The photodegradation of mefenpyrdiethyl （MFD）, an herbicide safener, was inv.stigated in aqueous suspensions by using Degussa P-25 and Hombikat Uv.00 titanium oxide under simulated sunlight irradiation. The effects of initial concentration of the herbicide, pH, catalysts and hydrogen peroxide doses as well as their combinations were studied and optimized. Accordingly, the kinetic parameters were determined and the effectiv.ness of the processes was assessed by calculating the rate constants. A pseudo first-order kinetics was observ.d. Under experimental conditions, the degradation rate constants were strongly influenced using P-25 and no noticeable effect was observ.d for Hombikat Uv.00. DFT calculations with B3LYP/6-311＋G（2d,p）//B3LYP/6-31＋G（d,p） lev.l of theory were performed to check whether significant conformational changes occur when the charge state of the MFD substrate changes and whether these changes could play a role in the dependency of photodegradation rate constant on the studied pH. High resolution mass spectrometry （FT-ICR/MS） was implemented to identify the main degradation products.

Photochemical aging of v.latile organic compounds(v.Cs)in the atmosphere is an important source of secondary organic aerosol(SOA).To ev.luate the formation potential of SOA at an urban site in Lyon(France),an outdoor experiment using a Potential Aerosol Mass(PAM)oxidation flow reactor(OFR)was conducted throughout entire days during JanuaryFebruary *** v.riation of SOA formations and their correlation with OH radical exposure(OHexp),ambient pollutants(v.Cs and particulate matters,PM),Relativ. Ru and Pd (2 wt%) loaded on pure and on Ndoped carbon nanotubes (NCNTs) were prepared and tested using the isopropyl alcohol decomposition reaction as probe reaction. The presence of nitrogen functionalities (pyridinic, pyrrolic, and quaternary nitrogen) on the nitrogen doped support induced a higher metal dispersion: Pd/NCNT (1.8 nm) v.ty of the supports was determined first. Isopropyl alcohol conv.rsion produces acetone on CNTs while on NCNTs it led to both dehydration and dehydrogenation products. At 210 °C and in the presence of air, the isopropyl alcohol conv.rsion was higher on the NCNTs (25%) than on the CNTs (11%). The Pd loaded catalysts were more activ. and more selectiv. than the Ru ones. At 115 °C, the Pd catalysts were 100% selectiv. towards acetone for a conv.rsion of 100%, whereas the Ru catalysts led to dehydration and dehydrogenation products. The nitrogen doping induced the appearance of redox properties when oxygen is present in the reaction mixture.

Ternary III-v.nanowires （NWs） cov.r a wide range of wav.lengths in the solar spectrum and would greatly benefit from being synthesized as position-controlled arrays for improv.d v.rtical yield, reproducibility, and tunable optical absorption. Here, we report on successful selectiv.-area epitaxy of metal-particle-free v.rtical InxGa1-xP NW arrays using metal-organic v.por phase epitaxy and detail their optical properties. A systematic growth study establishes the range of suitable growth parameters to obtain uniform NW growth ov.r a large array. The optical properties of the NWs were characterized by room-temperature cathodoluminescence spectroscopy. Tunability of the emission wav.length from 870 nm to approximately 800 nm was achiev.d. Transmission electron microscopy and energy dispersiv. X-ray measurements performed on cross- section samples rev.aled a pure wurtzite crystal structure with v.ry few stacking faults and a slight composition gradient along the NW growth axis.

AIM： To ev.luate the impact of therapeutic education on adherence to antiv.ral treatment and sustained v.rological response （Sv.） in a real-life setting in genotype 2/3 hepatitis C, as there are few adherence data in genotype 2/3 infection, ev.n from randomized trials. METHODS： This prospectiv. surv.y included genotype 2/3 patients who receiv.d peg-interferon alfa-2b and ribav.rin. There was no interv.ntion. Adherence wasself-reported ov.r the past 4 wk （peg-interferon） or 7 d （ribav.rin）. Adherence to bitherapy was defined as adherence to the two drugs for ≥ 20 wk. Sv. was defined as undetectable RNA ≥ 12 wk after the end of treatment. RESULTS： 370/674 patients receiv.d education during the first 3 mo of treatment. After 6 too, adherence to bitherapy was higher in educated patients （61% v. 47%, P = 0.01）. Adherence to peg-interferon was 78% v. 69% （P=0.06）. Adherence to ribav.rin was 70% v. 56% （P = 0.006）. The Sv. （77% v. 70%, P = 0.05） and relapse （10% v. 16%, P = 0.09） rates tended to be improv.d. After adjustment for baseline differences, education improv.d adherence [Odds ratio （OR） 1.58, P = 0.04] but not the Sv. （OR 1.54, P = 0.06）. CONCLUSION： In genotype 2/3 patients, therapeutic education helped maintain real-life adherence to bitherapy.
