,Th,Rb,Ba,Pb Sr,and large-ion lithophiles enrichment,whereas,Bandai sandstone and Rohini carbonate clays show HREE enrichment with asymmetrical patterns,similar to those reported from the well-established McArthur River,Cigar Lake,and Sue UTUD of *** Rohni carbonate,chondrite-normalized REE data plots revealed M shape REE patterns,ascribed to Gd-Tb-Dy-Ho tetrad effect and anomalous Y,Zr,and Hf *** to HREE incorporation in the clay inter-layers,linear and flattened REE trends were *** REE patterns associated with the highly altered chlorite and illite represent negative Eu anomaly related to the dilational nature of the uraninite structure and is suggestive of anoxic conditions.

Effects of in ovo delivered xylo-and mannan-oligosaccharides on growth performance,intestinal immunity,cecal short-chain fatty acids,and cecal microbiota of broilers

Novel CMS lines in pigeonpea[Cajanus cajan(L.)Millspaugh]derived from cytoplasmic substitutions,and their effective restoration and deployment in hybrid breeding

The availability of stable cytoplasmic male sterile(CMS or A) lines coupled with a robust restoration system(R lines) is an essential prerequisite for efficient hybrid ***-enabled hybrid technology holds immense potential to enhance the long-stagnant productivity of pigeonpea. In the present investigation, cytoplasmic substitutions were made in the nuclear backgrounds of early-maturing pigeonpea varieties or lines. Three new CMS lines(ICPL 88039 A, Pusa 992 A, and DPP 3-2A) resulted from genetic crosses involving cytoplasmic donors from A2(GT 288A) and A4(ICPA 2089) categories. In addition to visual inspection of anthers, pollen-staining techniques and scanning electron microscopy(SEM)analysis were used to confirm pollen sterility. Further, given the relevance of the plant mitochondrial genome to CMS manifestation, 25 mitochondrion-specific DNA markers were assayed on these newly developed A lines and isogenic maintainer(B) lines. DNA polymorphism between Pusa 992 A and Pusa 992 B as revealed by the nad7a_del marker confirmed the successful combination of sterilizing cytoplasm(A4) and nonrestoring nuclear background(Pusa 992). Such cytoplasm-specific DNA markers are required for A2-CMS as well. Further, to assess restoration ability, potential restorers were crossed with these CMS lines, and as a consequence, promising A × R combinations exhibiting 100%pollen fertility could be identified. In parallel, we also analyzed the inheritance patterns underlying fertility restoration using ICPL 88039A-derived F2 and BC1F1populations,and established a monogenic dominant model to explain the phenomenon of A2-CMS restoration. In summary, we report the successful development of new CMS lines and describe their effective deployment in hybrid breeding of pigeonpea.

Crop models are widely used to predict plant growth,water input requirements,and ***,existing models are very complex and require hundreds of variables to perform *** to these shortcomings,large-scale applications of crop models are *** order to address these limitations,reliable crop models were developed using a deep neural network(DNN)–a new approach for predicting crop *** addition,the number of required input variables was reduced using three common variable selection techniques:namely Bayesian variable selection,Spearman's rank correlation,and Principal Component Analysis Feature *** reduced-variableDNN modelswere capable of estimating future crop yields for 10,000,000 differentweather and irrigation scenarios while maintaining comparable accuracy levels to the original model that used all input *** establish clear superiority of the methodology,the results were also compared with a very recent feature selection algorithm called min-redundancy max-relevance(mRMR).The results of this study showed that the Bayesian variable selection was the best method for achieving the aforementioned ***,the final Bayesian-based DNN model with a structure of 10 neurons in 5 layers performed very similarly(78.6%accuracy)to the original DNN cropmodel with 400 neurons in 10 layers,even though the size of the neural network was reduced by *** effort can help promote sustainable agricultural intensifications through the large-scale application of crop models.

Dynamic Promotional Resource Allocation for Segment Specific and Spectrum Effect of Promotion for a Product Line Incorporating Repeat Purchase Behavior

Promotion is an essential element in the marketing mix. It is used by businesses to inform, influence and persuade customers to adopt the products and services they offer. Without promotion, business would be stagnant and lack substantial growth because the brands would have low visibility in the market. Moreover, today’s vast and assorted markets comprise of customers with different needs and varied behavior. So it is rarely possible for companies to satisfy all customers by treating them alike. Thus there arises a need to divide the market into segments having customers with similar traits/characteristics. After identifying appropriate market segments, firms can design differentiated promotional campaigns for each segment. At the same time there can be a mass market promotional campaign that reaches different segments with a fixed spectrum. Also since promotional effort resources are limited, one must use them judiciously. In this paper, we formulate mathematical programming problem under repeat purchase scenario, which optimally allocates mass promotional effort resources and differentiated promotional effort resources across the segments dynamically in order to maximize the overall sales obtained from multiple products of a product line under budgetary and minimum sales aspiration level constraint on each product under consideration in each segment. The planning horizon is divided into multi periods, the adoption pattern of each product in each segment is observed in every subinterval and accordingly promotional effort allocations are determined for the next period till we reach the end of planning period. The optimization model has been further extended to incorporate minimum aspiration level constraints on total sales for each product under consideration from all the segments taken together. A small focused library of eighteen new 1,2,3-triazole tethered acetophenones has been efficiently prepared via click chemistry approach and evaluated for their antifungal and antioxidant *** antifungal activity was evaluated against five human pathogenic fungal strains：Candida albicans,Fusarium oxysporum,Aspergillus flavus,Aspergillus niger,and Cryptococcus *** the synthesized compounds,9c,9i,and 9p found to be more potent antifungal agents that the reference *** 1,2,3-triazole based derivatives were also evaluated for antioxidant activity,and compound 9h was found to be the most potent antioxidant as compared to the standard ***,molecular docking study of the newly synthesized compounds was performed and results showed good binding mode in the active site of fungal *** enzyme P450 cytochrome ***,the synthesized compounds were also analyzed for ADME properties and showed potential as good oral drug candidates.

Purpose:Dental and orofacial trauma among the adult population constitutes a major public health *** impact is not just physical but also *** analyse the impacts of dental and orofacial trauma on oral health-related quality of life(OHRQoL)in adults and determine whether the 2 variables are closely ***:This is a systematic *** terms“dental trauma”,“orofacial trauma”,“oral health”,“oral health related impact life”,“OHRQoL”,“positive and negative affect scale”,“quality of life”,“facial injuries”,“adults”,and“young adults”were researched in the databases of PubMed,ScienceDirect,Scopus and Google Scholar for associated studies up to December 30,2022.A comprehensive search was designed and the articles were independently screened for eligibility by 2 *** included studies’author,year of publication,the country where the study was conducted,population demographics(number and age),an instrument used for assessing OHRQoL and the relevant result were recorded and *** quality of the evidence was assessed using Joanna Briggs Institute checklist for observational ***:Out of 482 unique records,3 articles were included for data *** studies were *** studies did not mention confounding *** scales were used for dental and orofacial trauma and *** has a directly proportional relationship with orofacial *** with orofacial trauma have a significant impact on this value with a prevalence of 88.4%.Conclusion:The highest impact on OHRQoL was seen immediately after the diagnosis of an orofacial *** impact increases with the severity of the ***,to promote overall dental and general health,health education initiatives should include information on the causes,prevention,and requirement for prompt responses by the populace in seeking dental intervention.
