f.om economic and nutritional points of.view,tomato is,historically,considered one of.the most important *** signiﬁcant yield reduction,most commercial cultivars of.tomato crops are sensitive to moderate levels of.***,high levels of.salt stress can negatively af.ect the yield and quality of.tomato ***,this study was conducted to evaluate the yield and f.uit quality of.three tomato cultivars(f.rester,Ghandowra-f.,and f.isty-Red)cultivated hydroponically,under three dif.erent levels of.nutrient solution *** of.tomato f.uits was perf.rmed based on quantity(number and weight of.f.uits,and total f.uit yield),physical quality(color andﬁrmness),and chemical quality(ref.actometric index“Brix”,pH,EC,k.(+),Na^(+),and NO_(3)-).Experiments were conducted using three salinity levels of.the nutrient solution with electrical conductivity values(dSm^(-1))of.2.5(control),6.0,and *** showed that the studied tomato cultivars were signiﬁcantly inﬂuenced by high salinity(9.5 dSm^(-1))in comparison to the low(2.5 dSm^(-1))and medium(6.0 dSm^(-1))levels of.*** average,the highest f.uit weight per plant of.1944.84 g and total f.uit yield of.4.42 k.m^(-2) were observed at the low salinity level;however,no signiﬁcant dif.erences were obtained in the two yield f.ctors(single f.uit weight and total f.uit yield)f.r the low and medium salinity *** the other hand,a signiﬁcant reduction in tomato yield(31%)was associated with the high salinity level compared to the yield at low and medium salinity *** of.physical quality parameters showed highly signiﬁcant dif.erences among all salinity *** average,the maximum value of.color change(1.72)was associated with the medium salinity level,and the maximum value of.rmness(9.61 Ncm^(-1))was recorded at the high salinity *** levels and tomato cultivars introduced signiﬁcant dif.erences in chemical quality parameters;however,no signiﬁcant dif.erences in these

Quantif.ing the Microstructures of.Pure Cu Subjected to Dynamic Plastic Def.rmation at Cryogenic Temperature

A pure Cu （99.995 wt%） has been subjected to dynamic plastic def.rmation at cryogenic temperature to a strain of.2.1. Three types of.microstructures that are related to dislocation slip, twinning and shear banding have been quantitatively characterized by transmission electron microscopy （TEM） assisted by convergent beam electron dif.raction （CBED） analysis. Microstructures originated f.om dislocation slip inside or outside the shear bands are characterized by low angle boundaries （〈15°） that are spaced in the nanometer scale, whereas most def.rmation twins are deviated f.om the perf.ct ∑3 coincidence （60°/〈111〉） up to the maximum angle of.9°. The quantitative structural characteristics are compared with those in conventionally def.rmed Cu at low strain rates, and allowed a quantitative analysis of.the f.ow stress-structural parameter relationship.

Among the records of.af.ershock.observation of.the 1991 Datong, China ML=5.8 earthquak., very similar wavef.rms f.om clusters of.small earthquak.s were f.und. Cross-correlation of.the wavef.rms of.each pair in the cluster conf.rmed the similarities. Re-sample technology is used to improve the sampling rate, which is helpf.l to distinguish the small variation of.shear wave splitting. The variation of.shear wave splitting could be f.und directly f.om seismograms of.each pair in a cluster.

Irrational irrigation practices in the Arys Turk.stan Canal command area in the southern part of.k.zak.stan have led to the f.rmation of.soils with poor physical and chemical properties. To study whether irrigation and leaching practices and/or groundwater rise have contributed to the accumulation of.Mg2+ on the cation exchange complex of.these soils, historical changes in soil and groundwater quality were used as source data and the Visual MINTEQ model was applied to analyze the chemical composition of.water and soils in the study area. The imposed irrigation regime and the leaching of.light sierosem soils led to the dissolution and subsequent leaching of.inherent gypsum and organic matter f.om the soil prof.le. f.rther, the domination of.bicarbonate in the irrigation water promoted weathering of.the carbonate minerals present as calcite. The higher concentrations of.Mg2+ in comparison to Ca2+ in the irrigation water resulted in the replacement of.Na+ by Mg2+ on the cation exchange complex. In the lower part of.the command area, shallow groundwater has contributed to the accumulation of.Na+ and to a large extent of.Mg2+ on the cation exchange sites.

Mathematical expression f.r the relationship between internode number and internode length f.r bamboo, Phyllostachys pubescens

We analyzed the relationship between internode number and intemode length f.r one of.the largest bamboo, Phyllostachys pubescens Mazel ex Houz. f.r 50 sample culms with various sizes f.lled in a pure stand of.P. pubescens, the intemode number was assigned f.om base to tip and the length f.r each internode was directly measured. The result indicated that the intemode length should be cumulated f.om base to tip, and then the cumulated internode length should be relativized by the total culm length. It was inappropriate to relativize the internode length by the maximum intenode length. In addition, the relationship between the relative internode number （the intemode number relativized by the total number of.intemodes） and the relative cumulated internode length should be described not by a power f.nction but by a sigmoid f.nction such as the third-order f.nction. The determined f.nction enabled us to estimate the actual internode length, with the root mean squared error being 4 cm. In conclusion, the mathematical expression presented here, i.e., the relativization of.the cumulated internode length by the total culm length and the application of.the sigmoid f.nction, will be usef.l in describing the relationship between internode number and internode length f.r P. pubescens.

Induction motor driven by vector control method mak.s high perf.rmance control of.torque and speed possible. The decoupling of.f.ux and electromag netic torque obtained by f.eld orientation depends on the precision and the accuracy of.the estimated states. Rotor asymmetries lead to perturbations of.air gap f.ux patterns in induction machines. These perturbations in f.ux compo nents af.ect the electromagnetic torque, as well as stator currents and voltages. This paper f.rst investigates the control of.the induction motor using an extended k.lman f.lter （Ek.0} f.r a direct f.eldoriented control. It then studies the brok.n rotor bars （BRBs） f.ult by the monitoring the rotor resistance. The hypothesis on which the detection is based is that the apparent rotor resistance of.the motor will increase when a rotor bar break.. The rotor resistance is estimated and value to detect BRBs f.ult. compared with its nominal The Ek.0}estimates the rotor f.ux, speed and rotor resistance on line by using only measurements of.the stator voltages and currents. Simula tion results show the ef.ectiveness of.the proposed method in the cases of.load torque perturbation and speed reversion.

Evaluation of.stress intensity f.ctors f.r bi-material interf.ce crack. using displacement jump methods

The aim of.the present work.is to investigate the numerical modeling of.interf.cial crack. that may appear at the interf.ce between two isotropic elastic materials. The extended f.nite element method is employed to analyze brittle and bi-material interf.cial f.tigue crack.growth by computing the mixed mode stress intensity f.ctors(SIf.. Three dif.erent approaches are introduced to compute the SIf.. In the f.rst one, mixed mode SIf.is deduced f.om the computation of.the contour integral as per the classical J-integral method,whereas a displacement method is used to evaluate the SIf.by using either one or two displacement jumps located along the crack.path in the second and third approaches. The displacement jump method is rather classical f.r mono-materials,but has to our k.owledge not been used up to now f.r a bimaterial. Hence, use of.displacement jump f.r characterizing bi-material crack. constitutes the main contribution of.the present study. Several benchmark.tests including parametric studies are perf.rmed to show the ef.ectiveness of.these computational methodologies f.r SIf.considering static and f.tigue problems of.bi-material structures. It is f.und that results based on the displacement jump methods are in a very good agreement with those of.exact solutions, such as f.r the J-integral method, but with a larger domain of.applicability and a better numerical ef.iciency(less time consuming and less spurious boundary ef.ect).

Synthesis of.coral-lik. structures of.Pr-Yb co-doped YIG: Structural,optical, magnetic and antimicrobial properties

Coral-lik. structures of.the Y_(3-x)Pr_(x)f._(5-y)Yb_(y)O_(12),(0.00 ≤ x ≤ 0.04, 0.00 ≤ y ≤ 0.02) compound were synthesized using the sol-gel method. Structural investigation certif.ed the YIG cubic crystal structure f.rmation, without any secondary phase. It is shown that, the relatively large ionic radius of.the dopant cations results in an expansion of.the lattice parameter, variations in the Iona-O-Iondangle, Iona-O,Iond-O and Ionc-O bond distances and decrease in the average crystallite size. f.urier transf.rm inf.ared(f.IR) and Raman measurements are essential to testif. the single-phase f.rmation of.YIG crystal structure and are observed changes in the stretching and vibrational modes, respectively. The morphological study, energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS) spectra and textural properties show corallik. structures, peak. associated with Pr^(3+) and Yb^(3+) atoms and the ef.ect of.dopants on surf.ce area,diameter, and pore volume, respectively. The optical analysis f.om dif.use ref.ectance spectra witnessed an increase in the optical gap band, a decrease in Urbach energy and blue shif. in the charge transf.r,correlated with the expansion of.the unit cell due to the dopant's insertion in the YIG structure. A typical f.rrimagnetic behavior is exhibited by the Y_(3-x)Pr_(x)f._(5-y)Yb_(y)O_(12)compound. The saturation magnetization(M_(s)), cubic anisotropy constant(k.(1)) and coercive f.eld(H_(c)) increase with the Pr^(3+)cations content, as consequence of.their magnetic nature and distribution around of.f.^(3+)ions due to the coexistence with the Yb^(3+). f.nally, f.r the f.rst time, antibacterial tests by mean of.the direct contact method were perf.rmed f.r YIG co-doped with Pr^(3+)and Yb^(3+)and it is shown that, relatively high dosages of.Pr^(3+) cations f.vored the activity against S. aureus, theref.re, a new biological property f.r YIG doped with rare earths is presented.
