Efficient rem.val of heavy m.tals from.electroplating wastewater using polym.r ligands

Poly（hydroxam.c acid）-poly（am.doxim.） che- lating ligands were synthesized from.poly（m.thyl acrylate-co-acrylonitrile） grafted acacia cellulose for rem.ving toxic m.tal ions from.industrial wastewaters. These ligands showed higher adsorption capacity to copper （2.80 m.ol. g-l） at ph 6. In addition, sorption capacities to other m.tal ions such as iron, zinc, chrom.um. and nickel were also found high at ph 6. The m.tal ions sorption rate （tl/2） was very fast. The rate of adsorption of copper, iron, zinc, chrom.um. nickel, cobalt, cadm.um.and lead were 4, 5, 7, 5, 5, 8, 9 and 11 m.n, respectively. Therefore, these ligands have an advantage to the m.tal ions rem.val using the colum. technique. We have successfully investigated the known concentration of m.tal ions using various param.ters, which is essential for designing a fixed bed colum. with ligands. The wastewater from.electroplating plants used in this study, having chrom.um. zinc, nickel, copper and iron, etc. For chrom.um.wastewater, ICP analysis showed that the Cr rem.val was 99.8% and other m.tal ions such as Cu, Ni, Fe, Zn, Cd, Pb, Co and m. rem.val were 94.7%, 99.2%, 99.9%, 99.9%, 99.5%, 99.9%, 95.6% and 97.6%, respectively. In case of cyanide wastewater, the m.tal rem.val, especially Ni and Zn rem.val were 96.5 and 95.2% at higher initial concentra- tion. For acid/alkali wastewater, m.tal ions rem.ving for Cd, Cr and Fe were 99.2%, 99.5% and 99.9%, respectively. Overall, these ligands are useful for m.tal rem.val by colum. m.thod from.industrial wastewater especially plating wastewater.

Rhenium.188 is prospectively effective for both diagnosis and radiotherapy as it appropriately em.ts gam.a rays and beta ***(LCm.is a newly approved antiepileptic m.dication for focal drug-resistant ***-188 was separated with high elution yield and high purity using the new 188W/188Re generator based on the ZrSiW gel m.trix.188Re-LCm.was prepared with high radiochem.cal yield and high *** of 188Re-LCm.in norm.l Swiss albino m.ce was investigated to determ.ne its utility as a potential brain therapy *** 188W/188Re generator was used to obtain 188Re based on the ZrSi188W gel m.trix,and the chem.cal,radiochem.cal,and radionuclidic purity of the obtained 188Re was determ.ned using inductively coupled plasm. optical em.ssion spectrom.try(ICP-AES),a paper chrom.tography technique,and high-purity germ.nium.HPGe)detection,respectively,to assess its validity for LCm.*** factors,such as the ph,reaction tim.,and LCm.quantity,were therefore studied in order to im.rove the yield and purity of 188Re-LCm.as determ.ned by various chrom.tographic techniques such as electrophoresis,thin layer chrom.tography(TLC),and highpressure liquid chrom.tography(HPLC).188Re was obtained with a high elution yield(75±3%)and a low 188W breakthrough(0.001±0.0001%).The m.xim.m.radiochem.cal yield of 188Re-LCm.87.5±1.8%)was obtained using 50 ll LCm.4 m.),250 ll stannous chloride(4.4 m.)at ph 4,100 ll 188Re(37 m.q),within 30 m.n,at room.tem.erature(25±3C),as determ.ned by TLC,electrophoresis,and HPLC *** analysis showed that 188Re-LCm.was prim.rily localized in the brain(5.1%)with a long residence tim.(240 m.n).

We describe the natural history and reproductive behaviour of the Em.i m.ustache Toad(Leptobrachium.boringii) with an em.0}asis on the developm.nt of keratinized nuptial spines in m.les and docum.nt com.at behaviour for the first tim. in this species. Between February and m.rch of 2011, 19 fem.le and 43 m.le L. boringii from.m.unt Em.i UNESCO World Heritage Site, Sichuan, China were observed throughout the breeding season. This species exhibits m.le-biased sexual size dim.rphism.SSD) with lim.ted evidence of paternal care(nest guarding by m.les). Prior to the breeding season m.les grow 10 – 16 keratinized spines on their upper lip, which fall off once the season has ended. Throughout the breeding season m.les construct and defend aquatic nests where they produce advertisem.nt calls to attract fem.les. During this tim. we docum.nted 14 cases involving a total of 22 m.les where m.les used their m.ustaches for aggressive interaction. Com.at typically occurred at the beginning of the season when m.les would com.ete for a lim.ted num.er of available nest sites. Neither m.le body size, nor body condition significantly affects the outcom. of an aggressive interaction, suggesting that size m.y not be the only factor influencing an individual’s chance of victory. Our evidence for m.le com.etition and aggression, along with observed paternal care are potential m.chanism. to explain the evolution of m.le-biased SSD observed in this species.

Objective: This study aim.d to develop a nom.gram.to predict the 1-year survival of patients with pancreatic cancer who underwent pancreatectom. following neoadjuvant treatm.nt with preoperatively detectable clinical param.ters. Extended pancreatectom. is necessary to achieve com.lete tum.r rem.val in borderline resectable and locally advanced pancreatic cancer. However, it increases postoperative m.rbidity and m.rtality rates, and should be balanced with potential benefit of long-term.***: The m.dical records of patients who underwent pancreatectom. following neoadjuvant treatm.nt from.January 2005 to Decem.er 2016 at Severance Hospital were retrospectively reviewed. m.dical records were collected from.five international institutions from.Japan and Singapore for external ***: A total of 113 patients were enrolled. The nom.gram.for predicting 1-year disease-specific survival was created based on 5 clinically detectable preoperative param.ters as follows: age(year), sym.tom.no/yes), tum.r size at initial diagnostic stage(cm., preoperative serum.carbohydrate antigen(CA) 19-9 level after neoadjuvant treatm.nt(m.L), and planned surgery [pancreaticoduodenectom.(PD)(pylorus-preserving PD)/distal pancreatectom.(DP)/total pancreatectom.]. m.del perform.nce was assessed for discrim.nation and *** calibration plot showed good agreem.nt between actual and predicted survival probabilities;the the Greenwood-Nam.D’Agostino(GND) goodness-of-fit test showed that the m.del was well calibrated(χ~2=8.24,P=0.5099). A total of 84 patients were used for external validation. When correlating actual disease-specific survival and calculated 1-year disease-specific survival, there were significance differences according to the calculated probability of 1-year survival am.ng the three groups(P=0.044).Conclusions: The developed nom.gram.had quite acceptable accuracy and clinical feasibility in the decision-m.king process for the m.nagem.nt of p

A sim.le m.thod for the fabrication of ultrathin film. containing low m.lecular weight dye m.terial is introduced(post-adsorption technique). The chrom.phore used is 4-nitro-4'-decyloxy azobenzene quaternary am.onium.salt (azo-10Q).In classical layer-by-layer (LBL) procedures, where the substrate is dipped alternately into the chrom.phore solution and thecom.lem.ntary polyelectrolyte, the chrom.phore tends to desorb from.the film.during subsequent im.ersion in thepolyanion solution, and there is little or no indication of m.ltilayer growth. The extent of desorption depends som.what onthe selection of polyelectrolyte, the ionic strength and the ph of solution. An alternative approach is to first prepareconventional LBL film. from.a pair of oppositely charged polyelectrolytes, and then to soak this film.into the chrom.phoresolution, where adsorption by penetration into the LBL film.m.y take place. In prelim.nary results, a linear dependence ofUV absorbance on layer num.er of LBL film.thus prepared was found, dem.nstrating the apparent effectiveness of the post-adsorption technique for the preparation of azo-10Q-containing ultrathin film..
