We report a dual-contrast method of simultaneously measuring and visualizing the volumetric structural information in live biological samples in three-dimensional(3D) space. By introducing a direct way of deriving the 3D scattering potential of the object from the synthesized angular spectra, we obtain the quantitative subcellular morphology in refractive indices(RIs) side-by-side with its fluorescence signals. The additional contrast in RI complements the fluorescent signal, providing additional information of the targeted zones. The simultaneous dual-contrast 3D mechanism unveiled interesting information inaccessible with previous methods, as we demonstrated in the human immune cell(T cell) experiment. Further validation has been demonstrated using a Monte Carlo model.

AIM To evaluate the ability of PillCamColon2 to visualize colonic segments missed by incomplete optical colonoscopy(OC) and to assess the diagnostic *** This prospective multicentre study included 81 patients from nine centres who underwent second-generation colon capsule endoscopy(CCE) following incomplete OC performed by an experienced gastroenterologist(> 1000 colonoscopies). Patients with stenosis were excluded. According to patient preferences, CCE was performed the following day(protocol A) after staying on clear liquids and 0.75 L Moviprep in the morning or within 30 d after new split-dose Moviprep(protocol B). Boosts consisted of 0.75 L and 0.25 L Moviprep, and phospho-soda was given as a rescue if the capsule was not excreted after seven *** Seventy-four patients were analysed(51% of them in group A; 49% in group B). Bowel cleansing was adequate in 67% of cases, and CCE could visualize colonic segments missed by incomplete colonoscopy in 90% of patients under protocol A and 97% of patients under protocol B(P = 0.35, n.s.). Significant polyps including adenocarcinoma were detected in 24% of cases. Detection rates for all polyps and significant polyps per patient were similar in both protocols. Polyps were found predominantly in the right colon(86%) in segments that were not reached by OC. Extracolonic findings-such as reflux esophagitis, suspected Barrett esophagus, upper GI-bleeding, gastric polyps, gastric erosions and angiectasia-were detected in eight patients. Pill Cam Colon2 capsule was retained in the ileum of one patient(1.4%) without symptoms and removed during an uneventful resection for unknown Crohn's disease that was diagnosed as the cause of anemia, which was the indication for colonoscopy. CCE was well tolerated. 在MCM-41中孔分子筛合成工艺研究的基础上从表面活性剂相行为、无机物种缩聚过程、界面分子识别(包括静电力、范德华力、空间结构)等方面入手,探讨了低质量分数表面活性剂(CTMABr)作模板剂的离子型合成体系中MCM-41的形成机理。研究结果表明体系中的齐聚硅酸根阴离子与带正电的表面活性剂棒状胶束通过协同作用形成了MCM-41前驱体(类液晶相结构的六角胶束有序体),煅烧脱模即得全硅MCM-41中孔分子筛。按此机理解释了pH条件对合成MCM-41的影响。

Background: In Africa, malaria-endemic regions have not been spared from COVID-19 outbreak which emerged in the first quarter of 2020. This pandemic has shown clinical and therapeutic similarities with malaria. This following study sought to determine the impact of COVID-19 on the malaria diagnosis. Method: A review of laboratory registers and an exploitation of the District Health Information Software 2 (DHIS2) to collect information on the diagnosis of malaria by microscopy and by rapid diagnostic test (RDT), but also that of COVID-19 was done from 2017 to 2021 at the Thierno Mouhamadoul Mansour Hospital in Mbour, Senegal. Results: In 2017, 199 Thick drops (TDs) and 1852 RDTs were performed for malaria diagnosis. In 2018, it was 2352 malaria tests with 2138 RDTs and 214 TDs, before reaching a peak of 3943 tests in 2019 including 3742 RDTs and 201 TDs. By 2020, 2263 tests were performed with 2097 malaria RDTs, 158 TDs and 8 COVID RDTs. The latter increased significantly in 2021, reaching 444 COVID RDTs, while TDs and malaria RDT kept decreasing to 147 and 1036 respectively. Positive TDs were higher in 2020 (11.4%) compared to 2017 (3.5%), 2018 (1.4%), 2019 (6.5%) and 2021 (6.8%). For malaria RDTs, a decrease in the number of positive tests was noted between 2017 (4.5%) and 2021 (1.3%). The COVID RDTs were all negative in 2020, 29.5% were positive and 4.1% were undetermined in 2021. Conclusion: COVID-19 has led to changes in efforts to diagnose malaria as well as an increase in malaria prevalence directed towards children under 5 years of age.

Study of Copper Thin Films Resistivity by Using van der Pauw Method at Low Frequencies

The objective of this work research is the use of four-point measurements and so-called van der Pauw methods in measuring the resistivity of copper thin films widely used in the manufacture of planar components such as inductor and others. Aligned configuration and square configuration are commonly used to measure thin films resistivity before use. But differences in values between the two configurations according to frequency and thickness were observed according to the authors. Measurements with both configurations on the same thin films must make it possible to know measurements evolution as a function of frequency and thickness. The observation of measuring frequency ranges of each configuration and the minimum thicknesses to have solid copper resistivity are the main contributions of the paper. This electrical characterization is carried out on copper thin films deposited on alumina substrates (50 mm × 20 mm × 635 μm) using RF sputtering technique. Copper thin films with various thicknesses (3.3 μm, 3.6 μm and 5.2 μm) were characterized. Low-frequency electrical characterization of these thin films was performed by four-point measurement method and using an HP 4284A type LCRmeter over the frequency range of 20 Hz to 1 MHz. van der Pauw’s method was used to calculate resistivity. These studies allowed us to know influence of measurement configurations and influence of parameters such as frequency and thickness of the copper thin films on resistivity.
