Role of Surface Processes and Mantle Plumes in the Formation of Microcontinents:Insights from Numerical Modeling and the Seychelles Microcontinent Case Study

Mantle plumes and surface erosion and sediment deposition affect the modes of continental lithospheric rupturing in extensional tectonic settings,modulating the evolution of rifting ***,their relative contributions to the overall evolution of rifting margins and possible roles in the formation of microcontinent are still ***,we use coupled geodynamic and surface processes numerical modeling to assess the extent to which surface processes may determine the formation of microcontinent during lithospheric stretching in presence or absence of a mantle plume *** modeling results indicate that fast extension rates and hillslope(i.e.,diffusion)erosion promote ridge jump events and therefore the formation of *** the contrary,efficient fluvial erosion and far-reaching sediment transport(i.e.,stream power erosion)inhibits ridge jump events and the formation of *** ridge jump event and overall evolution in our numerical models is consistent with the shift from the Mascarene Ridge to the Carlsberg Ridge that determined the formation of the Seychelles *** therefore speculate that hillslope erosion,rather than fluvial erosion,was predominant during the formation of the Seychelles,a possible indication of overall dry local climate conditions.

Unlike other major crops,little research has been performed on tomato to reduce the generation time for speed *** evaluated several agronomic treatments to reduce the generation time of tomato in the‘M82'(determinate)and‘Moneymaker'(indeterminate)varieties and evaluated the best combination in conjunction with embryo *** container sizes with volumes of 0.2 L(XS),0.45 L(S),0.8 L(M),1.3 L(L),and6 L(XL),were evaluated in the first experiment under the autumn *** found that plants grown in XL containers exhibited better development and required less time from sowing to anthesis(DSA)and from anthesis to fruit ripening(DAR).In the second experiment,using XL containers in the autumn-winter cycle,we evaluated the effects of cold priming at the cotyledonary stage,water stress,P supplementation,and K supplementation on generation *** to the control,we found that cold priming significantly reduced the number of leaves,plant height to first the inflorescence,and DSA(2.7 d),whereas K supplementation reduced the DAR(8.8 d).In contrast,water stress and P supplementation did not significantly affect any of the measured traits like DAR,DSA or fruit *** validate these data,in a third experiment with XL containers in the spring-summer cycle,the combination of cold priming and K supplementation was tested,confirming the significant effect of this combination on the reduction of generation time(2.9 d for DSA and 3.9 d for DAR)compared to the *** rescue during the cell expansion cycle(average of 22.0 d and 23.3 d after anthesis for‘M82'and‘Moneymaker',respectively)allowed the shortening of the generation time by 8.7 d in‘M82'and 11.6 d in‘Moneymaker'compared to the in planta fruit *** combination of agronomic treatments with embryo rescue can effectively increase the number of generations per year from three to four for speed breeding of tomato.

现藏美国普林斯顿大学美术馆的王義之《行穰帖》,这件短短两行十五字的墨迹是欧美的中国美术史界十分推崇的作品。与欧美與论不同,笔者认为此幅作品即便是古代摹本也并不能代表王義之经典书法水平。其实,借用《行穰帖》的例子正好可以让我们重新思考书法和文化交流的意义和方法。本篇拟对现存《行穰帖》摹本相关问题做出整体梳理,一方面提出一些关于书法鉴定的想法,另一方面提出对书法『继承』和『传播』的几则参考意见。

Two recent studies published in Nature focused on the clinical efficacy of the menin inhibitor revumenib(SNDX-5613)in KMT2A(histone-lysine N-methyltransferase 2A)-rearranged or NPM1(Nucleophosmin1)-mutant acute myeloid leukemia.1,2 These studies indicate that menin inhibition and its acquired resistance to long-term exposure to revuminib are key points for future treatment,emphasizing the role of menin as a challenging and promising target for the current treatment of leukemia.

The genomes of the barley, Arabidopsis and pea powdery mildew are significantly larger than those of related fungi. This is due to an extraordinary expansion of retro-trasposons that are evident as repetitive elements in the sequence. The protein coding genes are fewer than expected due to an overall reduction in the size of gene families, a reduction in the number of paralogs and because of the loss of certain metabolic pathways. Many of these changes have also been observed in the genomes of other taxonomically unrelated obligate biotrophic pathogens. The only group of genes that bucks the trend of gene loss, are those encoding small secreted proteins that bear the hall marks of effectors.

An experimental investigation on the near and far wake of a cascade of high-lift low-pressure turbine blades subjected to boundary layer separation over the suction side surface has been carried out, under steady and unsteady inflows. Two Reynolds number conditions, representative of take-off/landing and cruise operating conditions of the real engine, have been tested. The effect of upstream wake-boundary layer interaction on the wake shed from the profile has been investigated in a three-blade large-scale linear turbine cascade. The comparison between the wakes shed under steady and unsteady inflows has been performed through the analysis of mean velocity and Reynolds stress components measured at midspan of the central blade by means of a two-component crossed miniature hot-wire probe. The wake development has been analyzed in the region between 2% and 100% of the blade chord from the central blade trailing edge, aligned with the blade exit direction. Wake integral parameters, half-width and maximum velocity defects have been evaluated from the mean velocity distributions to quantify the modifications induced on the vane wake by the upstream wake. Moreover the thicknesses of the two wake shear layers have been considered separately in order to identify the effects of Reynolds number and incoming flow on the wake shape. The self-preserving state of the wake has been looked at, taking into account the different thicknesses of the two shear layers. The evaluation of the power density spectra of the velocity fluctuations allowed the study of the wake unsteady behavior, and the detection of the effects induced by the different operating conditions on the trailing edge vortex shedding.

Neurotrophins (NTs) are implicated in the maintenance and survival of the peripheral and central nervous systems and mediate several forms of synaptic plasticity. Members of the family include nerve growth factor (NGF), brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), NT3, and NT4. NTs were first identified as survival factors for developing neurons, but are pleiotropic molecules that can exert a variety of functions, including the regulation of neuronal differentiation, axonal and dendritic growth, and synaptic plasticity (Bothwell, 2014). NTs interact with two distinct types of receptors: the common p75 neurotrophin receptor, which belongs to the tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily of death receptors and the Trk receptor tyrosine kinase family.

Curcumin is a low-molecular-weight hydrophobic polyphenol that is extracted from turmeric,which possesses a wide range of biological properties including anti-inflammatory,anti-oxidant,anti-proliferative and anti-microbial *** its diverse targets and substantial safety,clinical applications of this molecule for digestive disorders have been largely limited to case series or small clinical *** poor bioavailability of curcumin is likely the major hurdle for its more widespread use in ***,complexation of curcumin into phytosomes has recently helped to bypass this problem,as it has been demonstrated that this new lecithin formulation enables increased absorption to a level 29-fold higher than that of traditional curcuminoid *** allows us to achieve much greater tissue substance delivery using significantly lower doses of curcumin than have been used in past clinical *** curcumin has already been shown to provide good therapeutic results in some small studies of both inflammatory and neoplastic bowel disorders,it is reasonable to anticipate an even greater efficacy with the advent of this new technology,which remarkably improves its *** features are very promising and may represent a novel and effective therapeutic approach to both functional and organic digestive diseases.
