INTRODUCTION Echinococcus multilocularis(E. m) is considered one of the most lethal helminth infections of humans(Vuitton 1990). Benzimidazoles have been proved to be the most effective drugs for the treatment of this disease(Horton 1989, Wilson et al 1992, Wen et al 1993). However chemotherapy with these drugs shows problems of low bioavailability in common with all benzimidazoles. Research on liposomal albendazole in rats both non-infected and infected models, are reported here which demonstrate that uptake of albendazole orally is increased when administered in liposomes, and also indicate significant differences of E. m tissue reduction and drug concentrations between treated and control groups of rats.

Histamine_2-receptor antagonists(H_2ras) are availableover-the-counter (OTC) for the treatment and prevention of heartburn, but more than occasional, singledose use can lead to rapid development of tachyphylaxis. The aim of this review is to assess the publishedevidence regarding the development of tachyphylaxiswith repeat usage of H_2ras. PubMed and SCOPUS were searched across all years to identify clinical studies thatexamined the development of tachyphylaxis with repeated dosing of H_2ras. Although a single (first) doseof an H_2ra can be effective for controlling gastric acidand preventing or relieving food-related heartburn, numerous studies confirm that tachyphylaxis, also knownas tolerance, is consistently detected at the first timepoint assessed after the first dose, including the second day and/or second dose. Even if symptom relief isachieved with an H_2ra, it may be due to desensitizationof the esophagus to acid exposure, potentially providingsymptom relief without significantly decreasing esophageal acid exposure. When recommending OTC drugsfor treatment of frequent heartburn, clinicians shouldbe aware of the potential for rapid development oftachyphylaxis in patients who use H_2ras for 2 or more consecutive days. Even if symptom relief is achieved, it may be due to desensitization of the esophagus to acid by the H_2ra, potentially providing symptom relief without significantly decreasing esophageal acid exposure. Other strategies, such as an OTC proton pump inhibitor, may be needed to optimize management of frequent heartburn.

Cystathionine-γ-lyase(CSE),an enzyme associated with hydrogen sulfide(H2S)production,is an important endogenous regulator of *** domain-containing protein 3(JMJD3)is implicated in the immune response and ***,we investigated the potential contribution of JMJD3 to endogenous CSE-mediated inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis(ra).Upregulated CSE and JMJD3 were identified in synovial fibroblasts(SFs)from ra patients as well as in the joints of arthritic *** down CSE augmented inflammation in IL-1β-induced SFs by increasing JMJD3 *** addition,CSE−/−mice with collagen-induced arthritis(CIA)developed severe joint inflammation and bone ***,overexpressing CSE inhibited JMJD3 expression by the transcription factor Sp-1 and was accompanied by reduced inflammation in IL-1β-treated ***,JMJD3 silencing or the administration of the JMJD3 inhibitor GSK-J4 significantly decreased the inflammatory response in IL-1β-treated SFs,mainly by controlling the methylation status of H3K27me3 at the promoter of its target ***-J4 markedly attenuated the severity of arthritis in CIA *** conclusion,suppressing JMJD3 expression by the transcription factor Sp-1 is likely responsible for the ability of CSE to negatively modulate the inflammatory response and reduce the progression of ra.

The discharge patterns of neurons in auditory centers encode information about ***,few studies have focused on the synaptic mechanisms underlying the shaping of discharge patterns using intracellular recording ***,we investigated the discharge patterns of inferior collicular（IC）neurons using intracellular recordings to further elucidate the mechanisms underlying the shaping of discharge *** in vivo intracellular recording conditions,recordings were obtained from 66 IC neurons in 18 healthy adult mice（mus musculus,Km）under free *** of these neurons fired bursts of action potentials（APs）to auditory stimuli and the remaining eight just generated local responses such as excitatory（n=4）or inhibitory（n=4）postsynaptic *** on the APs and subthreshold responses,the discharge patterns were classified into seven types：phasic（24/58,41.4%）,phasic burst（8/58,13.8%）,pauser（4/58,6.9%）,phasic-pauser（1/58,1.7%）,chopper（2/58,3.4%）,primary-like tonic（14/58,24.1%）and sound-induced inhibitory（5/58,8.6%）.We concluded that（1）IC neurons exhibit at least seven distinct discharge patterns;（2）inhibition participates in shaping the discharge pattern of most IC neurons and plays a role in sculpting the pattern,except for the primary-like tonic pattern which was not shapedby inhibition;and（3）local neural circuits are the likely structural basis that shapes the discharge patterns of IC neurons and can be formed either in the IC or in lower-level auditory structures.
